Michelle Dee paid a heartfelt tribute to her mom, Melanie Marquez, by gifting her a stunning replica of her stolen Miss International 1979 crown.

The Sparkle artist shared a heartfelt video on Instagram, where she surprised her beauty queen mother with a replica of her long-lost Miss International 1979 crown.
In the video, as her mother entered the car, Michelle handed her a red box containing a replica of the crown.
Melanie was visibly shocked and said, "Korona?! Korona ko? Paano niyo nakuha? Ang ganda naman nito."
The 1979 beauty queen then hugged her daughter and said, "Thank you, I love you."
After the warm moment, Michelle lovingly placed the crown on her mom's head, and the two posed for a sweet selfie.
"Every day is Mother's Day and every day is your birthday! But years ago, my mom's original Miss International 1979 crown was stolen. She never got it back," Michelle shared in the caption.
She also revealed that Miss Universe Philippines Executive Vice-President Voltaire Tayag helped her bring the crown replica to life.
"To my REYNA! I love you," she wrote.
She added, "P.S.: I miss my mom's melanisms!!! Pps: just realized I was wearing my dad's trench too!"
Melanie earned the Miss International crown in 1979, becoming the third Filipina to win the prestigious title.
Following in her footsteps, Michelle was named Miss Universe Philippines 2023. She proudly represented her country at Miss Universe 2023, where she placed in the Top 10 and won multiple special awards.

Roxie Smith reveals interest in joining Miss Universe Philippines
For the first time ever, Roxie Smith talked about her plans for returning to pageantry. On the sidelines of GMA Gala 2025, the Sparkle star revealed to GMA News Online that she is currently contemplating a potential bid for the Miss Universe Philippines title. "I've been contemplating if I would join Miss Universe Philippines. I have a few more months to decide, and hopefully, I want to represent Baguio. But we'll see," she said. Roxie was also quick to emphasize that her plans are not yet set in stone. "Nothing's finalized yet 'cause, of course, I have to talk to the org and everybody involved. So we'll see. Kai Sotto, Ray Parks grace GMA Gala 2025
