'It's been blown out of proportion': Love Island's Lauren responds to Harrison being called out by Women's Aid
Speaking to Cosmopolitan UK after leaving the Villa last week, Lauren was asked how she felt about the charity's statement, to which she responded: "I think it was blown out of proportion. He's made a mistake, but everyone makes mistakes, like he's gone about it in the wrong way. He knows he's done wrong."
She then added: "I think it was just the timing of everything. But like he said, he's not a bad person. Everyone in the Villa knows that and that's why it upset me the whole situation so much because I knew deep down he never meant it in a malicious way. He would never want to hurt someone, he just unfortunately didn't communicate with me how he felt and it's a shame he's been portrayed in this way, because that's just not him. And obviously for his family to see that it's just not nice when they know him properly, know that that isn't him as a person."
She concluded: 'And with it being only an hour, we've not watched it back, we don't know what has actually been shown to get all of this. They see one hour a day.'
Last week Women's Aid issued a statement to The Tab, in which they called out the men's behaviour on Love Island. The statement was shared after an episode aired in which Harrison slept with Lauren, and then the next day told fellow Islander Toni he still had feelings for her and suggested she chose him at the next recoupling, without telling Toni he had slept with Lauren. After Toni did make her decision, Lauren was upset and seen in tears on the show.
Following this episode Women's Aid said: "In recent years, Love Island and other forms of reality TV have been repeatedly called out by viewers for allowing in contestants that had a history of abusive, coercive and manipulative behaviour in previous relationships. As a result, production companies have been more careful when it comes to selecting contestants and calling out toxic behaviours when we see them.
'Despite these positive steps, we still see unhealthy patterns of behaviour on these shows, showing just how steeped in misogyny and sexism our society still is. Women are often lied to, slut-shamed and manipulated, as well as laughed at behind their backs. Misogyny and sexism lay the foundation for the tolerance of abuse and violence – it reinforces a culture that excuses and trivialises violence against women and girls. More must be done to educate contestants on sexism and misogyny, and it is a great credit to viewers who take to social media, continuing to call out these behaviours as soon as they see them.'
Harrison has since responded to the above statement, while in an interview with the Daily Mail. He said reading the charity's comment "wasn't nice" and that he does "respect women."
He told the publication: "I have seen the backlash and it's hard to digest. I would disagree with a lot of it in terms of my respect for women, I do respect women.
"The worst has been from Women's Aid. I know myself and the girls on the show too, Toni said she knows I'm not a bad person, just went about situations in the wrong way, but the Women's Aid statement wasn't nice... it's not nice coming out of the villa to my mum upset by that so I would say that's been the hardest."
Harrison then did acknowledged his behaviour and apologised to the women he had hurt and added: "I got it wrong and the back and forth between the two connections caused more harm than I ever intended.
"It wasn't ever an ego thing. I am not proud of how I handled things and I'm not going to make excuses. I just want to own it. If people can give me the space to grow from it, I will do everything I can to be better and that's the only thing I can do.
"There is no handbook for how to be on a show like Love Island. It's instincts and intentions. I got some of it right, but I know I got a lot of it wrong, and I know that now."
Last week Lauren was dumped from the Villa, after new bombshell Angel chose to couple up with Ty, which left Lauren single. She then asked Harrison (who was still technically in a couple with Toni) to leave with him. He debated over packing his bag and 24 hours after Lauren had left the Villa, he told his fellow Islanders he was quitting the Villa and wanted to pursue things with Lauren in the outside world.
Since their exits last week, Harrison and Lauren have been reunited and appeared to barely spend a moment apart.

When was Perfect Match season three filmed? Intro-ing the couple who are already expecting!
Perfect Match may well be the final boss of reality tv dating shows. The Netflix show brings together alumni from other dating shows (primarily those that have shown on Netflix such as Love Is Blind, Too Hot To Handle, and Temptation Island, but, this season, familiar faces from the likes of Love Island and The Batchelor) Now, season three has been dropped on our screens and, well, we have questions! Specifically, a duo who met on this very season of Perfect Match are not only a confirmed couple but engaged a baby. Yep, sorry for the spoilers, but Ollie (of Love Is Blind UK) and AD (of Love Is Blind) are very certainly together. They were spotted hanging out and being loved up last summer (as 2024) and announced their engagement in a Love Is Blind reunion episode in March 2025. Back in May, they also announced that they are expecting a baby (too cute!). So, with all that in mind, it's clear that a major chunk of time has passed between Perfect Match season three being filmed, and its eventual release this week. The news that Perfect Match was renewed for a third season was announced on June 27, 2024, a week after the second season wrapped. It seems that the show began filming shortly after, which suggests that Ollie and AD have been loved up for around a year. We don't know if these two will be the winning couple for Perfect Match season three, but they definitely prove that love is real! Currently, the first six episodes of the season are available to watch on Netflix and three more will be made available on 8th August and the show will conclude on 15th August. So excited to see how this pans out...

Huda Mustafa Makes Red Carpet Debut With Brand New Boo
Huda Mustafa Makes Red Carpet Debut With Brand New Boo originally appeared on Parade. Fresh off of her stint on Love Island: USA season 7, it looks like fan favorite islander Huda Mustafa has already found love outside the villa, this time with a different reality television personality. For those who haven't been keeping up, almost immediately after returning to the United States from Fiji, Huda has been romantically linked to Too Hot To Handle season 5 star Louis Russell. The pair was spotted holding hands and shopping together at The Grove in Los Angeles — just days after Huda's Love Island: USA journey came to a close — in addition to numerous other lovey-dovey encounters. Now, the duo seems to have publicly confirmed their relationship, attending last night's Weapons world premiere as a couple, posing for photos on the red carpet while holding hands yet again. Taking place yesterday (July 31) at The United Theater on Broadway in Los Angeles, stars like Julia Garner, Josh Brolin, Sara Paxton and more were in attendance at the Weapons world premiere, but with sleek-as-can-be coordinated outfits, it's safe to say Huda and Louis stole the show. On the red carpet, Huda stepped out in a black lace maxi dress, complete with corseting and boning down the bodice to add a bit of edge. Accompanying the gorgeous gown, the 24-year-old opted for bronzy, głowy makeup and mermaid-esque waves in her hair, creating an overall look that's as stunning as can be. As for Louis, he opted for an all-black ensemble as well — matching his partner in crime — pairing his black suit with silver jewelry, as well as some sexy black sunglasses atop his head. "I love it when two pretty people date," a fan commented on the pair's red carpet debut, and we seriously could not agree more! For all the updates regarding Huda and Louis' blossoming relationship, you can connect with both parties on Instagram for any further updates: @hudabubbaaa and @louis_russell. Additionally, you may stream the entirety of Love Island: USA season 7 — as well as previous seasons of the beloved reality television series — now via Peacock. ‘Perfect Match' Season 3: Which Couples Are Still Together?
One of the most chaotic reality dating shows is back! The first six episodes of Perfect Match season three have just dropped on Netflix and it's just as messy, hilarious and full of heartbreak as the previous two seasons. But which couples are still together? The Netflix reality show brings together a bunch of singles from a variety of different reality shows. Usually it's just Netflix originals, but this year they've invited cast members from Love Island, The Bachelor, and other shows too. In each episode the cast must chose who to match up with and the following day they compete in a challenge. The winning couple from the challenge then gets to head to the boardroom where they can send themselves or their fellow cast members on dates with newbies. And then when everyone is back in the villa after various dates they must then choose who to match up with that evening. It leads to a lot of couple swapping and the dumping of many contestants. However, throughout the show there's been some strong couples, and right now as of the first six episodes airing there's five couples. So who is in a couple right now? And which matches are still together IRL? Here's what you need to know. Relationship status: Still together Ok so technically at the end of episode six Olly is in a match with Justine, however, we already know that Olly and AD are now engaged and expecting a baby together. The pair shocked the reality TV world, when back in March earlier this year the couple announced they were engaged, as we had no idea at the time they were even dating. However, it was shortly announced later that they appeared on Perfect Match together. At the start of the series they instantly connected and were all over each other. However, after building a strong connection, the beginning of episode six shocked viewers when Nick Lachey turned up. He revealed Daniel and Lucy had been given the task of who to send home and it was decided that AD and Freddie should leave. AD and Olly both seemed extremely upset by the decision, but it lead to Olly going on a date with two women—Justine and Olivia. He ended up rematching with Justine. However, given we know he and AD are now engaged and expecting a baby, we reckon she'll return to the house at some point. Relationship status: Still together (we think) Lucy and Daniel have been together from day one. However, it hasn't always been smooth sailing. They've had some high highs, including a very spicy bondage date, but they've also had some low lows. At one point during the season Daniel called Lucy 'embarrassing' which naturally caused her to get upset and doubt their connection. Despite this however, the pair chose to match again at the end of episode six with Daniel apologizing. Lucy acknowledged that while it was a painful moment she didn't want to throw their connection away after one argument. Relationship status: Still together (we think) Who would have thought Too Hot To Handle's Louis would be in one couple for the whole show? As of the end of episode six he's been with The Ultimatum's Sandy for their entire time in the house. They matched on day one and have continued building a strong connection. There's been some bumps in the road, including one of Louis' other interests Alex saying she would be up for a threesome, which Sandy was not down for. And in episode six the pair had one of their most dramatic moments when Louis called Sandy out for getting to know one of the other guys. They ended the episode matching but not on great terms. Louis then apologized to Sandy when they were in bed together and so now they seem to be on a better track. Relationship status: Still together (we think) Would it be a dating show without Love Island's Scott? No of course not. The Islander entered the house after being chosen for Rachel to go on a date with. It's still pretty early days for these two but they seem to have a good connection and chemistry, and neither seem interested in getting to know anyone else. Could we see Scott end a show in a couple? Relationship status: Still together (we think) Madison and Jalen are the newest couple to make a match. They got together after Madison's previous match Freddie was chosen to leave the house after Lucy and Daniel had to send someone on a date and that meant their current match had to leave. Madison was devastated when Freddie left but has been getting on pretty well with Jalen so far, so maybe he is a better match for her? Perfect Match is available on Netflix right now.
