"PM Modi changed country's political culture, established new normal": JP Nadda as BJP govt marks 11 years
New Delhi [India], June 9 (ANI): As the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government completed 11 years, BJP President and Union Minister JP Nadda on Monday highlighted the various achievements of the government, including good governance, change in India's 'political culture,' and several bold decisions taken.
Addressing a press conference, Nadda said that Prime Minister Modi has changed the country's political culture and established a new normal and a new order.
Nadda said, 'We are completing 11 years under PM Modi's leadership. It is very difficult to confine 11 years in a press conference. The work done under PM Modi's leadership is written in the golden words because of the unimaginable and unique works. PM Modi has changed the country's politics, political culture. The country was appeased 11 years ago. Earlier, saving a political chair by dividing the society was the norm. When I say he changed the political culture of the country, it means politics of performance, responsive and responsible government, along with politics of report card, which means we are accountable. The work we are doing is in front of the public.'
'I can proudly say that in the last 11 years, the government led by PM Modi has changed the culture of Indian politics and established a new normal, a new order. This government is effective, this government takes strong decisions, it is a government that brings economic discipline,' he added.
Lauding the efforts of the Modi government, the BJP National President noted that the past 11 years have laid a strong foundation for a truly developed and self-reliant India.
He asserted, 'Modi Govt is a people-led government which has people's participation. Over the past years, we have brought transparency and built a forward-looking, futuristic administration. That is why we talk about Viksit Bharat. This is the Amrit Kaal. The past 11 years have laid a strong foundation for a truly developed and self-reliant India.'
Slamming the UPA government before 2014, Nadda stated that previous governments were full of corruption and a prevailing sense of negativity, but PM Modi changed the negativism to optimism, and people proudly say, 'Modi hai to mumkin hai.'
'Before 2014, the previous government was full of corruption and a prevailing sense of negativity. But after 2014, under the leadership of PM Modi, that sentiment changed. The negativism changed to optimism. Now people proudly say, 'Modi hai to mumkin hai. Today, we are doing development along with keeping best practices. PM Modi has said that this decade will prove to be the base of the development of a future Viksit Bharat. This is why our every policy was focused on perform, transform, reform...' the Union Minister said.
The BJP President highlighted the notable decisions taken under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, including abrogation of Article 370, abolition of Triple Talaq, bringing of the Waqf Amendment Act and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), etc.
Nadda said, 'In the last 11 years, we have moved forward with the mantra of 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas'. Abrogation of Article 370, the country had accepted that this was not possible, but the Modi government removed Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. The turnout in the Lok Sabha was 58.46 per cent, while the turnout in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections was 63 per cent. This change has come due to the bold decision of the Modi government. Similarly, the abolition of Triple Talaq was a tragedy for women and humanity. Even Muslim countries didn't have the system of Triple Talaq. Similarly, the Waqf Amendment Act, the Citizenship Amendment Act, demonetization, and women's reservation.'
Narendra Modi first took oath as the Prime Minister of India on May 26, 2014, and is currently serving his third consecutive term. Last year, he took oath as Prime Minister on June 9 after winning elections for the third term.
Marking the occasion, the Union government also released a comprehensive e-book detailing achievements across various sectors over the past 11 years. The year 2025 marks 11 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government. (ANI)

AI171 plane crash: PM Modi likely to visit crash site today, meet injured people
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital on Friday evening to meet the sole survivor and the people injured in the tragic AI171 flight crash, even as a comprehensive investigation into one of the worst civil aviation disasters intensifies. The PM is also expected to visit the site of the crash, officials said. 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the crash site and meet the injured and the families of the victims around 8.30 pm,' a senior Gujarat government official said, adding that a team from Boeing is expected to arrive soon to provide detailed insights into the potential causes of the crash, which marks the first fatal incident involving a Boeing 787 Dreamliner since its commercial debut in 2011. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, carrying 232 passengers and 10 crew members, crashed into a residential area in Meghani Nagar, Ahmedabad, on Thursday shortly after take-off from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The aircraft, en route to London's Gatwick airport, issued a 'Mayday' call before losing contact with Air Traffic Control (ATC), reaching only 625 feet before plummeting into a medical college hostel, igniting a massive fire ball. The crash claimed the lives of 241 people on board and at least three medical students on ground. The sole survivor, a British national of Indian origin seated near an emergency exit, is currently at the civil hospital where 45 others, including undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) medical students, are receiving treatment. Authorities have confirmed that four medical students and the wife of a doctor were also killed in the mishap. Prime Minister Modi is expected to assess the situation, meet officials and review preliminary findings from the ongoing investigation, which is being led by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB). Preliminary reports indicate that the aircraft may have experienced a malfunction in a wing flap as the landing gear was seen to be in a downward position during ascent, which is unusual for that phase of the flight, an Airports Authority of India official said. Investigators are also considering possibilities like overloading or a bird strike, though clear weather conditions rule out environmental factors, he added. The aircraft's flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder, commonly referred to as the 'black box', are being analysed. A high-level committee has been established to ensure a thorough and transparent probe, adhering to international aviation safety protocols. Rajeshbhai Patni, a 47-year-old auto-rickshaw driver, was dropping off passengers near the hostel when the flight crashed. He witnessed the devastating moment firsthand as the aircraft collided with the building. 'I saw the plane exploding when it hit the roof. I saw red and black flames emerging from the building. I left my autorickshaw and ran for my life,' recounted Patni, who sustained injuries on his chest and leg. Sandeep Datani, who runs a coconut stall approximately 2km from the crash site, rushed to the scene after spotting smoke. 'I saw smoke rising and rushed to see what happened. There was another blast and that's when I started running,' said Datani, who escaped unhurt.
