Marvel Studios' long-awaited reboot 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' is set to hit theatres this weekend, and early reactions from fans are pouring in across social media. While many viewers are calling the Pedro Pascal–Vanessa Kirby starrer a step in the right direction for the beloved superhero franchise, others are left underwhelmed, saying the film 'plays it safe' and struggles to leave a lasting impression.
The initial wave of Twitter reactions paints a mixed picture. Those who loved the film, are applauding its striking visuals, character chemistry, and emotionally grounded storytelling. One fan wrote,'#TheFantasticFour is a breath of fresh air for the MCU. It delivers all the humour & action you want but it has its own cinematic language & vibe. It features some of the best world building of the MCU.'

But Not Everyone's Impressed
However, the response hasn't been universally positive. Critics on social media have pointed out issues with pacing, character development, and even casting. One review bluntly stated, '#FantasticFour 2025 is a stylistic shell with zero soul. The retro-futuristic visuals look lifeless… the script lacks emotional weight — family 'drama' falls flat, and characters feel disconnected.'
Another user described the film as rushed, writing, 'Easily best of all attempts, which isn't saying much… Has some issues, mostly the fact I think it's rushed, but cast, story, visual aesthetic, and score are all awesome. Could've been great if studio let it breathe.'
