Pat Surtain's dad narrates great video after PS2's DPOY award
Pat Surtain II is the 2024 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
The Denver Broncos star cornerback has made a name for himself the past few years as a lockdown cornerback with the metric stats to prove it. By helping the Broncos secure their first NFL playoff birth since their 2015 Super Bowl run, Surtain cemented himself as a defensive force to be reckoned with in 2024.
After he was named the NFL's DPOY last week, the Broncos' media team released a fantastic video dedicated to Surtain. The best part? The narration came from his dad, Pat Surtain Sr.
Surtain totaled 45 tackles and four interceptions last fall. In his 16 games, he only allowed 38 completions on 62 targets, according to Pro-Football-Reference. He was already considered the best cornerback in the NFL, now he's been recognized as the game's best defensive player overall.
Congratulations once again to Surtain for the tremendous honor. Hopefully, his success will continue and the Bronco's defense will build the franchise into Super Bowl contenders once again.

Advertisement If we are being truthful, that would be a relatively successful season for Schotty in Year 1. Yes, it isn't what this franchise or fan base wants. They want a Super Bowl, but as Schottenheimer stated this week, it's a process. Winning 10 games and making the playoffs would be validation that Dallas is on the right track under Schotty. Plus, that means the franchise takes it up to both the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders, two teams considered to be at the top of the NFC pecking order. And that would constitute a very good season for the Cowboys.
