Jessie J Reveals She Was Hospitalized 6 Weeks After Breast Cancer Surgery: ‘Not Expected'

Yahooa day ago
Singer Jessie J is facing an unexpected health setback as she continues to recover from breast cancer surgery.
'How I spent the last 24 hours,' Jessie, 37, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Sunday, August 3, sharing a photo of an IV connected to her arm. 'Six weeks post-surgery, and I was back in the same ward I was after my surgery. Not expected or planned.'
She added, 'I had, and still have, symptoms that pointed towards a blood clot on the lung. IT IS NOT A BLOOD CLOT, THANK GOD.'
According to the 'Price Tag' singer, her doctors ran a bunch of tests that concluded she had a currently unknown type of infection and 'a little fluid' in her lungs.

'Finding it hard to breathe in, but I discharged myself last night. I hate being in [the] hospital,' Jessie added in her social media update. '[I] will continue the investigation as an outpatient.'
In a follow-up slide, Jessie defended her decision to check out of the emergency room early.
'I know many people who will have gone through this or similar may agree with me or not, and that's OK,' she wrote. 'I know, for me, the true hard journey of this whole thing physically was the day I went into surgery. The recovery, physically, is far from quick or easy.'
Jessie revealed in June that she was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer that required surgical intervention to remove the malignant tissue. Jessie underwent the procedure on June 23, later revealing that all of the cancerous spots had been removed.
While Jessie has been recovering, her partner, Chanan Colman, has taken on the brunt of parenting duties with their 2-year-old son, Sky.

'Mentally it's been the most challenging time for me, especially as a mum with a toddler and being unable to be the mother I usually am,' Jessie explained in her Sunday post. 'And having to change the plans for my career for this year has been frustrating after working so hard to get to this point and excited to do it all. It's life, I know that.'
She added, 'Don't get me wrong — getting the all clear was and is incredible, but that result didn't speed up or make the recovery from the surgery any easier physically."
Jessie also wanted to remind herself to 'slow tf down' to let her body heal.
'This isn't a speedy recovery, and it isn't meant to be,' the musician said. 'That slow pace has been a hard reality to accept. I love moving and working and being up and active, but I can't be right now, and that's what it is. I am finding the strength in knowing that all can be adjusted to align with a slower pace and the support of my very small inner support circle.'

Brooke Hogan asked out of Hulk Hogan's will over family fears: ‘I don't know how deep this stuff goes'

Brooke Hogan has opened up about why she removed herself from Hulk Hogan's will in 2023. 'I was now pregnant with twins and married, and my husband's family is so kind and so sweet. And I have something to lose, money didn't matter,' the daughter of the WWE icon said Tuesday on former Hulk friend Bubba the Love Sponge's show. 'I was sobbing, and I just said, 'Take me off everything, I don't want to be a part of it.'' Hulk, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died at the age of 71 on July 24 after a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Fla. Brooke, 37, said she took herself off the will to avoid potential conflicts with other family members, including her mother, Linda Hogan, and Hulk's third wife, Sky Daily. Brooke expressed concern because Linda 'has been known to kind of find herself in the mix with things like that,' and because she had heard that Daily was a Scientologist, and knew the organization had 'powerful backing.' MediaPunch/Shutterstock 'I'm like, 'I don't want to fight Linda, I don't want to find Scientology, I don't want somebody that I love to get knocked off, I don't know how deep this stuff goes,'' Brooke said. 'It scared me, and I just said, 'I want out.'' She did qualify that remark by saying she had 'no problem' with Daily, who she said was always nice to her. She then added that she hopes her father would have trusted her with his intellectual property and trademarks, because she 'would have done the right thing.' 'And I hope that whoever has his marks does that. I just know that the people around him are pretty shady and not in his best interest.' Brooke was not in attendance at Hogan's 2023 wedding with Daily, and TMZ reported that Brooke and Hulk had their last conversation two weeks before the wedding. In an Instagram post last week, Brooke honored her father in a post that said: 'You were my everything and I will always be your daughter – for all the love, light and goodness you brought into this world.'

Would You Hire a Content Creator For Your Wedding?

When social media manager Kiley Leff began to book vendors for her multi-day wedding in Antigua, she ticked off the traditional boxes: florist, band, videographer, photographer and so on. But she also added one that previous generations had never thought to request: a wedding content creator. The job description of a wedding content creator? Someone to take candid iPhone photos—and videos—of her, her fiancée, and their 80 guests that they could post on social media. 'I love the idea of things that just don't look too hyper-polished. On your wedding day, you want people to really think and believe and see that this wasn't all just super fake or embellished,' Leff says. While scrolling on Instagram, she found just the people: Alexandra O'Connor and Lois Bellamy, founders of the bridal social media firm Content for Brides. O'Connor and Bellamy, two former brand social media editors, founded Content for Brides in 2023 over lunch at Shoreditch House in London. Their idea came from both an anecdotal hunch—many of their friends asked them to take fly-on-the-wall iPhone footage during their weddings—and a keen understanding of statistical trends: 76% of U.S. adults aged between 18 and 29 are active on Instagram and 59% are active on TikTok, according to the Pew Center. They're used to sharing even the most mundane aspects of their lives, and observing the lives of others, through their phones. Of course they want to post about their wedding days. And here's the thing: the aesthetic that reigns supreme on smartphones isn't high-resolution portraiture or stylized video. It's candid (or candid-seeming) handheld content. While a professional photographer delivers posed formal portraits meant to be framed for a lifetime—Gen-Z and Millennial brides, O'Connor and Bellamy figured, might want to view their wedding through a more off-the-cuff, lo-fi lens. 'I saw this disconnect in real life of brides really missing that instant, authentic, shareable content,' O'Connor says. Then, there were just the memories themselves: while generations prior kept everything in photo albums, many today store them on iPhones or in iClouds.

Sofia Carson Has Kept Her Love Life Incredibly Private—Here's All We Know

THE RUNDOWN Sofia Carson may be known for her romantic roles on-screen, but off-camera, she's made a point to keep her love life private. Over the years, the My Oxford Year star has been the subject of a few dating rumors, but she has rarely addressed her personal relationships publicly. Instead, throughout her career, Carson has consistently expressed her desire to keep her romantic life out of the spotlight. In a May 2019 interview with Cosmopolitan, she said, 'I've never tried dating apps. I made a decision about two years ago that I don't want to date anyone in the business...I'm dating my career.' Earlier, in a December 2017 interview with Coveteur, Carson shared that she had experienced heartbreak. 'I have gotten my heart broken,' she said, without naming names. 'My whole life I've been afraid of falling in love, just because that means being vulnerable and that you could get hurt.' Despite her preference for privacy, a few moments over the years have sparked public curiosity. Here's what we know about Carson's relationship history so far. In 2017, Carson celebrated actor Manolo Gonzalez Vergara's birthday on X, writing, 'Happy birthday to youuuu❤ love you my Cher loving twinn❤ all my love always @ManoloGonVer.' Her post helped fuel dating rumors. In February 2018, Gonzalez Vergara shared a video on Instagram of himself squatting while holding Carson, captioning it: 'Not being able to make it to the gym is no excuse for missing a work out. Just pick up your nearest Sofia and crush those front/back squats.' The pair never commented on the speculation, and there was no official confirmation of a relationship. In 2022, Carson starred opposite Nicholas Galitzine in Netflix's Purple Hearts, where their on-screen chemistry fueled speculation about an offscreen romance. They promoted the film together and even joked about their bond during interviews. On Aug. 2, 2022, Carson posted a photo with Galitzine on Instagram with the caption, 'remember that one time we got married @nicholasgalitzine.' Later that month, Carson posted a photo of her and Galitzine kissing, writing, 'my heart isn't mine now it's yours.' Despite the posts, neither actor confirmed a romantic relationship. When asked about keeping her private life out of the public eye, Carson told Extra in January 2022, 'To me, it's about my art and the music and the films that I put out into the world and not about my personal life. I still do love sharing personal moments that are special to me with fans, but it was definitely a choice to keep my private life private because it's not what this is about for me.' Carson was linked to Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans after the two worked together for the 2023 Global Citizen Festival. In May 2025, DeuxMoi ran a tip that suggested the pair was dating, per Cosmopolitan. However, there has been no confirmation or public acknowledgment of a relationship.
