Lorraine Kelly odds to quit ITV show amid episode axe and next career move revealed
Speculation is mounting the beloved presenter could walk away from fronting ITV's Lorraine altogether.
ITV bosses are reportedly appearing to be on the edge of giving Lorraine Kelly's flagship programme the chop after it was confirmed on Tuesday that ITV Lorraine will be sashed from being on 52 weeks of the year to just 30.
The running time will be cut to only 30 minutes, instead of the hour. Glasgow-born Lorraine, 65, has fronted her show on the platform since 2010 and been a firm TV favourite for over 40 years. However her crown as the queen of the small screen could reportedly be slipping, with her increasingly absent from being in the presenter's chair.
The TV mainstay is reported to have presented less than 60 per cent of editions of Lorraine in the past 18 months, with co-stars like Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh forced to step into the presenters chair in her absence.
Now, according to new odds from online bookmaker Betway, the BAFTA award-winner who was last year praised for her outstanding contribution to the small screen, is just 2/1 to walk away from her daytime show for good.
Meanwhile, a move to the BBC to host The One Show is now priced at 6/1 for Lorraine, who has been in the TV industry since the 1980s. Alternatively, she is 3/1 to swap the screen for the airwaves, and front her own radio show.
"Lorraine Kelly has been a cornerstone of ITV's daytime schedule for nearly 40 years," said Mike Reading, spokesperson at Betway.
"But recent years have seen increasing speculation over the number of guest hosts stepping in for her.
"With the latest round of ITV cuts scaling back her flagship show, this could be the tipping point that sees her decide to step away for good."
So, what could the Scot's next career move be if she actually does bite the bullet and leave Lorraine?
Betway's odds have put the mum-of-one at 3/1 to host her own radio show, 6/1 to move to the BBC and host The One Show, and 6/1 to undertake other journalism work, as she does boast an illustrious career as a news correspondent, having covered major events like the Lockerbie bombing and the Piper Alpha disaster.
Elsewhere, Lorraine is 10/1 to front Good Morning Britain.
And she is placed at the same odds (10/1) to become a contestant on I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
If the ballroom is more her scene, Lorraine is 20/1 to star in Strictly Come Dancing.
She is also 25/1 to host her own Netflix magazine show and 25/1 also to even join an ITV soap opera.

"She could return to her roots, and front Good Morning Britain, which has been unchanged in the ITV revisions, and shares a namesake with where she began her daytime TV career in Scotland," Mike went on to reason.
"Lorraine was also instrumental in the launch of GMTV, the precursor to today's GMB, making it a fitting potential home for her next chapter."
The betting man concluded by asking: "Lorraine has previously ruled out joining reality series like Celebrity Traitors UK due to her packed schedule, but if she does decide to leave could she be tempted to try something new?"

"Can I just say if your two sons don't want to do this, you call me," he offered. He then laughed and mused over an enticing possibility: "I might retire here. The mastermind behind hits like Downton Abbey, Gosford Park, The English Game, and The Gilded Age has conjured up another captivating tale, Belgravia, set in 19th century England. This six-part drama kicks off with a pivotal historical event - the Duchess of Richmond's ball in June 1815, which took place just 48 hours prior to the Battle of Waterloo. At its core, Belgravia revolves around the intricate lives of the Trenchard and Bellasis families, expertly navigating a complex web of scandals, romance, societal pressures, and class politics, quintessential elements of the period drama genre. Under the creative guidance of Fellowes, and directed by John Alexander, Belgravia is an adaptation of Julian's 2016 novel of the same name. Notably, it brings together the same production team that brought Downton Abbey to life, reports the Mirror US. Widely regarded as the champion of period dramas, comparisons to Julian's monumental success with Downton Abbey are almost unavoidable. Weighing in on this very aspect in an interview with Town and Country, Julian said: "I think [Belgravia] it's darker than Downton. "The servants are working people; they're doing their jobs because those are the jobs that were available. It's not sentimental. "It's a sharper world." The limited series first aired in the UK on ITV on 15 March 2020, and made its US debut on Epix on 12 April 2020. A sequel series, Belgravia: The Next Chapter, was quickly greenlit and announced in September 2022, with the show making its premiere on ITV in January 2024, under the pen of Helen Edmundson. The cast boasts a wealth of talent, including Alice Eve, Ella Purnell, Tamsin Greig, Richard Goulding, and Emily Reid, alongside Tom Wilkinson, Harriet Walter, Philip Glenister, and Tara Fitzgerald. Critics have had varied responses to the show, with one saying: "Belgravia has all the touchstones of a bodice-ripper. Great romance and thrilling revenge. And Jennie added: "I think Harry has always been more Spencer than Windsor, so if he was ever going to change his name, it would be to Spencer. "But this would be a final nail in the coffin of his relationship with his father and his brother. It would amount to a public declaration that he no longer saw himself as part of the royal family." There has been continued controversy over the Sussexes' HRH titles since the pair quit their royal roles five years ago. As part of their Megxit negotiations with the Palace, Meghan and the Duke of Sussex agreed to stop using 'Her Royal Highness' and 'His Royal Highness' at the end of March 2020. They still retain the styles, with Harry having had his since birth, but they are essentially held in abeyance. However, earlier this year, it emerged Meghan had used her HRH style on a gift basket sent to make-up entrepreneur Jamie Kern Lima last year, with a monogrammed card reading: 'With Compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex'. Kern Lima showed an image of the present in footage of her podcast interview with Meghan. It contained a jar of Meghan's jam which she has started selling as part of her As Ever lifestyle business brand. A source described the basket as a 'personal gift'. The duchess's representatives denied that the couple used them, but a source later said that the Sussexes did not use HRH publicly but retained the style, and did not use it for commercial purposes.
