Corrie confirms fate of long-running couple in ITVX release but a secret bubbles

Metro3 days ago
This article contains spoilers for tonight's Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX.
Kevin Webster's (Michael Le Vell) cancer lie was finally exposed to Abi Webster (Sally Carman) in tonight's Coronation Street, with devastating consequences.
The mechanic was diagnosed with testicular cancer earlier this year, and was given the all clear a few months later. However, he told Abi that he needed more chemotherapy in a bid to stop her from leaving him.
In tonight's episode, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) finally told Abi the truth – much to Kev's disapproval.
Abi was understandably horrified to learn that Kevin had been lying about his health, causing her to worry for several weeks.
As Abi demanded answers, Kevin explained that he thought his illness was the only thing stopping her from leaving him for his brother Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard).
Though Abi insisted there was nothing going on between her and Carl, viewers know that tension has been bubbling between them since the moment he arrived in Weatherfield.
In fact, she headed straight to Carl after walking out of the argument with Kevin, and it wasn't long before the two of them locked lips, before taking things even further.
Following their afternoon fling, Carl paid Kevin a visit, who warned him in no uncertain terms to stay away from Abi.
Kevin threatened to report Carl to the police for his MOT scam, and made it clear he didn't care if he was brought down too.
However, Carl wasn't willing to take the risk, and later called time on his relationship with Abi, telling her that her leaving Kevin would destroy him.
When Abi headed home to pack her things, Kevin begged her to stay, but she made it clear that she couldn't forgive his lies. More Trending
Though Abi was ready to end things, a conversation with Jack Webster (Kyran Bowes) changed her mind, after he begged her not to leave.
Kevin was relieved to learn that Abi wasn't going anywhere, but she made it clear that nothing had changed between them – she was only staying for the sake of the kids.

Does John die on Emmerdale and is Oliver Farnworth leaving the ITV soap? Future 'sealed'

John Sugden is played by actor Oliver Farnworth and he's been at the centre of a massive storyline after trying to kill multiple people in the village so he could save them John Sugden might have arrived in Emmerdale just a few months ago but he has caused a storm of chaos in his wake. Oliver Farnworth, who previously appeared in Coronation Street, joined as the enigmatic John - but trouble was ahead. ‌ Speaking at the time of him joining the show, Emmerdale 's Producer, Laura Shaw, shared: "We are thrilled to have an actor with Oliver's talent and presence join the Emmerdale family. ‌ "The Sugden's have always been central to Emmerdale, and introducing a new member opens up exciting possibilities for future storylines. Mysterious John's arrival will no doubt create a stir in the village for Victoria and the wider community." It comes as a final showdown looms for John on Emmerdale - with three characters involved. ‌ Oliver also added: "I am absolutely delighted to be joining the cast of Emmerdale. The show has such a rich history, and the Sugden family is integral to that. I'm looking forward to bringing my character to life and working with such a talented and dedicated team." Since his arrival, John has struck up a romance with Aaron Dingle - and the pair are now married, despite Robert Sugden's desperate attempt to keep them apart. Robert is the only one suspicious of John, with everyone convinced he is a good person. ‌ We known John has killed Nate and nearly killed his ex Aidan, as well as causing Jacob to fall ill so he could save him. He has also orchestrated a number of things against other villagers, letting them take the blame so he could act as their support. Tonight's episode of Emmerdale - which is already available on ITVX - will no doubt leave fans concerned what the future holds for both a fan favourite character and also evil serial killer John. Oliver Farnworth's future has yet to be revealed on the show but there has been talks of a downfall soon for John. Amy Walsh - who plays Tracy - appeared to address Owen being framed, telling us: "It's a bit of a rollercoaster. There is a shift with some new evidence that comes into play, but we don't know if it's evidence planted by John. "Someone else might be put in the frame by John and it's neither of them, Cain or Tracy. So there is another twist and turn there. To be honest we're still filming stuff so we have only just been filming the bits where Tracy is accepting that it's not Cain and they're thinking who else it could be." From spoilers for next week, we do know that John is alive, as he tries to persuade a sceptical Aaron to go easy on Robert. But could John's exit from the village come sooner than he thinks - and will he get away with his crimes?

Coronation Street Daniel actor's real-life romance with co-star leaves fans floored

Coronation Street viewers were left picking their jaws up off the floor as they realised that Daniel Osbourne star Rob Mallard is dating a well-known soap star Coronation Street viewers were stunned to discover that Rob Mallard, who portrays Daniel Osbourne, is in a relationship with a fellow soap star. ‌ Daniel, brought to life by Rob since 1995, has become an integral part of the show as Ken Barlow's (William Roache) son, entangled in numerous high-stakes plots. ‌ His Weatherfield journey has been anything but dull, marked by tumultuous love affairs, a near-fatal attack on his father, and the tragic loss of his wife Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn). ‌ Recently, Daniel's woes continued as he faced heartache when Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) departed from the street after a five-year stint. ‌ However, it's Rob Mallard's off-screen romance that has left fans agape, as they learned he's dating a familiar face from the soap world, reports OK!. Earlier in the year, Rob's partner Matthew Martin made a cameo on the cobbles as a police officer who arrested Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) in a nail-biting scene. ‌ Matthew took to Instagram in February to express his excitement about his role, posting a photo with Rob and praising him for his support. He captioned the post: "Ey mam! I'm on the telly box! Quite a surreal time being pulled in SUPER last minute to step in as a Policeman to arrest Cassie Plummer. All thanks to @mossy737 for giving me the opportunity to work on the iconic show that is @coronationstreet and of course my lad @ for being the biggest support and showing me the ropes." ‌ Fans were absolutely stunned after working out why Matthew looked so familiar to them. One viewer exclaimed: "I thought I recognised them well then! !" Another fan wrote: "Amazing and well done. How wonderful for Rob too. This is a great photo of you both!" A third added: "Bring you boyfriend to work day! amazing xx." In the past, Rob was romantically linked with fellow cast member Daniel Brocklebank, who portrays vicar Billy Mayhew on the cobbles. The soap actors were an item in 2017 and made their official public appearance as a couple at the British LGBT awards. Nevertheless, they parted ways just two months after confirming their romance publicly.

The actress - who plays Bernie Winter in the ITV soap - has put pen to paper for another year on the cobbles after revealing she only joined the soap to pay for her new bathroom. 2 Jane Hazlegrove will remain on Coronation Street for at least another year Credit: ITV 2 Bernie collapses on her wedding day struggling to breathe Credit: ITV And it means she's escaped the axe as bosses scramble to save costs. Jane first appeared on the cobbles in 2019 as Gemma Winter and Paul Foreman's estranged mother Bernie, but since then she's become a fan favourite. And luckily for them, she's going nowhere. Speaking to My Weekly, Jane revealed: 'I only came into Coronation Street for 10 episodes to get a new bathroom. 'I'd run out of money and when they said, 'Will you come and do Corrie for a bit?' I thought, 'Yes! That will pay for a nice white suite!. 'I've been here for six years now and I've just signed for another year. It's a lovely place to work. I feel very blessed.' The star's character Bernie is set to marry Dev Alahan next week in a huge soap wedding - but typically things go horrifically wrong. As she heads to the ceremony, Bernie realises she's forgotten a locket from her late son Paul so heads back to the house. But while there she finds it being burgled and she confronts them - before eventually rushing over to tie the knot. However after arriving and dancing herself down the aisle Bernie suffers a health emergency and stops breathing. Jane explained: 'Suddenly Bernie can't breathe, the poor love, and ends up in A&E. 'They've lost the plot!' rage Coronation Street viewers as they call out baffling Bernie Winter blunder 'Dev, and a lot of people, think she's on her way out because it's quite serious. 'She is really frightened, this has come from nowhere and she can't breathe. It' s terrifying. Is she going to be okay?' She added: 'That's what is so brilliant about Coronation Street, you don't know what you're going to get until you open the page of the script and that's what is so fantastic about how it plays out – we've got this woman raving down the aisle and the next minute she's in casualty, pardon the pun! Coronation Street's 2024 shock exits Corrie has said goodbye to several cast members this year. Let's break down who's left the famous soap: Eliza Woodrow (Savannah Kunyo) has said farewell to Corrie to start a new life in Germany. The youngster moved to live with her dad Dom Everett, who went back on the £10,000 bribe Eliza's grandfather Stu had offered to keep him out of her life. Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) will bow out of the soap this summer when he loses his fight with motor neurone disease (MND) in tragic scenes. After being diagnosed last year, the fan favourite was devastated to learn he only had months left to live. Viewers know he is planning to take his own life to end his suffering. Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) departed the cobbles after being offered the opportunity of a lifetime to study in America. Though she struggled to decide with her stepdad Paul's impending death from MND, she was convinced she had to live her life to the full. Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) has struggled with the sudden departure of his father Peter from the cobbles. The Weatherfield legend left his family and loved ones behind on Boxing Day, 2023, when his wife Carla Connor encouraged him to travel around the world with a friend. Simon's been on a downward spiral ever since and his exit could end in tragedy. Alya Nazir is set to leave the cobbles as actress Sair Khan prepares to go on maternity leave ahead of the birth of her first child. It looks likely she'll be heading to Dublin after securing a lucrative new job, leaving her colleague and fling Adam Barlow behind. Show stalwart Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw, is taking a break to star in the Sister Act The Musical UK tour. She will be back filming in May once her dates on the tour come to an end. Her character left the Street after her son Jason broke his back after falling off a moped in Asia. 'The writers throw all kinds of things at you and you just hope and pray you give credence and justice to whatever they've written. 'Who knows what Bernie is going to do next, that's why I love playing her.'
