Box Office Triumph of 'Saiyaara'
Today, he has tasted gargantuan success with his debut film ' Saiyaara ,' but Ahaan Pandey has always been a certified Bollywood buff. An old video of the actor lip-syncing to the popular chartbuster 'Agar Tum Mil Jao' has gone viral on the subreddit BollyBlindsGossip. Netizens gushed on his unrepentant passion for Bollywood and how he had never tried to hide it.Sharing the clip, one Reddit user wrote, 'Bro's been training for his Saiyaara debut for a long time... it shows!'Reddit users praised his dedication, with one commenting that Ahaan seemed to have been preparing for Saiyaara long before he officially stepped into the industry. Many users were touched by the video, noting that it was refreshing to see a star kid who genuinely appreciates and respects Hindi cinema instead of treating it as just another career path. One Redditor remarked that while they usually criticize nepotism, Ahaan appeared to be an exception—someone whose love for Bollywood feels sincere and earned.Another user joked about Ahaan being with YRF for six years without any major script or launch, emphasizing his patience and commitment. Unlike other privileged actors from film families who often show more interest in Western pop culture and Hollywood, Ahaan remained loyal to his Bollywood roots, the comment pointed out. Some netizens even noted that Ahaan might have been mocked by his contemporaries for being overly enthusiastic about Indian cinema. Yet, with Saiyaara now dominating the box office, it's clear who's having the last laugh.Incidentally, the song 'Agar Tum Mil Jao' is from the 2005 Mohit Suri directorial 'Zeher'. The movie starred Emraan Hashmi and Udita Goswami.Ahaan Pandey's cinematic journey hit a major milestone with Saiyaara, which not only became a massive hit but also made him and co-star Aneet Padda the first debutants to headline a film that crossed the Rs 400 crore mark globally.According to Sacnilk's box office data, director Mohit Suri's romantic drama raked in an impressive Rs 270 crore within the first 12 days of its theatrical release. This exceptional performance has cemented Saiyaara as one of the biggest openings for first-time lead actors in recent Bollywood history.

This 2-hour-17-minute superhit thriller in which actress turns into snake, movie name is... , lead actress was...

It's been 39 years since Nagina first slithered into theatres, yet when people talk about 'naag-naagin' films, one name instantly flashes in memory, Sridevi. Released in 1986, the 2-hour-17-minute fantasy thriller was directed by Harmesh Malhotra and starred Sridevi, Rishi Kapoor, and Amrish Puri in unforgettable roles. The story, penned by Jagmohan Kapoor, Ravi Kapoor, and Achala Nagar, revolved around a shape-shifting serpent woman, an 'ichchadhari naagin' whose love story turns into a tale of revenge. What Was Nagina About? Sridevi played Rajni, a mysterious woman who falls in love with and marries Rajiv (Rishi Kapoor). Unknown to him, Rajni is an ichchadhari naagin. Their seemingly perfect life takes a sharp turn when Bhairon Nath, a snake charmer played by Amrish Puri, enters the scene. Bhairon Nath reveals to Rajiv's mother that Rajni's marriage is driven by revenge—stemming from her husband's death in childhood—and that she possesses a magical jewel, the 'mani.' His mission? To claim it. Using his hypnotic flute, he tries to force Rajni to reveal her serpent form, setting off a dangerous game of power and love. The Twist That Kept Viewers Hooked As the plot unfolds, Rajiv learns of Bhairon Nath's sinister plan. What follows is a gripping battle between supernatural power and human emotion, complete with dramatic confrontations, intense background scores, and Sridevi's legendary 'Main Teri Dushman' dance sequence, still considered one of Bollywood's most electrifying performances. Box Office Magic According to media reports, Nagina was made on a budget of around Rs 1.8–2 crore. Wikipedia estimates its box office haul at about Rs 13 crore, a massive hit for its time. Decades later, the film remains a cult favourite and is still available for viewing on YouTube, attracting new audiences and nostalgic fans alike. Beyond its supernatural premise, Nagina was a turning point in Sridevi's career, solidifying her status as one of Bollywood's most bankable and versatile stars. The chemistry between her and Rishi Kapoor, Amrish Puri's menacing presence, and Harmesh Malhotra's storytelling combined to create a film that continues to be celebrated nearly four decades later.

Mandala Murders Creator Gopi Puthran On Series' Global Success: 'Wanted To Create A Binge-Worthy...'

Curated By : Yatamanyu Narain Last Updated: August 02, 2025, 17:52 IST Director Gopi Puthran opens up about the overwhelming success of Mandala Murders, now the No. 1 Netflix series in India and among the global Top 10 non-English shows. YRF Entertainment's psychological crime drama Mandala Murders is riding high on critical acclaim and audience love. The series has stormed to the top of the Netflix India charts, becoming the No. 1 trending show in the country. Not just that, it has also broken into the global Top 10 in the non-English series category on the platform — a major feat for a homegrown thriller. The man behind this success, director and creator Gopi Puthran, is understandably thrilled. Speaking about the overwhelming response, Puthran shared, 'Originality of imagination has been the cornerstone for content that breaks out. From Mardaani to Mandala Murders, I have tried to do something new, and I've been empowered to push the envelope with every single project at YRF. I'm delighted with the response that Mandala Murders is getting from the audience." Calling the show 'risky" and 'ambitious," Puthran revealed that he set out to build a show that would challenge the viewer's mind and perceptions. 'I wanted to create a binge-able, mind-bending, genre-defying series with Mandala Murders. It was risky and very ambitious, and I'm very happy to see the initial response to the series," he said. A self-confessed fan of psychological thrillers, Gopi says the idea for Mandala Murders came from his love for dark, moody dramas that blur the line between reality and imagination. 'I'm a big fan of crime dramas that leave you on the edge of what is real, what is imagination and what is occult — if it exists in today's world," he explained. He cited shows like True Detective, The Sinner, Twin Peaks, and Sharp Objects as inspirations. 'They explore how the mind can push people to the edge of belief and disbelief. If Mandala Murders is doing that to audiences in India with a story and a concept rooted in our culture, it is truly delightful." With strong performances, a haunting narrative, and visual storytelling that challenges convention, Mandala Murders is quickly cementing itself as a must-watch in India's evolving streaming landscape. ‘I Just Focus On My Game': Virat Kohli's Nephew Aryaveer Aims To Leave His Own Mark

Aryaveer Kohli, Virat Kohli's nephew, is a teenage legspinner who idolises Shane Warne among bowlers and is a fan of his chachu's batting. The surname Kohli needs no introduction if you are a cricket fan. A stalwart, modern-day great, a legend…there's no dearth of adjectives to describe the superstar that is Virat Kohli. His contribution to cricket goes beyond the jaw-dropping stats. He's a local hero to those hailing from Delhi, where he took the first steps towards international stardom. He recently stepped away from Test cricket and now will be available for just ODIs, having retired from T20Is last year. However, this space is not to reminisce about the legend of Virat. It's to shine the light on a 16-year-old boy hailing from the same Kohli family. The second edition of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) gets underway Saturday evening with the defending champions East Delhi Riders clashing with last year's runners-up South Delhi Superstarz. It could be just a game of T20 cricket, but for those who are aware, it's the match in which Virat's nephew could make his debut. Aryaveer Kohli is a teenage legspinner who idolises Shane Warne among bowlers and is (obviously) a fan of his chachu's batting. He was picked by South Delhi Superstarz in the players' auction last month for Rs 1 lakh. Son of Virat's elder brother Vikas, Aryaveer also trains at the West Delhi Cricket Academy under Rajkumar Sharma, like his famous uncle. Although he hasn't played for Delhi at the Under-16 or Under-19 level yet, his work ethic impressed the DPL team enough to pick him in their squad for the second season of the T20 tournament. Before plying his trade with the seniors, Aryaveer spoke to CNN-News18 Cricketnext in an exclusive interview. The teenager, who struggled to zero in on what motivates him, is quite clear that there's no baggage of the big surname that has put him in the spotlight. 'The atmosphere in the dressing room is very chill," Aryaveer said. 'The preparations are going well. Sarandeep sir has been helping me a lot from the first day itself to improve my bowling." At the inaugural season last year, Priyansh Arya and Digvesh Rathi caught attention and eventually became IPL stars, which has raised the profile of DPL. Should Aryaveer get a game, there will be comparisons, scrutiny, expectations and more. But the young lad is unfazed by the outer noise, with the focus squarely on his game. 'I don't think much about it. I mean, I have come to play, and that is what I think about. There is a lot of excitement. It is a big platform. It will be fun," he added. On the other hand, South Delhi's head coach Sarandeep, has been fielding plenty of questions surrounding Aryaveer Kohli. The media is keen to know about the little Kohli, and the head coach said that the youngster will definitely give his best when his time comes. 'I'm working with Aryaveer, but I don't think about his surname. He's a nice boy, training really hard in the nets and trying to give his best all the time. In fact, he comes to training before time. So, I think that gene has been inherited," Sarandeep Singh told CNN-News18. 'But as of now, he is very young but focused on his game. Whenever his time comes, he will definitely perform well and do his best," he added. A boy of few words, Aryaveer, may be new to this game of dealing with the media, but he definitely knows that he's going to be a team man. 'I will definitely try to give my best," he concluded with a smile. Under the dynamic leadership of captain Ayush Badoni, the South Delhi Superstarz Men's squad is confident and well-balanced. In what promises to be a blockbuster opening clash, the South Delhi Superstarz Men's team will square off against the East Delhi Riders at 7:00 PM under the lights, setting the tone for an exciting season ahead.
