Cabinet minister distributes Ayushman Bharat cards to beneficiaries
Speaking to people in Janakpuri locality, Mr. Sood said that people in Delhi are getting an extra benefit of ₹5 lakh under Ayushman Bharat scheme in addition to the ₹5 lakh health coverage provided under the same by the government of India. Setting a national benchmark, the rest of the money is top-up by the Delhi government, he added.
He also criticised the previous government for deliberately stalling this public welfare scheme, thereby depriving millions of Delhiites of quality healthcare services.
Ms Singh, who distributed the health cards in Vikaspuri, said that illness will no longer be a financial burden on the residents of Delhi, who can now access medical care without hesitation or obstacles at empanelled hospitals not just in the capital but across the country.
'This scheme guarantees both accessibility and quality of treatment. It is not just a health protection initiative but also a step towards restoring dignity and confidence in every family,' she added.

Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned from his post, citing health reasons and the need to follow medical advice, on July 21. The resignation was addressed to the President of India. 'To prioritise healthcare and abide by medical advice, I hereby resign as the Vice President of India, effective immediately, in accordance with Article 67(a) of the Constitution,' Dhankhar wrote in his letter to the President. C P Radhakrishnan, born on October 20, 1957, in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, is currently serving as the 24th Governor of Maharashtra. He assumed office on July 31, 2024, after previously serving as the Governor of Jharkhand from February 2023 to July 2024. In 2024, he also held additional charges as the Governor of Telangana and the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. Radhakrishnan began his political career as an RSS worker and was part of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh's Tamil Nadu executive in 1974. He was elected twice as a Member of Parliament from Coimbatore in 1998 and 1999. Between 2004 and 2007, he served as the Tamil Nadu State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In addition to political responsibilities, Radhakrishnan was Chairman of the Coir Board, Kochi, from 2016 to 2020. From 2020 to 2022, he was the BJP's All-India in-charge for Kerala.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurates Regency Hospital in Gorakhpur
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath (ANI) GORAKHPUR: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday inaugurated Regency Hospital at Medical College Road in Gulharia, Gorakhpur. Addressing the event, CM Yogi Adityanath said that the hospital has "the biggest ICU to date," mentioning its 80-bed ICU capacity and noted that the hospital will benefit over five crore people. "The 80-bed ICU is the biggest ICU to date. You will see in the entire hospital how all precautions have been taken, which often leads to the spread of infection. If attention is not paid to any hospital, then it can become a medium of infection. This superspeciality hospital will become an excellent centre of health care for the five crore population of this region. There is no doubt about that. CM Yogi further highlighted that the hospital will give an ease of access to high-quality facilities in Gorakhpur, for which the common man has to go to cities like Lucknow, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, or Chennai. According to a press release, while addressing the gathering, CM Yogi said that Mathura reflects 5,000 years of ancient history and devotion. The chief minister announced a new master plan of Rs 30,000 crore for the holistic development of the Braj region. He said this plan will connect pilgrimage sites like Mathura, Vrindavan, Barsana, and Gokul with the memories of the Dwapar Yuga. He said, "Our government is committed to respecting the sentiments of revered saints and enriching the Braj region. We are making possible the works which were once considered impossible." He also mentioned the ropeway facility in Barsana, calling it a great relief for the elderly. He said, "This is the benefit of development, that we are continuously working for the convenience and safety of devotees". The chief minister noted that India has completed 78 years of independence and highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's vision of new resolutions for the centenary in 2047. Referring to the recent 24-hour discussion in the UP Assembly, he said society and government must work together to make Uttar Pradesh prosperous and developed by 2047.
