I Made A Bonkers Pizza I Saw In A Disney Cartoon, And I'm Shocked Because It Was Actually Really Good?!
BuzzFeed, Disney Jr. / Via youtube.com
In case you're wondering, you can find Disney Jr. shows on their popular YouTube Channel, their own TV network, and, of course, Disney+.
And one of the premiere shows on Disney Jr. is the brand new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+, which is a revival of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, which many of you may remember from the mid-2000s to mid-2010s.
As a mom, I was impressed by how fun and interactive Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ is. In fact, in one of the episodes, Goofy Pizza, everyone's favorite anthropomorphic dog shares a bonkers pizza recipe involving hot dogs and pickles. And, IDK if it's my recent lack of sleep that inspired me, but as someone who loves making food I see in movies and shows, as I was watching, I thought, Should I...try to make this IRL?!
Well, spoiler alert, I did. And, turns out it's super easy (and surprisingly good?!). Here's how it went...
First of all, here's everything I used to make the pizza based on what Goofy used in the show:
—Pizza dough
—Pizza sauce
—Shredded cheese
—Hot dogs
—Pickles
—Onion
—Ketchup
—Mustard
Just like Goofy, I started with the pizza dough. To make things easy, I used premade pizza dough from Trader Joe's. I've had this before and it's really good (IYKYK).
Next, Goofy added the "tomater sauce," which I interpreted as pizza sauce. Again, I went with Trader Joe's pizza sauce because *Ina Garten voice* "store-bought is fine."
Then it was time for the cheese. Now, in the video, they really don't add much cheese, which I was concerned about. But, for accuracy's sake, I also used a sparing amount.
Then it was time for some sliced onions. Onions obviously aren't a strange pizza topping, but it's not something I normally get. So, again, I had some concerns.
Then it was time for pickles. YUP. PICKLES. I think we can all agree that putting pickles on pizza is not ~common~, yes? Obviously, people have done it, but it's not something most of us would gravitate towards. I also wondered if this might make the pizza taste more like a burger?
Next, the pièce de résistance, six whole (not sliced) hot dogs. If there's anything about this pizza that screams "Goofy," it's whole hot dogs.
Then I popped the pizza in the oven and per the TJ's dough instructions, let it cook for 10 minutes.
Obviously, unlike Goofy's pizza, my hot dogs did not come out with grill marks, LOL. But, I'm not gonna lie, it smelled pretty good when I took the pizza out of the oven.
Also, mildly jealous that Goofy's cartoon pizza miraculously had A LOT more cheese after cooking. *side eye*
And the final touch: adding ketchup and mustard to the hot dogs.
*Chef's kiss*
I thought the pizza looked cute, albeit questionable, when it was done. But I had MAJOR reservations about how it would taste. I legitimately thought it would be gross, LOL.
To my huge surprise...it was actually REALLY GOOD?!
The pizza basically tasted like a good hot dog, but with better bread. In a way, it was like eating an open-faced hot dog, I guess? You really don't taste the pizza sauce; it's kind of an afterthought. And, turns out, not having that much cheese was actually perfect. I think if there had been more cheese, the whole thing would've been too greasy combined with the hot dogs.
IMO, this would be something really fun to make with older children (my son is still really little, so he did not partake in the hot dog pizza LOL), but honestly, it'd be a fun and ridiculously easy thing for adults to make on their own, too.
In the words of Goofy himself, "Gawrsh!" Who knew a cartoon pizza could turn out this good?!

Gal Gadot says 'pressure' to speak out against Israel hurt 'Snow White' at box office
Gal Gadot is weighing in on the box office failure of "Snow White." The "Wonder Woman" star, 40, discussed the financial disappointment of the Disney live-action remake during a recent appearance on "The A Talks," an Israeli TV show, according to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter. Gadot, who was born in Israel and was a combat fitness instructor in the Israel Defense Forces during her mandatory two years of service, theorized the movie's performance was affected by pressure on celebrities to speak out against her home country. Rachel Zegler, who played Snow White in the film opposite Gadot's Evil Queen, was outspoken in her support for Palestine ahead of the movie's release. "There's pressure on celebrities to speak against Israel," said Gadot, speaking in Hebrew, according to a translation published by Variety. "And, you know, it happened. I can always explain and try to give context about what's happening here. And I always do that. But in the end, people make their own decisions. And I was disappointed that the movie was incredibly affected by all of that and that it didn't do well at the box office. But that's how it goes. You win some, you lose some." Despite speculation of bad blood between the two "Snow White" actresses, though, Gadot also said she enjoyed working with Zegler. "We laughed and we talked, we had fun," she said, per The Hollywood Reporter. Gadot added that she was "positive the movie was going to be a huge hit" before its release. But "Snow White" underperformed at the box office in March, earning $87 million in North America. By comparison, Disney's live-action "The Little Mermaid" remake made $298 million at the domestic box office, and the "Lilo & Stitch" remake took in $421 million domestically. After the film's poor performance, Jonah Platt, son of "Snow White" producer Marc Platt, publicly blamed Zegler, who posted "free Palestine" on X in August 2024 after thanking fans for watching the movie's trailer. In a since-deleted Instagram comment, Platt slammed Zegler "for dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie for which she signed a multi-million dollar contract to get paid and do publicity for." Platt added that the actress' "actions clearly hurt the film's box office." Zegler never directly responded to Platt's claims. But in a June i-D magazine profile, the "West Side Story" star defended voicing support for Palestine and argued that "a platform becomes a responsibility, and that responsibility is ours to use as we please." Zegler noted "there are obviously things that are at stake by being outspoken," but "nothing is worth innocent lives," adding, "My heart doesn't have a fence around it, and if that is considered my downfall? There are worse things." Gadot, meanwhile, told Variety in March that her "conscience is clean" about advocating for hostages of Hamas and speaking out in support of Israel. "I am praying for better days for all," she told the outlet at the time. "I want everybody to have good life and prosperity, and the ability to raise their children in a safe environment." KING OF THE HILL Creators Talk About Their Decision to Keep Bobby's Original Voice Actor — GeekTyrant
King of the Hill is a fan-favorite series that has viewers excited to see it return. The show began in 1997, and ran for 13 seasons before leaving, but it now has a plan for making at least two more seasons, which fans are pretty pumped about. The show welcomes back its original cast, but one character's voice was actually debated by the show's creators before their return was decided. While it was easy to welcome back the returning cast members like Hank and Peggy, who look the same as they did in the original run, one character was a bit trickier to decide on. In a move surprising to some, the Hills' son Bobby was shown in the trailer to have actually aged in the time since the show left the air. This invites a whole new type of storylines for the character, and I think it was a good move. But would the adult Bobby sound the same as his teen self? The creators ultimately decided yes, and voice actress Pamela Adlon talked about her return to the character while at San Diego Comic-Con, where she told CinemaBlend: 'I was like, 'OK, what are we doing?' I did all my research. Adults whose voices never changed? I googled it. I'm grateful to be doing it, but you don't want Bobby to fall in between somebody who sounds very young and a middle-aged lady.' Showrunner Saladin Patterson explained that the reason they ultimately decided to give Bobby the exact same voice is that he decided that is what the fans would want: 'Greg and I had a conversation about what the fans are gonna really wanna see when they revisit this. We personally like hearing Pam just do Bobby, you know, not trying to change it, not trying to pitch it up, whatever, you know, we, we feel that that's going to be most comfortable for people to hear that voice they recognize and it's Pam. I mean it's magical, right? So you know why, why tweak the magic?' The character Bobby has such a specific voice. It really would have been weird if he sounded much different. I look forward to seeing how the show picks up and plays out this time around. King of the Hill season 14 returns this week.

Disney's Got a Cool ‘Andor' Zine for Emmy Season
With less than a month to go before the Emmys, Disney's pulling out all the stops to make sure Andor takes home some gold. Not only did it recently release the script for 'Welcome to the Rebellion,' one of its best season two episodes, it's also getting the word out through the power of the press. As Disney describes it, the REBELIÓN zine celebrates 'our 14 Emmy® nominations, the filmmakers, talent, and incredible craftspeople who were responsible for bringing this show to life,' and has already been sent out to press and voters. Per a now-deleted tweet, Los Angeles residents can pick up a copy at locations like Atwater Village's Secret Headquarters, Echo Park's Stories and Heavy Manners Zine Library, while everyone else can peep the digital version here. Within its pages are the pitch of Andor's second season, propaganda posters featuring Cassian, Mon Mothma, and the Ghor, shots of key Empire characters, and concept art for the season. Showrunner Tony Gilroy also recently appeared at a pop-up event at West Hollywood's Kiosk-O-Thèque, which you can see below. ANDOR's creator Tony Gilroy and special guests at a secret Emmy® FYC pop-up at Kiosk-O-Thèque with Are We On Air?. Thank you to our attendees for stopping by and joining the Rebellion 📷 #FYC — Andor | A Star Wars Original Series (@andorofficial) August 16, 2025REBELIÓN is some of the last Andor media we're likely to get; season two's likely getting a physical release, but the only other known work coming is the series' art book in May 2026. Anyone looking to understand the show on a writing level is out of luck, since Gilroy previously said there's no plans to publish the series' full scripts as a means of safeguarding the show against generative AI. Too bad this is physical version isn't for everyone. The Emmys will air on Sunday, September 14, where we'll see if Andor takes home any gold for its last season. Want more io9 news?
