Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 3 finally confirmed with Netflix streaming boxing again

Independent06-03-2025
Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano will round out their historic trilogy on 11 July, as they clash at Madison Square Garden – live on Netflix.
In 2022, Taylor and Serrano squared off in the biggest women's boxing match of all time, before their rematch last November proved equally gripping and even further-reaching.
Irish icon Taylor narrowly won both fights, beating the Puerto Rican via split decision in their first bout and by unanimous decision in their rematch (but by just one point on every scorecard).
The first fight took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City, while the rematch served as the co-main event of Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul at the Dallas Cowboys' NFL stadium.
Their initial meeting saw the fighters take home the first seven-figure paydays in women's boxing history, and their sequel was reportedly viewed by 50m people on Netflix.
Now, Taylor and Serrano will return to the Garden, and to Netflix, as Serrano eyes revenge and her rival's undisputed super-lightweight titles.
Serrano, 36, is a four-weight world champion but failed to take the undisputed super-lightweight belts from Taylor, 38, in October. In 2022, she failed to take the undisputed lightweight straps from her rival.
'Here we go once again! THE TRILOGY!' Serrano tweeted on Thursday (6 May). 'July 11th on the best network @netflix we give the fans another one!
'TaylorSerrano3 [...] @TheGarden the scene of TaylorSerrano 1. I'm coming to do what I always do, give it my all. Hopefully the judges get it right although I have other intentions this time! Come watch it live or on Netflix, just DON'T MISS IT!!'
YouTuber-turned boxer Paul, who promotes Serrano, tweeted: 'All women's card, live on Netflix globally, from MSG, record paydays. Amanda Serrano. Katie Taylor. Two of the best ever. God is great.'

Russell Wilson lifts the lid on his new life in NYC with wife Ciara after signing $10.5m Giants deal

Russell Wilson insists he and wife Ciara already feel well at home in New York City after his move to the Giants earlier this year. The 36-year-old quarterback is gearing up for his debut Giants season after penning a one-year, $10.5million contract with the team on the back of his Pittsburgh Steelers departure in March. Following a year in Pittsburgh together, as well as two in Denver and roughly six in Seattle, Wilson has packed up and moved cities once again with R&B singer Ciara - whom he married midway through his legendary Seahawks spell in 2016. He has three children with Ciara - daughters Sienna, eight, and Amora, one, and son Win, five - while also acting as a stepfather to her other son Future Jr, 11. And his wife's love for music means the switch to the Big Apple has suited them both perfectly. 'I've been in New York a bunch in the past, I have a lot of family that have been here and lived here and stuff like that, but we love it here. It's just a great city. New York is amazing, Jersey as well,' Wilson said after his first practice with the Giants on Wednesday. 'I think what I love is the fans, the sports culture. Obviously for Ciara, the music culture is great too, and I think that's great. But I think just for me, I've always been a fast-paced guy. 'I don't know if everybody knows me really well. I'm constantly just highly focused. I was always taking 18 credits in college, playing football, baseball. I just like being occupied.' He then continued: 'And at the same time, the number one part of it all is the game that I love. That's the best part about it. I get to do what I love to do and these guys love doing it together and we're spending a lot of time together. 'So, these moments, like this training camp, is the part where you love those bonding [moments] at the hotel, the bonding early in the mornings, the late at night, the extra film, that time that you spend together talking ball. I mean that's the part that you forever remember.' When asked if Ciara pushed him to head to NYC, Wilson admitted: 'No, she loves New York. I love New York too, but it was all about ball.' Giants head coach Brian Daboll confirmed on Wednesday that Wilson will be his starting quarterback heading into the 2025 campaign. New York also signed Jameis Winston in free agency and selected Jaxson Dart in the first round of this year's draft, while Tommy DeVito is still on the roster. But Daboll said about his quarterback plan: 'These guys will be out here competing, but Russ is our starter.' Wilson, who won the Super Bowl with the Seahawks back in 2014, started 11 games last season for the Steelers; throwing 2,482 yards with 16 touchdowns, five interceptions and a 63.7 percent completion rate.

Packers move Bo Melton from WR to CB for training camp

July 23 - The Green Bay Packers are shifting Bo Melton from wide receiver to cornerback during training camp to see what he can do in the defensive secondary. Melton, 26, made eight receptions on 17 targets for 91 yards in 17 games as a second-year reserve last season, and has 24 career catches for 309 yards and one score in 22 games (one start). He has also caught three passes for 42 yards and one touchdown in three career playoff games. "Bo is going to spend most of his time at corner," Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said at a press conference on Wednesday. "We know what he can do for us as a receiver and on special teams. He's been an important part of our football team the last couple of years. We're excited to see what he might be able to do at corner on defense. "I think we switched his number to 16 because that looks a little bit better than the 80 he was running out there at camp," Gutekunst continued. "He'll spend most of his time, especially these first three or four weeks, at corner." Melton also is a gunner on special teams, and the team began to try him at cornerback during the offseason workout program. The Seattle Seahawks selected Melton in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Rutgers, where he played 56 games at receiver and had 164 catches for 2,011 yards and 11 touchdowns from 2017-21. His brother, Max Melton, 23, was a cornerback at Rutgers who plays for the Arizona Cardinals. "When (the change) was brought to my attention, I started working a little more, working with some DB trainers, and I feel like I'm good with the movements," Bo Melton said. "I just have to keep indulging in the playbook." Melton leaves a crowded wide receivers room headed by veterans Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson, the latter of whom is recovering from an ACL tear. The Packers went against their history and selected a wide receiver in the first round, speedster Matthew Golden, as well as third-round pick Savion Williams. Green Bay also signed seventh-year pro Mecole Hardman, 27, a three-time Super Bowl champion with Kansas City (2019, 2022-23). Among the veteran cornerbacks on the Packers are Keisean Nixon, Carrington Valentine and Nate Hobbs. Green Bay released two-time All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander on June 9 amid a contentious relationship between the two parties. The Packers were seeking to restructure his contract, frustrated over his lack of availability. Alexander, 28, appeared in just 14 games over the past two seasons combined. Alexander signed with the Baltimore Ravens on June 18. --Field Level Media

Nick Saban and Arch Manning both being lined up by shock NFL team for 2026, insider claims

The Cleveland Browns are eyeing shock moves for both Nick Saban and Arch Manning next year, NFL insider Colin Cowherd has sensationally claimed. After selecting Shedeur Sanders with the 144th overall pick in this year's draft, the Browns now have an extremely crowded quarterback room as the newly-arrived rookie battles it out with Dillon Gabriel, Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett for the starting spot. Deshaun Watson, who still has two years remaining on his fully guaranteed $230million contract, is also still on the roster. Yet according to Cowherd, the Browns are already keeping tabs on Texas quarterback Manning ahead of next year's draft - and he explained how bringing him to Cleveland could also attract Saban to the head-coaching job. 'This is the worst kept secret in the South,' the FS1 host said on his 'The Herd' show. 'Haslam, Jimmy, owner of the Browns — huge SEC, Tennessee booster - leans heavily on the Manning family. Very close to the Manning family. 'Saban is incredibly close not only to Jimmy Haslam, but also to the Manning family as well. So Saban, if he could land, I'm told, a top quarterback - like [Jim] Harbaugh going to the Chargers for [Justin] Herbert — he would take a phone call from the NFL. Cowherd also repeatedly stressed: 'This is not a conspiracy theory.' Saban, 73, brought the curtain down on his legendary college career in January 2024, but rumors swirled earlier last week that he was weighing up a return to the sidelines a couple of years after his final season in Tuscaloosa. Now the seven-time national champion, who has been working on ESPN's College GameDay since retiring, is being linked with the top job in Cleveland by Cowherd. Saban does have history with the Browns, too, after serving as their defensive coordinator under Bill Belichick from 1991-94. The Browns selecting Manning in next year's draft could be a big factor in tempting him out of retirement, though it remains to be seen which number pick they land after the 2025 NFL season. Heisman Trophy candidate Arch, the oldest son of Cooper Manning, is set to take over as starting quarterback for the Texas Longhorns later this year after predecessor Quinn Ewers declared for this year's NFL Draft. The 21-year-old earned two starts last season as Texas eventually slumped to defeat against Ohio State in the college football playoff semifinals. In his pair of starts, Manning completed 61 passes out of 90 while throwing for 939 yards and nine touchdowns.
