Nicole Kidman's Nine Perfect Strangers co-star opens up on 'intimate' scenes
Mark Strong, who stars in the second season of Nine Perfect Strangers, has opened up about his character David and his connection with Nicole Kidman's Masha.
Nine Perfect Strangers star Mark Strong has dished some details about his experience working alongside Nicole Kidman in the hit series.
Returning for a gripping second season with Nicole leading the cast, the suspenseful drama sees Mark playing the role of David, a wealthy dad on a transformative retreat with his son.
The renowned Kingsman actor, 61, hinted Nicole helped get him onboard with the show, and teased their "intimate" storyline.
While chatting on The One Show this evening (June 10), he hinted at a blossoming intimacy between their characters, quipping: "I'm sure she had to work out whether she wanted to get intimate with me.
"The storyline that we have, without giving too much away, becomes quite intimate," he confessed.
Host Alex Jones responded with "That's a huge compliment," to which Mark agreed.
Earlier in tonight's episode of The One Show on BBC, Mark delved into his character, stating: "It was nice to play a billionaire, I've got to that age where I'm the guy who has everything or knows everything so that's a good place to be."
He hinted at a significant plot development involving his and Nicole's characters, remarking: "There is a connection between his character and Nicole's character that comes out through the series."
Expressing his enthusiasm for the series, he added: "Drama TV needs plot, get nine people in a room, with their own problems, give them a load of psychedelics, and then see what happens, that's essentially what she did."
Jokingly concluding, he said: "Not my idea of a wellness retreat I have to say!"
The latest instalment of the psychological drama is teased in the show's plot summary: "Nine new strangers connected in ways they could never imagine are invited by mysterious guru Masha Dmitrichenko to join a transformational wellness retreat in the Austrian Alps.
"Over the course of a week, she takes them to the brink. Will they make it? Will she?
"Masha is willing to try anything in the interest of healing everyone involved, including herself."
The star-studded cast also includes Henry Golding, Lena Olin, Annie Murphy, Christine Baranski, Lucas Englander, King Princess, Murray Bartlett, Dolly de Leon, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Aras Aydin.
The One Show airs weekdays from 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer.

Jas, 27, said: 'This experience is something that I will never forget in my entire life. 'It was the most beautiful celebration of what it means to be queer. To have my name attached to that is such a pinch-me moment. I genuinely would do it a million times over.' He continued: 'I have loved her music since I was younger and loved watching her on The X Factor. 'I want to be the best role model that I possibly can be. I will not let this platform go to waste. I want to make an impact and help the community by spreading as much love and positivity as I possibly can. So that way, when I'm old and wrinkly in about a year's time, I can look back and be like, I did that.' Then I started to make friends, and we'd go and make a whole evening of it. It became my outlet and source of freedom. 'I love that you can literally be in Glasgow city centre and within an hour you can be surrounded by so much nature and peace. I am so proud to be Scottish. I'm so proud to be from Glasgow. It's one of the most incredible places full of people that are so friendly and there's a real sense of community just by being Glaswegian.' Hugo Duncan: BBC presenter receives MBE from Prince William
Radio presenter and singer Hugo Duncan has described receiving his MBE from the Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle as "a real honour".The BBC Radio Ulster presenter was awarded the accolade as part of the New Year Honours list, for his contributions to entertainment and the community in Northern 75, is known to his legions of fans of his long-running afternoon show on BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Radio Foyle as the "wee man from Strabane".Speaking after the ceremony at Windsor on Wednesday, Duncan said it had been a "great occasion". "Prince William was the man," he said, adding the pair had talked about Duncan's career as a broadcaster as well as a "bit of general chat"."It really was a special day, a great occasion. I even got dressed up, I had a tuxedo on, I was a dead ringer for the Penguin out of Batman".Duncan said there were three reasons he was thankful to receive the honour"Firstly for the community, then for the music and thirdly for my mum," he he was named among the New Year Honours list recipients in January, Duncan dedicated his award to his late mother Susie, who raised him as a single parent. At that time, he also acknowledged that in Northern Ireland some people do not support the honours on Wednesday, he reiterated that his decision to accept the award was not a political year, the BBC presenter was added to the Radio Awards Hall of Fame by the Irish Music Rights Organisation (Imro).

Winners of Race Across The World 2025 crowned
Housewife Caroline, 60, and 21-year-old Tom became the first mother-and-son team to win after reaching the final checkpoint in Kanniyakumari, the southernmost tip of mainland India, to claim their £20,000 prize. Four teams in the 14,100km (8,761-mile) race successfully crossed Asia, the world's largest continent, to make it to the finish line. During Wednesday's episode, Caroline and Tom had to find Vattakottai Fort where the final sign-in book was waiting. After turning the page to discover they were the first team to make it to the landmark they hugged, overcome with emotion. Writing their names in the book, Tom said: 'That's a really good feeling, I'm lost for words, I can't believe it. 'Fifty-one days racing through countries I never thought I'd go to. 'I never thought we'd come this far, I never thought we'd achieve so much and I've never been prouder of my mum – she got me through it.' Sisters Elizabeth and Letitia came second, just 19 minutes behind the winners, with teenage couple Fin and Sioned third. Brothers Brian and Melvyn arrived in fourth place, three hours and five minutes behind Caroline and Tom. The winning pair began the last leg in the lead, six hours and 54 minutes ahead of Elizabeth and Letitia. They started from the seventh checkpoint, Panaji in Goa with just over 1,000km (600 miles) to traverse across the southern Indian states to reach the finish line. Reflecting on their win, Tom said the race was 'the best experience of my life'. Caroline said: 'We've learnt so much, we've enjoyed it and to actually win it as well as to have the experience is the best thing that could have happened to us.' The contestants traversed areas of China, Nepal and India, covering more than 14,000km over 51 days. The teams will reunite for a special episode airing at 9pm on Wednesday June 18 on BBC One where they will reflect on the race and the impact it has had on their lives.
