Kim Soohyun's Agency Issues Statement Following Kim Sae Ron's Family Press Conference
In light of more damning accusations made by Kim Saeron's family yesterday (7th May 2025) at the press conference involving the family's legal representative and YouTuber Kim Seui of Garo Sero Institute, Kim Soohyun's agency, has issued an official statement in regards to the accusations.
On the same day of the press conference, GOLDMEDALIST rebuked all accusations made towards actor Kim Soohyun (김수현), stating 3 main points of argument, where they point out that the accusations made with proof were fabricated to defame him. Here are the highlights of the statement:
GOLDMEDALIST's Position On The Audio Recording Claimed By HoverLab
GOLDMEDALIST claims that the obtained audio recording of Kim Saeron (김새론) was fabricated using AI or similar technology. The statement also states that the audio provider who had given the recording to HoverLab had also approached them, demanding money, with an audio recording of the late actress making favourable comments towards Kim Soohyun.
The agency also states that the perpetrator is not someone who could have had any contact with Kim Saeron, and investigations are well underway or the legitimacy of the recording.
Their Stance On The Alleged 'Attack Photo' Mentioned By HoverLab
GOLDMEDALIST rebukes the so-called 'attack photo' claimed by HoverLab and has presented that the photo can be easily found with a quick search on the internet. They claim that the attack is baseless and is completely unreasonable from a common-sense perspective.
GOLDMEDALIST's Plan Response Towards HoverLab
GOLDMEDALIST stands with their resolve that HoverLab has inflicted serious cyber attacks on Kim Soohyun. They have pointed out HoverLab's crimes of defamation, cyber sex crimes and evidence tampering. Moving forward, GOLDMEDALIST will immediately file criminal complaints and charges against HoverLab for violations of the 'Stalking Punishment Act' and the 'Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilisation and Information Protection' (Defamation).
While investigation are underway, Kim Soohyun's agency have stated that they will work closely with authorities to ensure justice is served. What do you think about GOLDMEDALIST's stance on the case?

Cops seize Perak exco man's phone over caricature of PAS leader
DAP Youth chief Woo Kah Leong is being investigated for improper use of network facilities and criminal defamation. (Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA : A Perak executive councillor's phone and SIM card have been confiscated by police in connection with a probe into an allegedly offensive caricature of state opposition leader Razman Zakaria of PAS. DAP Youth chief Woo Kah Leong is being investigated for improper use of network facilities under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, and criminal defamation under Section 500 of the Penal Code, according to his lawyer, Syahredzan Johan. Syahredzan said the police report was likely made by one of Razman's aides in Gerik. 'Woo has given his statement to the police and we will give our fullest cooperation,' he told FMT. Woo had posted the caricature on Facebook alongside a statement in April. It depicted Razman as a clown riding a unicycle on a tightrope, while labelling the Perak PAS chief as 'raja fitnah' ('king of slander'). This is believed to be in reference to the various instances Razman had apologised to multiple Pakatan Harapan leaders over various accusations he made against them. The PAS man has since demanded that Woo apologise openly for the 'provocative' posting. In a statement, Woo stood by his Facebook post by saying it was not a personal attack but satire. He also said the police report stifled freedom of speech. Woo, the Perak domestic trade executive councillor, said it was his duty to challenge false rhetoric, even through satire. 'Freedom of expression must include the freedom to offend. Satire is a legitimate and peaceful form of political critique in any democracy,' said the Pasir Bedamar assemblyman.

UUM lecturer to appeal RM400k defamation ruling
The Kuala Lumpur High Court ordered lecturer Kamarul Zaman Yusoff to pay Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh RM400,000 for defaming her in two Facebook posts from 2017. (Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : Universiti Utara Malaysia lecturer Kamarul Zaman Yusoff will appeal the Kuala Lumpur High Court's decision ordering him to pay RM400,000 in damages for defaming Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh through two Facebook posts in 2017. Kamarul, who was not present in court today, said his appeal would challenge both the factual findings and the legal basis of the ruling. 'I would like to stress that I respect the court's decision, but at the same time, I disagree with the findings that led to today's verdict,' he said in a statement. 'Therefore, I will file an appeal soon with the appellate court to challenge the High Court's decision.' Adding that the case was far from over, he urged all parties to allow a thorough review of the matter by the appellate court. He also expressed confidence in the legal system, which he said allows individuals to seek justice through appeals. 'I will exercise my legal rights to defend my freedom as enshrined in the Federal Constitution,' he said. Earlier today, Justice Aliza Sulaiman awarded RM200,000 as general and aggravated damages for each defamatory post. The court also ordered Kamarul to pay RM80,000 in legal costs. Yeoh, the youth and sports minister, filed the lawsuit in 2022 over Kamarul's Facebook posts. One was an article titled 'Hannah Yeoh contoh hipokrasi terbesar DAP di Malaysia' (Hannah Yeoh, the biggest example of DAP hypocrisy in Malaysia), and the other was a police report that he lodged against her and later shared online. Yeoh claimed that Kamarul, in both documents, accused her of 'proselytising Christianity through her politics', promoting a 'Christian agenda', and intending to 'convert Malaysia into a Christian country'. She asserted that the statements were offensive, untrue, and a malicious attempt to damage her reputation.

Hannah Yeoh wins defamation suit over Christian agenda claim, UUM lecturer ordered to pay RM400,000
KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 — The High Court has ruled in favour of Segambut Member of Parliament Hannah Yeoh and ordered Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) lecturer Dr Kamarul Zaman Yusoff to pay RM400,000 in damages for the defamatory remarks he made eight years ago. The decision was delivered by Judge Datuk Aliza Sulaiman, who allowed Hannah's claim after finding no merit in the defendant's submission that she lacked locus standi to initiate the suit. The defamation suit, filed in 2022, arose from two Facebook posts made by Kamarul Zaman between May 10 and May 17, 2017, in which he alleged that Hannah had a proselytising agenda and was using her political platform to advance Christianity. He also cited her autobiography, Becoming Hannah: A Personal Journey, as evidence of her purported Christian agenda, further alleging that she sought to turn Malaysia into a Christian nation. In his statement of defence, Kamarul Zaman denied that the posts were defamatory and asserted that his statements were justified. — Bernama MORE TO COME
