3 Celebrity Brands That Are Worth Your Money (and 3 That Aren't)
Stick a celebrity name (or face) on something and people will buy it. A celebrity's backing can make a product feel like less of a risk. Granted, some are worth it, but just because a big name is attached doesn't mean it's not overpriced hype.

Find Out:
Here are three celebrity brands that are worth spending on according to consumers who have independently purchased the products (and three that aren't).
Some celebrity brands aren't all hype and are worth spending on. Here are a few examples.
Fenty Beauty got attention because it launched on the platform of inclusivity, initially offering 40 foundation shades that worked for more people — and now offering 50. That doesn't mean everything is perfect. But, according to Reddit threads, Fenty is a brand that people buy over and over.
For example, lip glosses, lip stains and highlighters have plenty of fans, and the contour sticks are said to blend well without drying out the skin.
Fenty isn't a flawless brand, but it delivers more than a lot of celebrity lines that just rely on a famous name.
For You:
Whether you love the Kardashians or not, there's no denying SKIMS has a loyal following. And some of the hype is real.
For example, some fans swear by the soft lounge dresses and cotton rib pieces for their comfort and quality. The shapewear gets good reviews too, but not all styles work for every body type.
The boyfriend collection is cozy but not a must-buy, and the bras are hit or miss for larger sizes. Says redditor Vickrich:
'I LOVE the boyfriend collection! Cozy and roomy…IMO it's the essential at-home, lounge attire.'
SKIMS isn't cheap, and not every piece will satisfy, but if you stick to the best sellers, it can be worth it.
Bob Dylan set out to create a whiskey that told a story, and by many accounts, he pulled it off with his Heaven's Door offerings. The Double Barrel Whiskey stands out for its rich, layered flavors of brown sugar, black pepper, burnt orange, dark chocolate and toasted oak, making it a favorite for bourbon fans. Some call it one of the better celebrity whiskeys.
The Single Barrel Bourbon is bold and smooth, with hints of oak, vanilla, dark chocolate, cinnamon and clove. Not everything's a home run, though. Some bottles are better than others, but even skeptics have admitted the brand is worth considering even though it can be pricey.
The verdict is in: while some consumers might be happy with the following brands, many aren't and feel they aren't worth the spend.
Pleasing is backed by a pop culture icon, but take that away, and you're left with overpriced basics that don't hold up to the hype, according to more than a few Reddit users.
While some say the nail polish lasts, others say it chips and you can find better polish at Dollar Tree. Redditor macy1116 summed it up:
'It's literally garbage. The dollar tree [sic] has better quality nail polish.'
Overall, the clothing is fine, but a $120 hoodie or a $60 T-shirt should feel like something special, and many Reddit users stated it doesn't.
At the end of the day, the consensus is that you're paying for Harry Styles' name, not necessarily a product that's actually worth the price.
Like other celebrity brands, Cincoro Tequila comes with a hefty price tag, but according to tequila enthusiasts, the taste doesn't live up to the cost.
Instead of the rich, complex flavors you'd expect from a high-end tequila, Cincoro has been described as overly sweet, with artificial vanilla and sugar notes that overpower the agave.
Some drinkers enjoy its smoothness, but others argue that it's better suited for people who don't actually like tequila and don't mind additives.
The final say? Redditor ShortGlassOfWater312 writes: 'Michael Jordan needs to stick to basketball lol'
Celebrity money grab: That's how Reddit users describe JLo's beauty brand. It contains the ingredient the celebrity claims to be her secret beauty weapon: olive oil, which, strangely, can be irritating to the skin and clog pores.
Additionally, there are other problems. One user reported that the formulas feel heavy on the skin, leaving behind a weird, almost plastic-like coating instead of delivering real skincare benefits. Also, the firming moisturizer was reported by another user to have an overpowering scent that lingers for hours.
Another problem? The products are expensive, which turned off a lot of potential buyers. Reddit users claimed they saw it gathering dust in Sephora, and the beauty products retailer must have noticed too — it pulled JLo's line from its stores in March 2024.

EastEnders fans concerned BBC soap star has 'quit' after 6 years as character
Over the last few weeks, there have been recent EastEnders exits confirmed including Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier). Among them is also Bernadette 'Bernie' Taylor (Clair Norris) who will also be leaving Albert Square after eight years. But now some fans are concerned another has quietly 'quit', after first joining the BBC soap six years ago. In 2019, Lexi Pearce, who is the daughter of the late Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) returned to EastEnders and has since been played by Isabella Brown. The young actress took over from Dotti-Beau Cotterill, who played the character between 2012 and 2015. However, viewers have recently noticed Lexi's absence in recent months, with some saying they haven't seen her since EastEnders' 40th anniversary earlier in the year and fear she has 'left' the programme. It comes as someone wrote on Reddit: 'Anyone know what's happening with Lexi? She hasn't been seen since the 40th anniversairy and was rather absent prior to that too. 'Lexi is 13 next month. The same age as Lily was when she gave birth.' They added: 'With only 9 appearances this year I wouldn't be shocked to see her return with a new head.' One person replied: 'She was last seen on March after Phil's special episode if I remember correctly. I assume we'll be seeing more of her later in the year. Her and Lola's birthdays are coming up in July so it'd be nice if the show adressed it.' Another commented that they hope EastEnders has 'something planned for later in the year' as 'it's a shame she was absent for Phil's recent storyline'. Meanwhile, others have said they think Lexi could be 'recast', according to the post on the subreddit r/eastenders. As this profile wrote: 'Looks wise the actress reminds me a lot of the old Amy Mitchell so I wonder if they'll recast her soon to someone more older/ older looking.' A second Reddit account put: 'I hope she doesn't get recast. She's a great actress and it's nice to see a realistic looking teenager. Most of the teens are played by adults and even the likes of Lily who is only 16 irl I feel always looked a bit older (which obviously isn't her fault, some teens do look older which is realistic but not literally all of them.)' But a few fans joined in to say: 'Not every character has to be on screen all the time. It's one of the perks of having an ensemble cast.' Blink and you'll miss it! #EastEnders, 7:30pm, Monday 16th June on @BBCOne and @BBCiPlayer. — BBC EastEnders (@bbceastenders) June 14, 2025 In agreement, a user added: 'The other child actors and actresses have big breaks too. Lily just left for a while Hope and Arthur have spent time of screen as have Kat and Alfies two twins spend time off Screen Ricky has loads of time off screen.' However, back in December last year, Isabella's agent (EJC Management) confirmed that she would continue to play Lexi "throughout 2025". An Instagram post previously said: "So very proud of this young lady! "Our incredible ISABELLA BROWN will continue to play the brilliant Lexi Pearce throughout 2025 in @bbceastenders. Her dedication, drive, professionalism and work ethic is so inspiring from someone so young. "She has had some amazing storylines and we can't wait to see what 2025 has in store for Lexi!" Mom-to-be roasted for naming her daughter after tragic event that shocked the world: ‘Felt like getting punched in the face'
Strange, unique, and eccentric names have come back into fashion for new parents, with monikers ranging from bizarrely-lettered variants to the Millennial-led dog names for babies trend — see short, cutesy names like Max, Sadie, and Bear, as prime examples. However, one parent-to-be took these trends to the next level and paid the price: relentless mocking on the Internet. A friend of the parent in question was sent a seemingly innocent baby shower invitation, but after closer inspection, noticed the name, Chernobyl Hope, was especially unique — or, as the Internet dubbed it after the friend posted the invitation to Reddit, 'ridiculous' and 'offensive.' Advertisement 3 Redditors were so shocked by this invitation, as seen in the post, that dozens of users accused the original poster of being a bot or AI-generating this wild story. kittysogood / Reddit It appeared as if the parents were unaware of the 1986 nuclear disaster in Chernobyl, Ukraine. The recipient of this unconventional baby shower invitation posted it to the subreddit r/tragedeigh, where aggrieved Internet users come together to poke fun at unfortunate, offensive, and just plain crazy baby names, particularly where unconventional spelling is involved — hence the Millennial-core 'deigh' epithet. Advertisement Many replies said they were so uncomfortable with this baby name, they had no choice but to turn to humor to cope. 'I'm sure everyone at the celebration will be radiant,' one user commented facetiously, prompting the reply: 'Speak for yourself. If I were a guest at that shower and heard that name, I'd have a total meltdown.' 'I guess it's a nuclear family,' another user quipped. 'Honestly, if it didn't have the connotation of being a nuclear disaster, it would be a pretty name,' rationalized one commenter, while another quipped: 'Extra points for having the invitation feature an elephant's foot.' Advertisement Wedged between comments making jokes at this family's expense and users expressing outrage at the name was the only other detail — or semblance of an explanation — the original poster left behind: 'I have a feeling they don't know what Chernobyl meant. I asked them where they got the idea from, and said it just sounded nice,' they explained. 3 Another user shared that they have a co-worker named Chernobyl, and added that, understandably, she goes by Che. Getty Images Overwhelmingly, users reacted to the wild post with distaste. The Chernobyl explosion occurred in a nuclear power plant located in a town (now recognized as being in Ukraine) of the same name, and remains the worst nuclear accident in human history. 31 people died immediately as a result of the incident, per the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), but varying studies have produced long-term death tolls ranging into hundreds of thousands of premature deaths as a result of radiation exposure. Advertisement 'I haven't ever met another person (aside from a cousin) who has been affected by Chernobyl. I was born sick due to it because my mother was pregnant with me and in the area when it occurred,' shared a commenter. 'It has made my life… not fun. Being profoundly disabled at age 37 due to human error… And an error that never offered compensation for all of us who had their lives ruined by it,' the enraged Redditor continued. 'What a legacy. Naming someone after something that has left people with cancer, going through 30+ surgeries just to stay alive, and losing their quality of life. I'm just appalled. Repulsed.' Many commenters also offered the original poster advice for dealing with the profoundly awkward situation. 3 'Why would you do this to a kid?' wondered dozens of commenters. Wavebreak Media – 'Even if you think your relationship with them will sour, at least for the baby's sake, you need to talk to them and suggest they change the name and explain to them what this means, all politely, of course. If they say they will still continue with the name, you can smile and give a thumbs up.' 'Absolutely remove these people from your life,' recommended another blunt reply. Obscene and ignorant as this name choice may be, in many countries, it's not necessarily illegal. Advertisement In the United States, birth certificate laws and regulations vary by state, but even still, most prohibited names have been disallowed for administrative purposes — monikers in excess of 140 characters and those containing numbers are prime examples. Some states have outlawed names like Jesus Christ and Santa Claus, but as of now, baby Chernobyl Hope is more than fine the government's eyes.
