Ryan Reynolds Originally Planned to Kill Wade Wilson in DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE — GeekTyrant

Deadpool & Wolverine was such a fun flick. It brought joy back, not only to Marvel fans, but to moviegoers, who hadn't had a whole lot of great choices since the pandemic. It was hilarious and action-packed, and one of the coolest parts was seeing the old and new characters on screen we had been hoping for.
It made us excited to see what the future would hold for each of the comic book characters on screen, with the title characters leading the misfit crew.
But unbeknownst to viewers, we almost lost Wade Wilson in the movie, for good. In a recent interview with Scott Mendelson on The Box Office podcast (via CBM), Ryan Reynolds admitted that he considered bringing an end to Deadpool's misadventures in the MCU just as they were getting started.
"There's always the thought of killing Deadpool in the last one. Again, it's like listening to the movie. Me, Shane Reid, Dean Zimmerman, and Shawn Levy must have reworked that third act for 45 days straight. Finally figuring it out — I am such a needle-drop person, but I'm really working hard to embrace score. It was Rob Simonsen who really helped us get there by blending score, needle drop, and all these things that gave you that feeling we were working for.
"Studios are like, of course, it'd be fun to play around with this guy in the future, because he's a cheat code," the actor continued. "He can say things that everyone might be thinking, and it gets you out of trouble." He'd later point out that he was ultimately happy Disney didn't let him kill Deadpool because he "loves playing him."
There have also been rumors that, along with Zazie Beetz as Domino, Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine have already been spotted on the Avengers: Doomsday set.
This has not been confirmed, and they may have also been stand-ins or stuntmen, so we will just have to wait and see, though no one would be too surprised to see these fan-favorite characters featured in the film.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars scheduled to arrive on December 17, 2026.

The full Alien: Earth trailer is finally here and it's a doozy

In space, no one can hear you, uh, stream. We finally have a real trailer for the upcoming Alien: Earth TV series and it looks extremely cool. FX dropped a teaser a few months back, but that was just vibes. This is an actual two-minute trailer that's absolutely packed with footage. For the uninitiated, Alien: Earth is the first TV series in the franchise's long history and is being helmed by Noah Hawley. That's the guy who made the Fargo TV series and the criminally underrated Marvel show Legion . Franchise creator Ridley Scott is also on board as an executive producer. This is a prequel that's set just two years before the original film. As the name suggests, it takes place on Earth. The trailer indicates the story will involve a ship crashing into a large corporate-controlled city. This vessel may or may not have a fearsome Xenomorph aboard, among other notable alien species. A character in the clip says that the ship "collected five different life forms from the darkest corners of the universe," going on to suggest that one is "predatory." That's right. We could be getting a dang Predator in our Alien TV show. Alien: Earth premieres on August 12 on FX and will be available to stream on Hulu. The show stars Sydney Chandler as a hybrid robot/human lifeform tasked with investigating the crash. The rest of the cast includes Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther and Samuel Blenkin, among others.
