Senior Congress leader and former Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde refused to comment on the verdict.
Shiv Sena spokesperson Krishna Hegde said his party welcomes the NIA court judgement acquitting all the seven accused, including Thakur and Purohit.
"We are very happy with the order. It was the sinister design of the Congress party which trapped them and also coined the word 'Hindu terror' to fulfill their agenda. They have been exposed," Hegde claimed.
Hegde said Union Home Minister Amit Shah said in Parliament that no Hindu can be a terrorist and it has been proved right.
Maharashtra Water Resources Minister and BJP leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil hailed the verdict and said Hindutva was labelled as "terrorist" and sentiments were hurt.
There was an attempt to hurt spiritualism, he claimed.

CPI(M) leader raises alarm over honour killings, slams Modi govt's policies and ECI bias
"The foreign policy of the Narendra Modi-led government has failed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not spoken out against the imposition of 25% tariff on Indian goods. So far, there has been no debate even in the Parliament. This move could severely impact many MSMEs and small-scale industries across the country," Balakrishnan said. Citing the row over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral lists in Bihar, Balakrishnan said, "The ECI has effectively been turned into a subservient wing of the BJP. In Bihar 69 lakh voters have been removed from the voters' list. Our basic "Right to Vote' is under threat. There are also rumours that many voters will be removed from West Bengal, Assam, and Tamil Nadu too. The minorities, especially Muslims and others, will be denied their voting rights. The ECI is even opposing the Supreme Court's advice. The INDIA bloc will conduct a protest on August 8 and the CPI(M) will hold a protest on August 12." Speaking about the NDA alliance in Tamil Nadu, he said, "Edappadi K Palaniswami has repeatedly stated that an NDA government will form in Tamil Nadu. The NDA is crumbling. O Panneerselvam has already announced that he is not with the BJP alliance. It is a good thing for Tamil Nadu."

Fadnavis Sets Deadline for 5,000 MW Solar Push Under Flagship Agri Feeder Plan
Nagpur: Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis issued a clear directive to the state machinery: complete 5,000 MW of solar power projects under the ambitious 'Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0' by September 2025 . Calling it his 'dream initiative', the CM told officials to treat the issue with urgency and efficiency."No procedural laxity will be tolerated. Districts must adopt a timeline-bound approach and ensure coordinated execution at every level," Fadnavis, also energy minister, said during a high-level review in Mumbai. The meeting, held to address land availability and ancillary concerns for the solar feeder rollout, was attended by revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, renewable energy minister Atul Save, minister of state for energy Meghana Bordikar, chief secretary Rajesh Kumar, and top officials from energy, finance, and forest departments. Fadnavis underscored the need for seamless cooperation between local authorities and private players executing projects on both govt and private land. He urged district collectors to expedite no-objection certificates, land leasing, removal of encroachments, and remeasurement for timely approvals. "Obstacles faced by developers should be resolved on priority," he said. Responding to recurring issues, Fadnavis instructed police to act swiftly in cases of theft from solar project sites. He also directed that care be taken in densely populated areas, and that permissions for power lines crossing forest zones be granted without delay. "Guidelines related to trees must be strictly followed. Forest department must issue clearances on time, including for adjacent private lands," he added. Fadnavis' push comes amid growing emphasis on decentralised renewable energy infrastructure for rural power stability. District task forces have been told to closely monitor project progress. Among those attending were additional chief secretaries OP Gupta (finance) and Milind Mhaiskar (forest), secretary Shrikar Pardeshi, and heads of MahaTransco, MahaGenco, and the state's energy development agency. All district collectors and zilla parishad CEOs joined via video conferencing.

‘Illegal and unprecedented': Israel fires attorney general; Supreme Court halts move
Benjamin Netanyahu (ANI) Israel's government plunged deeper into political crisis on Monday after the cabinet unanimously voted to dismiss Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, a move immediately blocked by the country's Supreme Court. The court issued an injunction suspending the decision pending legal review, preventing any replacement from being appointed in the meantime. Justice Minister Yariv Levin formally notified Baharav-Miara of the cabinet's decision, saying she 'should not try to impose herself on a government that has no trust in her.' Baharav-Miara, a central figure in multiple legal battles involving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu 's administration, has frequently challenged the legality of key decisions, including Netanyahu's May attempt to sack the head of the Shin Bet security agency, Ronen Bar. That move was widely seen as retaliation for Bar's role in an ongoing investigation into alleged illicit Qatari payments to Netanyahu's aides—a case dubbed 'Qatargate' in Israeli media. Netanyahu and his allies accuse the attorney general of overstepping her role and obstructing elected officials, while critics argue that her removal represents a dangerous attack on judicial independence. Following the dismissal, opposition party Yesh Atid and several watchdog organisations filed emergency petitions with the High Court. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like When Knee Pain Hits, Start Eating These Foods, and Feel Your Pain Go Away (It's Genius) Click Here Undo The Movement for Quality Government, a leading civil group, described the firing as 'illegal' and 'unprecedented,' accusing the government of changing the rules after failing to remove Baharav-Miara through legal means. 'This decision turns the role of the attorney general into a political appointment,' it said. The court has scheduled hearings over the next 30 days to consider the legality of the move. The attorney general has argued that Netanyahu's ongoing corruption trial creates a conflict of interest that bars him from removing her. The high-stakes confrontation comes as Netanyahu faces increasing domestic and international pressure over the war in Gaza. He vowed on Monday to update Israel's war strategy, with reports suggesting a plan to reoccupy all of Gaza may be in the works. Meanwhile, criticism continues to mount over the government's handling of the hostage crisis and aid restrictions in the Palestinian territory.
