Who Is Christopher Briney's Girlfriend, Isabel Machado?

Cosmopolitana day ago
You've probably already heard the news that Gavin Casalegno—aka Jeremiah from The Summer I Turned Pretty—is happily married IRL...but what about his on-screen brother? As it turns out, Christopher Briney is taken as well, so apologies to all the Conrad supporters out there.
So who is Christopher Briney's girlfriend, you ask? Here's everything you need to know about Isabel Machado, who Christopher hard-launched on the red carpet at the 2022 premiere of TSITP.
Like Christopher, Isabel is an actor, and she graduated in 2020 from Pace University with a BFA in Acting (which is where she met Christopher, btw!). Per her resume, she's also a trained singer and dancer—plus, she can drive stick shift, which is honestly a flex.
As mentioned, Isabel and Christopher met during their time at Pace University—but apparently, they started out as friends.
Christopher said of his girlfriend during a 2023 People interview, 'We were friends first. We went to college together and we lived together. We knew that we could do it.'
Pls enjoy this throwback pic of Isabel and Christopher when they were ~just friends.~
And this.
Oh, and here they are acting together, playing a couple going through a breakup.
The talent!!
After spending years as friends and roommates, things finally turned romantic in June 2021. Christopher celebrated the occasion one year later with a cute IG pic, which he captioned, 'A whole year!? I could never want anything else.'
And more than four years later, the two are still going strong, as evidenced by v cute red carpet photos like these:
Can't wait to see these two hit the red carpet again for the season 3 premiere of The Summer I Turned Pretty!!

‘The Summer I Turned Pretty' Season 3 is finally here. What fans are saying so far — from 'Bonrad' shippers to 'Jelly' apologists

It's a sound and image that fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty know too well: That gentle, melodic theme over sunlight glittering on water. Jenny Han's beloved coming-of-age series is back for its third and final season after a two-year hiatus that has tested even the most seasoned yearners. The season's first two episodes, which dropped at 3 a.m. ET on Wednesday, have already garnered a trove of opinions from diehard fans. Taking into consideration the fandom's deep investment in the show and its stars, both on and offscreen, The Summer I Turned Pretty's official Instagram and X accounts even issued a warning for fans ahead of the season premiere to 'keep the conversation kind this summer.' As with seasons past, the fandom is once again staunchly divided into 'Team Bonrad' and 'Team Jelly.' 'Bonrad' shippers, of course, believe Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) and Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney) are endgame, while 'Jelly' fans are convinced that Belly and Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno) should come out on top. While they desperately await the release of Episode 3 — episodes will drop weekly at 3 a.m. ET every Wednesday, with the series finale debuting on Wednesday, Sept. 17 — fans have flocked to social media to share their initial reactions. From 'Bonrad' shippers to 'Jelly' apologists and everything in between, here's what fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty — commonly referred to as TSITP — are saying about the season so far. Spoilers ahead! Christmas at Cousins flashback While there were minimal scenes of them actually together, Belly and Conrad shippers were satisfied with the crumbs they were given in the first two episodes. Fans were especially delighted by a specific scene, a flashback, in which Belly and Conrad serendipitously find themselves alone, together, at the Cousins beach house over the holidays. Their time together is fleeting — Conrad guiltily bails after just one day because he is, after all, still madly in love with his brother's current girlfriend — but the yearning is still very much apparent. When Belly slips and falls, Conrad lifts her up and carries her to the sofa. The moment triggers a realization in Belly: 'A part of me will always love you.' 'POV: TSITP season 3 only dropped two episodes so far, but Conrad and Belly's chemistry is already unmatched,' read one fan video, while another fan wrote, 'At least Conrad girlies had one win in the first two episodes.' 'P.S. I Still Love You' Easter egg In a move that one fan called 'the most brilliant thing jenny han has ever done,' members of The Summer I Turned Pretty fandom were quick to notice an expertly planted Easter egg during the 'Bonrad' Christmas flashback. Before abruptly leaving Belly and the Cousins beach house, Conrad leaves her a sticky note on his partially finished crossword. Belly glimpses a crossword clue, which reads, 'Novel by author Jenny Han, 'P.S. I ____ Love You.' She fills in the blanks with the word 'Still,' which Conrad appears to have also written but erased. Both a nod to Han's 2015 novel P.S. I Still Love You, the second installment in the To All The Boys I've Loved Before movie trilogy, and an acknowledgment of Belly still being in love with Conrad, fans clocked — and then swooned over — the very intentional moment. Jeremiah's confession In the final minutes of the first episode, viewers who haven't read the books were surprised to learn that Jeremiah cheated on Belly with Lacie Barone (Lily Donoghue) while vacationing in Cabo for spring break. Belly overhears Lacie speaking of their hookup at a party, which prompts her heartwrenching confrontation with Jeremiah, who admits to sleeping with her and hiding it. Jeremiah says he assumed he and Belly had legitimately broken up at the time of his alleged offense, though Belly asserts that they hadn't actually called it quits. ('You knew that we weren't really broken up, that that wasn't real,' she tearfully tells him.) Jeremiah later admits to being intimate with Lacie not once, but twice. Belly, however, ends up forgiving him, and the two of them get engaged at the end of Episode 2. The anti-Jeremiah camp was strongly assembled by this point, with many dumbfounded by his inability to take responsibility for his actions, and Belly's seemingly ill-advised decision to pick 'the guy that CHEATED on her' over 'the man that she will still forever love.' But some fans are still fiercely defending Casalegno's on-screen character, writing on TikTok, 'I can't with Belly 😭They break up! … Letting yall know he did NOT cheat.' Music cues for the pop girlies The Summer I Turned Pretty has been known to punctuate its most emotional moments with tracks by some of music's most beloved pop girlies, like Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo. Tracks by both Swift and Rodrigo have already played over poignant moments in the first two episodes of the season, from Swift's 'You're Losing Me' soundtracking Belly and Jeremiah's devastating confrontation to Rodrigo's 'Lacy' being heard as Belly deals with the aftermath of their breakup. Ariana Grande's breakup ballad 'i wish i hated you' also plays during the second episode. 'I just got whiplash because you're losing me and lacy being played BACK TO BACK,' one fan wrote on TikTok, while another commented, 'I was stopped in my tracks omg.' Solve the daily Crossword

Jax Taylor exits ‘The Valley' to focus on sobriety, mental health and coparenting

Jax Taylor will not be returning to 'The Valley' for Season 3. The 46-year-old reality star's departure follows a fraught second season on the 'Vanderpump Rules' spinoff, which chronicled the end of his marriage to Brittany Cartwright and time in a mental health treatment facility. Before the season premiered in April, Taylor also opened up about his on-and-off cocaine addiction for the past two decades. 'After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I'll be stepping away from the next season of 'The Valley,'' he said in a statement. 'Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz.' Taylor's unraveling marriage and struggles with sobriety were at the center of Season 2. Just before production began in July 2024, Taylor allegedly flipped a coffee table and bruised Cartwright's knee, his estranged wife said on the show. Even while in the mental health facility, he continued to watch Cartwright on their home cameras and send her angry text messages, which were shown on the reality series. 'You took my job away from me … I've worked so hard for two years for this and you took it from me,' read one text. 'Now do the work as a single mom. I am watching the cameras and [you're] not there,' he said in another. Cartwright filed for divorce in August 2024, citing irreconcilable differences. Taylor was served divorce papers on camera, shown in Episode 10. He has since agreed to give Cartwright full custody of their 4-year-old son, Cruz, according to People. 'The Valley' Season 2 finale will air July 22, followed by three reunion episodes. Taylor will appear at the reunion, which was filmed in May, Bravo confirmed.

Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa's HGTV Shows Cancelled

Originally appeared on E! Online It's closing time for these two HGTV shows. Christina Haack's Christina on the Coast as well as Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae El Moussa's show Flipping El Moussas have both been cancelled at the network, according to multiple outlets. Also not up for renewal, per People, are series Bargain Block, Farmhouse Fixer, Married to Real Estate and Izzy Does It. As for Chrstina, Tarek and Heather's collaboration, The Flip Off? The series has been picked up for a second season, per the outlets, but has not yet begun filming. E! News has reached otut to HGTV and reps for all parties for comment but has not yet heard back. The show was initially incepted to see Tarek and Heather face off against Christina and then-husband Josh Hall as they competed to see who could get the better turnaround on a house flip. A wrench was thrown, however, when Josh and Christina filed for divorce in July 2024. Ultimately, Josh would only appear in the show's premiere before Christina would go it solo for the rest of the season. For Christina, however, she preferred her time after Josh left the show. 'It's so much easier without somebody else bothering me,' the 41-year-old told Jennifer Hudson during a January appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. 'I mean, I don't have to ask approval from anyone, no one's, like, weighing me down." If anything, she said, 'I think I have an advantage.' More from E! Plus, Christina—who shares kids Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9, with Tarek, as well as son Hudson, 5, with ex Ant Anstead—didn't go it totally alone. Her boyfriend Christopher Larocca was by her side for the series' finale episode, at which time it was announced the El Moussas had a higher return on investment between the two flipped homes. In fact, all of Christina's exes were involved in the show: earlier in the season, Ant appeared as a guest judge for the episode's guest bedroom and bathroom renovation challenge (ultimately crowning Christina the winner). But while it could have been awkward for the two exes, the pair both took it in stride, with Ant making light of the situation on social media. "Now this is kind of a bizarre day for me," Ant said in a video shared to Instagram page Feb. 19, hours before the show is set to air, "because I got asked by someone I know relatively well to step in to a TV show and do them a favor and yeah, it feels really weird, because that person is currently on the couch, looking, pretending like she's working." He then panned the camera to Christina, adding, 'I advise that you tune in to the show. It's called The Flip Off and it involves that lady and another couple. That's not awkward, is it?"
