
Kelly Clarkson Postpones Her Las Vegas Residency Due To Family Emergency
Kelly Clarkson, American singer, songwriter and television personality, announced that she is taking an unplanned break from her ongoing Las Vegas residency. On Thursday, August 7, the 43-year-old singer shared a post on her Instagram account, informing her fans that she is postponing the remainder of her Studio Sessions concert series. She also cited the reason behind the postponement.
'Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas," she said. Revealing her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock's ill-health, Kelly added, 'While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them. I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows, and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding."
The shows affected by the postponement of her residency were scheduled for August 8, 9, 15 and 16.

The singer did not delve into much detail on her ex-husband's illness, whom she married in 2013. Their divorce was finalised in 2022, which they had filed in 2020, citing 'irreconcilable differences". Kelly Clarkson co-parents two kids with him: daughter River Rose, who is 11 years old, and 9-year-old son Remington 'Remy" Alexander.
Who Is Kelly Clarkson's Former Husband Brandon Blackstock?
Brandon Blackstock is a talent manager and television producer who is the son of her former manager Narvel Blackstock. He met with Kelly in 2006 during a rehearsal for the Academy of Country Music Awards. Back then, he was still married to his first wife, Melissa Ashworth. Following their split, Brandon began dating the American Idol winner in 2012. They got engaged in December of the same year and married in October the next year.
After getting divorced from Brandon, Kelly described their split as 'extraordinarily hard" during a January 2024 interview with People. Talking about her album Chemistry, she added, 'You feel alone, and it's just a blessing to be able to have that outlet for those emotions that are overwhelming."

The singer announced Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions back in February this year. The residency, which commenced on July 11, is performed at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Paradise, Nevada. However, it was scheduled to start on July 4, but it hit a bump when the singer cancelled it just 90 minutes before the opening show.

Through an Instagram post, she explained the reason, revealing that the prep and rehearsals took a toll on her voice. Kelly said, 'I want the shows to be perfect for y'all, and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage, so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve."

In 2024, Sobhita starred in Dev Patel's Monkey Man, which was not released in India. She also starred in the Zee5 film Love, Sitara. She has yet to announce her upcoming projects.
