Khloé Kardashian's Latest Remarks About Her Weight Loss Are Both Damaging And Heartbreaking

Buzz Feed28-02-2025

This post discusses weight loss.
On the latest episode of The Kardashians, Khloé Kardashian made some notable remarks about her weight loss.
For context, Khloé sadly spent years at the center of scrutiny about her weight ever since she and her family shot to fame in 2007. She prioritized fitness amid her divorce from Lamar Odom, which was finalized in 2016 and has since documented her health journey across Keeping Up With The Kardashians, her 2017 reality series Revenge Body, and her book, Strong Looks Better Naked.
In recent years, Khloé's comments about her weight loss have caused a stir among Kardashians viewers numerous times. In 2022, fans were left heartbroken after spotting her gleeful reaction to her sisters' concern at how 'skinny' she looked. Kim Kardashian told Khloé in an episode of their Hulu series: 'You look very skinny. … I will say that Kendall and Kylie [Jenner] — not that I'm trying to out them — but they did text me and say that they were a little concerned for you because you're really skinny. I said, 'I think she's a bit stressed.'' In spite of her sisters' concern, Khloé was clearly thrilled at the remark, asking Kim: 'Kendall said it? The model?!'

Just months later, Kardashians fans wound up switching off the show entirely as they grew bored of Khloé and Kim's apparent obsession with losing weight. In fact, the Hulu series was called out for platforming their hyperfixation on looking 'skinny,' with several viewers branding it 'disgusting,' 'unhealthy,' and 'triggering.'
And now, Khloé's latest comments about her weight are once again worth discussing. In this week's episode of the show, the star was filmed discussing Scott Disick's use of the drug Mounjaro, which is FDA-approved to help with 'chronic weight management.' After Scott said that he was not 'embarrassed' about having taken Mounjaro, Khloé replied, 'You shouldn't be! When I was fat, I would've drank that shit.'
'I don't get the shame of it,' Khloé continued before turning to Kendall and saying, 'You just don't have these problems, but when I was bigger, I took laxatives, I would take anything — everyone was pushing something 'cause it was early 2000s, Anna Nicole Smith.'
IMO, Khloé's comments are insensitive at best, damaging at worst. They certainly didn't go unnoticed by some viewers; one person tweeted, 'She's NEVER been fat and it's such a dangerous, sad & awful message to send to viewers,' while another branded the remarks 'gross.'
But Khloé's comments are especially sad considering how much more kindly she spoke about her past self a decade ago. In 2015, Khloé looked back on the unfair media scrutiny she faced around her weight during an interview with People magazine and recalled being made to feel like 'the fat sister' by tabloids.
'Right before the [KUWTK] started, I thought I was in good shape, but I guess not good enough for Hollywood's eyes,' she said. 'I didn't realize I was the 'fat' sister until I went on TV and the media started saying that about me...Being compared to my sisters was something I was used to. But being compared in such a harsh way, I just thought, 'OK, that's my role.' So I started saying it before people. I was like, 'OK, I'm the fat, funny sister. Who cares?' I almost let that take ownership of me. [But] I wasn't fat; I wasn't obese. But I would let society make me believe that I was.'

Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth Split Over Her Public Image

We all remember Miley Cyrus's Bangerz era, which saw the former Disney star stepping away from her squeaky-clean image and embracing a rebellious, provocative persona. Around that time that she released the Bangerz album in 2013, Miley found herself embroiled in a number of memorable controversies — like the time she twerked on Robin Thicke during a VMAs performance, or when she stripped naked in her 'Wrecking Ball' music video. At this time, Miley was in a relationship with — and temporarily engaged to — Liam Hemsworth, whom she met on the set of The Last Song years prior. The pair got engaged for the first time back in May 2012, though they called it off the following September. In 2016, news broke that Miley and Liam had rekindled their relationship and gotten engaged again. By late 2018, the pair were married — though they parted ways less than a year later. During this time, Miley released her sixth studio album titled Younger Now, which marked a notable shift from her previous Bangerz era. The project was described by Pitchfork as a glimpse into Miley's 'post-neon maturity' that made a bold 'statement of reinvention,' with less songs about recreational drug use and being a "female rebel" and more inoffensive tracks — like 'Younger Now,' which detailed the way she'd grown up and changed, and 'Malbu,' which was about her rekindled relationship with Liam. Miley notably switched up her public image around the release of Younger Now too, growing her hair out after famously rocking various shorter styles for years. Last week, Miley sat down on the Every Single Album podcast to discuss her shift in public image. When asked about why she made a 'complete 180,' the singer candidly shared, 'I think that when me and Liam split up the first time with Bangerz, it was because it was like I was this provocateur and it was highly sexualized.' 'And so for Younger Now, the album, the reason I kind of like played into this innocence was because I think that was a way to keep and a way to stay…If I'm younger now, if I'm less awake as this sexual woman publicly, then this is going to be the way that I can keep a happy home,' she shared. Miley went on to recall feeling a 'duty' to protect Liam's image when she was in a relationship with him. 'Liam was also a part of other big franchises like The Hunger Games, and his brother is a Marvel superhero. And so I was also representing the family,' she said. 'And so I felt like I needed to, and I, you know, it was my duty too, because my plan was this time, I didn't want the relationship to fall apart. I wanted it to stay intact. And the reason why it didn't work during Bangerz was because of that.' You can find Miley's full appearance on the Every Single Album podcast here.

King of the Hill Season 14: Release date, cast updates and what to expect next

By Aman Shukla Published on June 9, 2025, 17:18 IST After a 15-year hiatus, King of the Hill is set to return with its highly anticipated Season 14, bringing back the beloved animated sitcom to fans old and new. Created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, the show's revival on Hulu promises to revisit the quirky world of Arlen, Texas, with a modern twist. Here's everything you need to know about the King of the Hill Season 14. King of the Hill Season 14 Release Date The King of the Hill revival is scheduled to premiere on August 4, 2025, on Hulu, with all 10 episodes dropping at once for binge-watching. This marks the show's first new season since its original run ended in 2010. Fans can also stream the series on Disney+ via the Hulu hub in the United States or as a Star Original internationally. The release was confirmed during a panel at the ATX TV Festival on May 30, 2025, where the cast and crew shared a first look at the updated opening credits and a grown-up Bobby Hill. Cast Updates for Season 14 The King of the Hill revival brings back most of the original voice cast, ensuring the authentic feel fans love, while addressing the absence of key actors due to unfortunate circumstances. Here's a breakdown of the returning cast members: Mike Judge reprises his roles as Hank Hill , the pragmatic propane salesman, and Boomhauer , the fast-talking womanizer. Kathy Najimy returns as Peggy Hill , the confident substitute teacher with a knack for Boggle. Pamela Adlon voices Bobby Hill , now a 21-year-old chef navigating adulthood. Stephen Root is back as Bill Dauterive , the lovable but depressed barber. Lauren Tom reprises her roles as Minh Souphanousinphone and her daughter Connie . Ashley Gardner returns as Nancy Hicks-Gribble , Dale's wife and local news anchor. Toby Huss takes over as Dale Gribble for most of the season, following the passing of Johnny Hardwick in August 2023. Hardwick recorded dialogue for six episodes before his death. Ronny Chieng joins the cast as Kahn Souphanousinphone , replacing Toby Huss, who voiced the character in the original run. This recasting reflects a conscious decision to align with modern casting practices. Marwan Naji is listed in the cast, though his role remains unconfirmed. Grey DeLisle is also involved, with leaked images from the wrap party suggesting she may voice a character like Nancy Gribble in some capacity. Plot Details: What to Expect in Season 14 Season 14 picks up 15 years after the original series finale, with a time jump that ages the characters to reflect the passage of time. The official plot description reveals that Hank and Peggy Hill have retired after working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to build their retirement nest egg. They return to a changed Arlen, Texas, to reconnect with old friends Dale Gribble, Boomhauer, and Bill Dauterive. Meanwhile, Bobby Hill, now in his 20s, is living his dream as a chef in Dallas, navigating adulthood alongside former classmates Connie, Joseph, and Chane.
