Because of the sanctions, Huawei and foundry SMIC are not able to obtain an extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machine. This is part of the reason why Huawei can't close the gap with chips designed by aforementioned names like Apple, Qualcomm, and MediaTek. Huawei hopes to be able to use multiple impressions to make up for its inability to obtain advanced lithography systems. The problem with using multiple impressions is that it is very costly to use this technique. Misalignments lead to short circuits, which lead to lower yields, higher costs, and reliability problems.
Nonetheless, with Huawei's chipsets 1-2 generations behind those from the top processor players, it hopes to have a 5nm chipset available, perhaps by the end of this year.

Weekly poll results: the vivo X200 FE is a hit
Peter, 06 July 2025 The vivo X200 FE has a big presence for such a small phone – looking at the results from last week's poll, this could be the best mini flagship out there. And yes, it's a mini flagship, less than 5% of voters had issues with the size. Many still haven't made up their minds and are waiting for a review (ours is coming soon). It doesn't help that vivo hasn't confirmed the global pricing yet. That said, the majority of voters are showing strong interest towards the FE. It will compete against the likes of the OnePlus 13s (but the X200 FE wins by default in Europe) and Xiaomi 15 (but that one is certainly the more expensive model). Only around 10% of voters think they can get better value with some other small flagship. That is not to say that the vivo X200 FE didn't have its critics. The 8MP ultra-wide is a letdown for some (the vivo X200 Pro mini has a 50MP UW sensor) as was the USB 2.0 port. The proper launch of the vivo X200 FE (and X Fold5) is scheduled for July 14 for India, so stay tuned for pricing info.

OnePlus 15s/15T details leak
Vlad, 05 July 2025 The OnePlus 13T and OnePlus 13s are very similar devices that represent the brand's latest entry into the 'smaller-screen high-end device' space, and they've only been out for a few weeks at this point. And yet, there's already a rumor about the upcoming OnePlus 15T and 15s (the brand is likely to skip the number 14 due to prevailing tetraphobia in some parts of Asia). According to this rumor, the next generation will have the same screen size. OnePlus 13s However, they will both come with one more camera on the rear, going from two to three, and while the source of this rumor hasn't mentioned it, we think it's safe to assume that an ultrawide will be the third camera. The OnePlus 15T and 15s will also have a bigger battery than the 13T and 13s, as well as a new chipset, which is probably the most unsurprising of these details, seeing as how that's always the main upgrade with every new high-end smartphone generation. It's still unclear when OnePlus is planning on launching these - will it wait a year or will it move quicker? It remains to be seen and we'll let you know when we find out more.
