Swastik Chikara's acts gained traction after Yash Dayal revealed that he once opened Virat Kohli's kitbag without permission and used his perfume.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Swastik Chikara, who has gained quite some attention for remaining close to Virat Kohli at all times during a game, had an ice-cold reply when he was trolled by a few teammates over a meme roasting him for being around Kohli.
Chikara's acts gained traction after his Uttar Pradesh teammate Yash Dayal revealed that the former once opened Kohli 's kitbag without his permission after a match against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
The meme said that one of the biggest tensions for Chikara is to ensure he is the first to serve Kohli water during games. Watch the video here:

' Toh kya ho gaya? Apne bhai ko toh main hi pilaaunga! (What's there in that? I'll serve water to my brother)!" Chikara said with a smirk on his face.
Who Is Swastik Chikara?
The 20-year-old from Ghaziabad drew attention after he smashed the fastest half-century in the UP T20 League in September, hitting 85 off 27 balls. Swastik had already made his List A debut by then and had scored a 101-ball 117 on debut against Himachal Pradesh in Chandigarh in November 2023.
Swastik made his first-class debut against Bengal in October in the Ranji Trophy and scored a 74-ball 41 in the first innings. He made his T20 debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in November, although that outing didn't go as planned.
Swastik hasn't yet featured in a match for Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, Kohli and KL Rahul will headline the battle of anchors, while Mitchell Starc versus Josh Hazlewood in the pace department can just add more spice to the contest between the in-form Delhi Capitals and Bengaluru on Sunday, April 27.
Kohli remains the biggest draw as he returns to his 'home ground' at the back of five fifties in nine matches. Four of them have come away from the Chinnaswamy Stadium, and despite being in the opposition camp, the Delhi crowd will be hoping Kohli extends his prolific run in IPL 2025.

Rahane resigns Mumbai captaincy just before new Ranji Trophy 2025 campaign

Veteran India batter Ajinkya Rahane on Thursday stepped down from his position as Mumbai captain ahead of the upcoming Ranji Trophy season, saying it is the right time to groom a new leader. The 37-year-old, who has amassed 14000 runs in 201 first-class matches, however, will continue to play as a batter in the team. The Ranji season begins on October 15 and Mumbai will be up against Jammu and Kashmir in their opening game. "Captaining and winning the championships with the Mumbai team has been an absolute honour," Rahane wrote on his 'X' account. "With the new domestic season ahead, I believe it is the right time to groom a new leader, and hence, I have decided not to continue in the captaincy role. "I remain fully committed to giving my best as a player, and will continue my journey with MCA to help us win more trophies, looking forward to the season," he added. Under his captaincy, Mumbai clinched the Ranji Trophy title in the 202324 season with a victory over Vidarbha in the final. He also guided the team to triumph in the Irani Cup 202425, overcoming the Rest of India (ROI) side. Before these red-ball achievements, he led Mumbai to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title in 202223, cementing his reputation as one of the finest captains in Indian domestic cricket.

Mohammed Siraj's X-factor will be missed in Asia Cup 2025: Harbhajan Singh

Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has expressed his surprise over pacer Mohammed Siraj's exclusion from India's 15-member squad for the Asia Cup 2025. The Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee announced the squad on Tuesday, August 19, but since then, it has sparked plenty of debate as several notable names have been left out. The legendary spinner believes that Siraj's presence could have made the team look even who was the main architect in India securing a 2-2 draw in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, has also delivered promising performances in limited-overs cricket. In T20Is, he has taken 14 wickets from 16 matches with an economy rate of 7.79. The pacer was also effective in his debut season for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025, claiming 16 wickets in 15 matches, delivering a total of 151 dot balls during the period."I feel that Mohammed Siraj's name should have been in the team. Siraj bowled very well in the recent series (against England). If he had been taken, the team would have looked even stronger. The bowling unit would have seemed stronger. I feel that the X-factor that Siraj brings might be somewhat missed," Harbhajan said on his YouTube channel. Pitches in the UAE are expected to turn and grip, with pacers not playing that big a role in the upcoming tournament. In fact, India boasts of a well-rounded pace attack comprising Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Hardik Pandya as an additional pace option, and it is safe to say that Siraj may have been rested after a tiring England Test last played for India when the team toured Sri Lanka in July 2024. Interestingly, Prasidh Krishna, who won the Purple Cap in IPL 2025 with 25 wickets, has been named amongst the reserves, while Harshit Rana has been given a nod in the named will begin their Asia Cup campaign on September 10 against the UAE in the opening Group A squad for Asia CupSurya Kumar Yadav (C), Shubman Gill (VC), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Jitesh Sharma (WK), Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Sanju Samson (WK), Harshit Rana, Rinku SinghStandby players: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Prasidh Krishna, Washington Sundar, Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel- Ends

Ajinkya Rahane steps down as Mumbai captain ahead of new domestic season

Veteran India batter Ajinkya Rahane on Thursday announced his decision to step down as Mumbai's captain ahead of the upcoming Ranji Trophy season, stating that it is the right time to groom a new leader. Rahane, who shared the update on social media, expressed his honour in leading the side and highlighted his commitment to continue contributing as a player."Captaining and winning championships with the Mumbai team has been an absolute honour. With a new domestic season ahead, I believe it's the right time to groom a new leader, and hence I've decided not to continue in the captaincy role," Rahane posted on X. He added, "I remain fully committed to giving my best as a player and will continue my journey with @MumbaiCricAssoc to help us win more trophies. Looking forward to the season."advertisement Under his leadership, Mumbai ended a seven-year title drought by clinching the Ranji Trophy in 2023-24, defeating Vidarbha in the final. He also led the team to victories in the Irani Cup (2024-25) and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (2022-23), cementing his legacy as one of the most successful captains in Indian domestic relinquishing the captaincy, the 37-year-old, who has amassed over 14,000 runs in 201 first-class matches, made it clear he is not retiring. He will continue to represent Mumbai as a batter across all squad is well-stocked with experienced leaders such as Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Sarfaraz Khan. Except for Jaiswal and Sarfaraz, the others boast impressive captaincy credentials- Iyer has led three IPL franchises, while Suryakumar is the current T20I captain of India. Given Jaiswal's Test commitments, selectors may favour a captain available for most of the domestic season. Both Iyer and Suryakumar, currently not in consideration for Test cricket, are strong candidates to succeed Rahane as Mumbai who last played competitive cricket in IPL 2025, scored 390 runs from 13 matches for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). With his decision to step down from Mumbai's captaincy, questions arise over whether KKR will retain him as captain for the next upcoming Ranji Trophy season begins on October 15, with Mumbai set to face Jammu and Kashmir in their opening match.- EndsYou May Also Like
