In a revealing moment from Netflix's Full Swing docuseries, Paulina Gretzky—model, influencer, and daughter of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky—opened up about one of the most turbulent chapters of her public life: the intense backlash following husband Dustin Johnson's decision to leave the PGA Tour for LIV Golf in 2022.
Paulina Gretzky
stepped back from the spotlight after receiving serious threats
Dustin Johnson's $125 million deal to join the Saudi-backed league ignited a firestorm across the golf world. But while much of the spotlight remained on the athlete, it was Paulina Gretzky who quietly endured a darker side of the controversy.
'People sending death threats and awful, awful, awful things,' Gretzky recalled on Full Swing Season 2. 'People were aggressive that's for sure. But that's when I shut it down for a little bit.
I was like I don't need to look at this. Everyone has an opinion on it. Fine.'

The reaction was so extreme that Paulina made the decision to step away from social media entirely—despite her active and influential online presence. For the daughter of a sports icon and the wife of a two-time major winner, it was a jarring reminder of how personal the world of professional sports can become, especially when politics and money collide.

Paulina Gretzky defends the decision and embraces a new lifestyle
Despite the backlash, Paulina doesn't regret the move. In fact, she credits it with improving their quality of life and giving her more space to stand beside her husband rather than behind him.
'We have a little bit more time together now since things have changed a little, whereas before, it was like, go go go,' she explained. 'We have more control now of how we do things. That old life that we had, I had to take a backseat, but now it feels like we're in the front of the plane together flying.
It was the right move.'

Why are the Stanley Cup Champions still making moves? Panthers land Blue Jackets' Daniil Tarasov
Why Florida Traded for Russian Goalie Daniil Tarasov Post-Stanley Cup (Imagn Images) Fresh off their second straight Stanley Cup victory, the Florida Panthers aren't taking a breather. While the champagne is still flowing in South Florida, the franchise has quietly added another piece to their roster puzzle. On Thursday, the Panthers officially announced the acquisition of Russian goaltender Daniil Tarasov from the Columbus Blue Jackets, parting with a fifth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft in return. Daniil Tarasov to Florida: What the Panthers' latest trade says about their 2025 ambitions Though the spotlight remains on their dominant title run over the Edmonton Oilers, this trade hints at the organization's forward-thinking approach—especially regarding goaltending depth. With veteran Sergei Bobrovsky still commanding the crease, Tarasov could serve as a promising understudy or even see regular ice time if plans shift over the offseason. Tarasov, 26, hails from Novokuznetsk, Russia, and has spent the past four seasons with Columbus after being drafted in the third round (86th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft. While his NHL numbers so far reflect growing pains—posting a 19-34-6 record with a 3.44 GAA and a .898 save percentage—he showed flashes of brilliance, including a 26-save shutout against the New York Rangers on January 18, 2025. Still, his ice time in Columbus diminished late in the season as the Blue Jackets shifted their focus to rising goaltender Jet Greaves, effectively pushing Tarasov down the depth chart. That move made him expendable, and the Panthers saw an opportunity. 'On behalf of the Blue Jackets, I'd like to thank Daniil for his contributions to our organization over the past four years,' Blue Jackets general manager Don Waddell said. 'He is an outstanding young man, and we wish he and his family well in the future.' Now, Tarasov finds himself at a crucial point in his career. Set to become a restricted free agent on July 1, the Panthers must decide whether to offer him a new deal. If re-signed, he could compete for the backup role behind Bobrovsky or gain more seasoning with the Charlotte Checkers in the AHL. That decision may also hinge on Vitek Vanecek's future. Acquired from the San Jose Sharks, Vanecek is poised to hit unrestricted free agency. If Florida opts to retain him on a short-term deal, Tarasov's NHL role may have to wait. Still, this low-risk trade adds a young, skilled goaltender to a franchise that clearly isn't content with just celebrating. Tarasov brings international experience, raw potential, and the hunger to prove himself—and in a championship-winning environment like Florida, the timing couldn't be better. 'KFC, UFC, USC, OKC in 5': Anthony Edwards' raw behind-the-scenes reaction to Oklahoma City Thunder loss goes viral after Western Conference Finals exit
Images via Getty Images Anthony Edwards isn't hiding from the truth—or the pain. After a season that saw him grow into one of the league's most lethal perimeter threats and lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to their second straight Western Conference Finals, Edwards faced a hard lesson in Oklahoma City. The Thunder humbled the Wolves in five games, ending their title hopes. But in true Edwards fashion, he met the moment with raw honesty, humor, and a promise to come back swinging. And yes, he said it all on camera—unedited, unfiltered, and straight from the heart. Anthony Edwards turning Oklahoma City Thunder West Finals loss into fuel for Minnesota Timberwolves' 2025 revenge run The Timberwolves ' 2024–25 campaign was one of growth, especially for Anthony Edwards . He elevated his offensive game, became a premier three-point shooter, and led Minnesota through a dominant postseason stretch, crushing the Los Angeles Lakers and outlasting the depleted Golden State Warriors . But when the Western Conference Finals rolled around, the Oklahoma City Thunder put a hard stop to the Wolves' run. Their elite defense smothered Edwards, holding the star guard in check as OKC cruised to a five-game series win. The Thunder went on to win the NBA title, but for Edwards, that didn't make the sting any easier—or the loss any lighter to carry. On Thursday, Edwards shared a behind-the-scenes vlog on his personal YouTube channel, showing his raw post-game reaction in the hallway of Paycom Center, the Thunder's home arena. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Nhà container vận chuyển thực sự có giá bao nhiêu? - Xem giá Shipping Container Homes Tìm hiểu thêm Undo 'Season five over with,' Edwards said, facing the camera.
