We will look at their 2024 season, their contract status and what their status is for the coming offseason and 2025 season.
Next up is outside linebacker Dennis Gardeck.
2024 Dennis Gardeck stats, season
Gardeck was another Cardinals player felled by the injury bug in 2024. He suffered a torn ACL on Oct. 21 in the Monday night game against the Los Angeles Chargers after playing in seven games with three starts. He was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 25. In 207 snaps (45 percent), Gardeck had 20 tackles (five solo/six for loss), 3.0 sacks for 19 yards, one pressure, four quarterback hits and one interception. All three sacks came in a Week 2 win over the Los Angeles Rams. He also had one forced fumble and two passes defensed. On special teams, Gardeck also played 69 snaps (40 percent).
2025 contract status
Unfortunately for Gardeck, his contract is expiring and he will become an unrestricted free agent on March 12.
Outlook for 2025
Gardeck's status is highly in doubt because of the injury. ACL recovery usually is a minimum of nine months, which takes him to late July. It seems unlikely he would receive a contract offer from the Cardinals or another team while he is rehabbing.

Isaiah Adams appears to be on track to be Arizona Cardinals' starting right guard After starting the final five games of last season, the 2024 third-round draft pick seems to be the plan at right guard. One of the positional questions for the Arizona Cardinals in their starting lineup is at right guard. Will Hernandez remains a free agent and perhaps could return after he has fully recovered from his torn ACL, but we do appear to have some answers for the position. Manning the first-team right guard position is 2024 third-round pick Isaiah Adams. While head coach Jonathan Gannon has not said that specifically, we do have references to it. Starting center Hjalte Froholdt, who spoke to reporters after Wednesday's practice, referred to the offensive line's need to be consistent, whether it is with "Evan and Isaiah right now, or if someone else comes in there." Evan is, of course, Evan Brown, their starting left guard. Isaiah would be Isaiah Adams. Froholdt is happy with what Adams has done so far. Adams started the final five games of the season at right guard, and Froholdt noted how important that experience was for him. "I think Zay has done a tremendous job," he said. "I think he got thrown a little bit into the fire last year, and what better way than just to get tossed in there. It's the best. You make some mistakes and learn from it, so I think that having those opportunities last year has made him such a better player this year." Froholdt continued. "He's a big strong dude. It's nice being in there with him. He plays long. He's smart. He's good to communicate. He understands it, so it's been really good to see what Isaiah has been doing so far." While one might say that it is only minicamp, this is true, and things could change. However, In each of the last two offseasons under Gannon as head coach, they have identified their first-team offensive line in the offseason program to get them working together with consistency and chemistry. In 2023, when left guard was a question, Elijah Wilkinson was with the first team and started the games when he was healthy. Last year, after they signed Brown and it was uncertain where he would play after being a starting center and starting right guard for the previous three seasons for the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks, he was put in immediately at left guard and he played almost every snap of the season there. So having Adams at right guard now is a good sign that he is pegged as the team's starter for the regular season. The San Francisco 49ers reevaluated their needs at wide receiver earlier this offseason and came out with some major takeaways. Namely, they moved to get younger and cheaper at the position, trading former No. 1 receiver Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders. Advertisement Certainly a bold move on their part, general manager John Lynch has remained steadfast in his commitment to adapt this group while easing the burden on their cap. That line of decision making raised questions about the team's intentions with their new No. 1 Brandon Aiyuk. San Francisco has not been shy about their new strategy, so there has been some sentiment to trading Aiyuk. However, Niners insider Grant Cohn has taken that a step further, urging the team to to work with the Commanders again. This time they would send Aiyuk and return Terry McLaurin in the deal. "McLaurin is older than Aiyuk, but he's also faster than Aiyuk and might have a better relationship with the quarterback. I'm guessing McLaurin would love to play for the 49ers if they extend him. And I'm guessing Aiyuk would love to play with Daniels and Deebo Samuel in Washington." Advertisement Much of that projection involves Aiyuk's relationship with Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels who happens to be a very close friend. But a straight-up swap for the two players is not happening. While McLaurin's contract disputes with the team has led to a holdout from mandatory minicamp, trading him away would seem an egregious error for a team on the rise. He consistently posts 1,000 yards and comes off arguably his best campaign yet. Daniels and Aiyuk may have a strong relationship, but sacrificing an arguable top 10 receiver for a player coming off a serious ACL injury makes for an extremely high risk. For the Niners, McLaurin would be great to have in a vacuum. But any trade that happens will still need his extension situation sorted out afterward. The Niners have committed big money to several players this offseason and this would be another. Advertisement McLaurin will likely demand a salary well over $30 million per year and higher than the number Aiyuk sits at now. Pulling off such a trade essentially puts them in the same place financially with a longer commitment to an older receiver. More likely than not, Washington will eventually meet their star at the negotiating table and get a new deal done.
