Mohamed Mounir Discharged from Hospital
Yara Sameh 'The King' Mohamed Mounir was discharged from the hospital on Thursday following his recovery from a recent health scare. On Wednesday, the acclaimed singer was hospitalised after suffering from a sudden health scare. The nature of the illness has not been disclosed. In the aftermath, Mounir has postponed his upcoming show at the 3rd edition of the New Alamein Festival in North Coast, Egypt, which was initially set to take place on Saturday (August 16). Mounir took to social media to reassure fans of his well-being after his sudden health scare. "I have recovered and left the hospital a short while ago. I want to reassure all my fans that I am fine, thank God. In the coming days, I will record the rest of the songs from the new album and prepare for some gigs," he wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday. Born on October 10, 1954, Mounir is one of the Middle East's best singers. He released his 1977 debut solo album, 'Alemony Eneeki' on the Sonar record label, after completing his military service. The acclaimed performer has released over 22 albums and six soundtrack albums. Mounir, whose musical career spanned over three decades, presented various genres in his music, such as classical Egyptian Music, Nubian music, blues, jazz, and reggae. Veteran Actor Sayed Sadek Dies at 80
Yara Sameh Veteran Egyptian actor Sayed Sadek died on Friday at the age of 80, leaving behind a rich legacy. Screenwriter Louay El Sayed Sadek, the actor's son, announced his death on social media but did not include details about his cause of death. The late actor's funeral is set to be held after Friday prayer at the Police Mosque in the 6th of October City, Giza Governorate, where he is set to be buried afterwards in the Fayoum Road Cemetery. No date has been set for the solace ceremony yet. Born on June 18, 1945, Sadek is known for his sharp features and physical build that helped him play the roles of villains and outlaw businessmen. The acclaimed actor, a holder of a high school diploma, launched a successful acting career with his unique presence. Throughout the decades, his career spanned both cinema and television, presenting memorable supporting roles in films such as "El-Nimr wa el-Untha," "Keda Reda," 'Al-Tajroba Al-Denmarkeya," "Hassan and Marcus," and "Fawzia the Bourgeoisie". He also appeared in several hit TV series, including "Yetrebi Fi Ezzo" and "Fere'et Nagy Attallah". Sayed Sadek, known for his distinctive supporting roles in film and television, has passed away aged 80. Aug 08, 2025 Veteran Egyptian actor Sayed Sadek, known for his striking features and memorable supporting roles, has passed away at the age of 80, his son, screenwriter Louay El Sayed, confirmed. Funeral prayers will be held today following Friday prayers at the Police Mosque in Sheikh Zayed City, with burial planned at the Fayoum Road Cemetery. Despite holding only a high school diploma, Sadeq carved out a successful acting career marked by his unique presence. His career spanned both cinema and television, featuring notable work in films such as 'Keda Reda', 'El Embrator', 'Hassan and Marcus' and 'Fawzia the Bourgeoisie'. He also appeared in several popular TV series, including 'Yetrebi Fi Ezzo' and 'Fere'et Nagy Attallah'. Sadek's contributions to Egyptian drama were also recognised beyond the screen, having recently received a special honour at the second Cairo Drama Festival in Alamein two years ago.
