Stewards reject Red Bull protest of Russell's win
Formula One stewards rejected a Red Bull protest of George Russell's Canadian Grand Prix victory for Mercedes on Sunday.
The stewards said in a lengthy statement issued five and a half hours after the end of the race that the protest was not founded.
Red Bull, who forfeited their deposit, had Max Verstappen finish second.
They had argued Russell breached the rules by driving erratically when the safety car was deployed in the final laps of the race and also showed unsportsmanlike conduct.
Stewards dismissed the allegations.
While Russell and Verstappen are not friends and have clashed on the track, notably in Spain two weeks ago when Red Bull's four-time world champion was heavily punished, Horner said it was not personal.
Red Bull have however protested twice in the space of five races now, both times against Russell.
In Miami in May they protested against the Briton's third place, arguing the driver had failed to slow when yellow flags were waved during a virtual safety car period. Verstappen was fourth that time.

The departure from Renault of CEO Luca de Meo changes nothing for the French carmaker's Alpine Formula One team, de facto principal Flavio Briatore told Reuters on Sunday. Renault announced De Meo was leaving shortly after the newspaper Le Figaro reported he will take over the leadership of the luxury group Kering. Briatore, a title-winning boss of the Benetton and Renault F1 teams, returned to Formula One a year ago as executive adviser to De Meo and has been running the team since Oliver Oakes resigned as principal. Briatore has denied being tasked to improve the team's performance before selling it. Alpine are currently last of the 10 teams. Alpine will compete with Mercedes power units next season after Renault decided last September to end engine production at its Viry-Chatillon factory outside Paris. The team, whose investors include Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds and NFL stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, are alone in using Renault power units. De Meo said last October that Renault were spending up to €250m (R5.19bn) a year on engine production while buying in from another manufacturer would cost less than $20m (R358.94m).

Lewis Hamilton kills groundhog during Canadian Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton said he felt devastated after learning that he had hit and killed a groundhog, damaging his Ferrari car, on his way to finishing sixth in the Canadian Grand Prix. Hamilton, who owns a French bulldog called Roscoe that is often seen with him at Grands Prix, said he did not see the groundhog and felt that the incident reduced the performance of his car after a bright start Sunday. 'It was feeling pretty decent up until then,' said the seven-time world champion. 'I got a good start, I held position and I was holding onto the leading group. 'I was managing the tyres well, so I was feeling optimistic. 'I didn't see it happen, but I heard I hit a groundhog. That's devastating because I love animals and I'm so sad about it. It's horrible. 'That's never happened to me before here, but the floor – basically the right-side – there was a hole in it. 'Given that, and we had a brake issue halfway through as well, and then we probably stayed out too long in the first stop and came out behind traffic… it went from one thing to another.' After going 10 races without a podium this season for the first time in his Formula One career, having joined Ferrari, Hamilton was expressing mounting frustration at the team's disappointing start to the year. 'I'm grateful that I finished, particularly with the brake issue I had. We are really in need of an upgrade, but there are a lot of things that need to change in order for us to compete at the front.' Team-mate Charles Leclerc finished fifth despite missing much of Friday practice after crashing in the opening session, but said he was frustrated by how his race had unfolded.
