Robert Downey Jr. reveals another Marvel comic in his Avengers: Doomsday reading material, and this one could be teasing a Doctor Doom vs. Iron Man showdown
Robert Downey Jr. has teased yet another Marvel comic in his collection of Avengers: Doomsday reading material – and this one is even more wild and cryptic than the last.
On his personal Instagram, Downey posted another video that shows him listening to a song titled 'Change of Scenery' by his son, Indio Downey, before panning over to a table that shows the comic Secret Wars #1 by Jim Shooter as well as Iron Man: Legacy of Doom by Bob Layton and David Michelinie.
Legacy of Doom, which hit shelves in 2008, sees Iron Man team up with Doctor Doom as part of a deal to save the world... until Doom sells Iron Man to Mephisto in exchange for an enigmatic artifact.
In Secret Wars, in which the story is told over the course of 12 issues, a villain called The Beyonder sends the Avengers to a planet known as Battleworld, in which they are trapped and locked into (seemingly) eternal battle with other villains. Of course, this is seemingly the basis of Avengers: Secret Wars, which will follow Doomsday.
It's worth noting that this is the comic book arc where Spider-Man receives his famous all-black costume that ends up being a living alien symbiote – which attempts to take over Peter's mind before attaching itself to Eddie Brock and becoming Venom.
Yesterday, Downey posted himself reading West Coast Avengers #35...which I took as an unofficial confirmation that the long-rumored West Coast Avengers debut will indeed come to fruition in Avengers: Doomsday.
But will we see Downey return as Iron Man for a brief moment, or is this just a cheeky tease for hardcore Marvel fans? Either way, I'm very down to watch him battle himself, if that's where this is all going.

Former Superman Dean Cain says 'Lois & Clark' costar Teri Hatcher cried during every flying scene: 'It hurt'
From skin-tight spandex to unforgiving wire-assisted stunts, Cain describes shooting the ABC series as a gauntlet. For four years, Dean Cain flew through the skies of Metropolis with Teri Hatcher in his arms. And Teri Hatcher was in pain each time. The former Superman recently reminisced to Variety on his time shooting the adventure comedy Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, which ran from 1993-1997 on ABC. Cain says the series "changed my life insanely," and while Lois & Clark no doubt led to exciting career opportunities and regularly produced handsome paydays for its previously small-time star, it also left other lasting effects on its stars. "There's no blood flow going to your legs. After hanging for hours, I would have to get a massage just to keep the blood moving from quadrant to quadrant," Cain recalled of the show's many scenes in which his Superman would swoop Hatcher's Lois Lane off her feet and fly, a stunt aided by unforgivingly rigid wires that would cut off Cain and Hatcher's circulation. "Teri would cry. She'd be in tears every single time we had to fly because it hurt." The pain and discomfort stopped there for Hatcher, but Cain wasn't so lucky. Reminiscing on his iconic super-suit, Cain said, "When they first brought it to me, it was this royal blue spandex bodysuit. We ended up putting in stirrups so that it stayed in place. And the boots were a whole lace-up thing at first." The 58-year-old Michigan native recalled wearing the suit on an extraordinarily hot Los Angeles day. "You can't sweat," he shared. "If you sweat, it balls up. So I didn't. I'm a Japanese dude. I don't sweat that much. I'm not hairy at all. They didn't have to shave my chest or anything. But still..."Cain has periodically revisited his Lois & Clark days over the years, remarking just in May, "Overall, it was amazing. Incredible. What a way to start a career." Cain described his working relationship with Hatcher, which was at times beset by rumors of discord, as "sometimes the greatest thing in the world and sometimes a lot more difficult... We had great chemistry. There were times where it was just the easiest thing in the world." Cain and Hatcher went their separate ways after Lois & Clark aired its final episode in June 1997. Though they've haven't since shared the screen, they have both returned to the expanded Superman screen franchise on several occasions, twice on the same program. The stars both appeared in guest roles on Smallville, the coming-of-age take on the kid from Krypton, and the CW's Supergirl, which follows Superman's similarly super-powered cousin. Cain took on a guest role in Smallville's seventh season as the immortal Dr. Curtis Knox, and appeared regularly between 2015 and 2017 on Supergirl as the titular heroine's foster dad, Jeremiah Danvers. Hatcher, meanwhile, played Ella Lane, the mother to her Lois & Clark character Lois Lane on seasons 4 and 10 of Smallville. Gwyneth Paltrow's savage nickname for Winona Ryder revealed: book
Gwyneth Paltrow's alleged nasty nickname for Winona Ryder was revealed in Amy Odell's bombshell new biography about the Goop founder, titled 'Gwyneth.' Paltrow allegedly started calling her ex-pal 'Vagina Ryder' after suspecting Ryder was making up stories for attention in the 1990s, per the Daily Mail. Odell claimed the duo's fallout happened shortly after Paltrow split from Brad Pitt — whom she dated from 1994 to 1997 — and moved into Ryder's New York City apartment. At the time, Ryder, now 53, was dating Matt Damon while Paltrow, now 52, began a romance with Damon's best friend, Ben Affleck. According to Odell, Ryder and Damon once got into a fight and she rushed to tell him she had been robbed. Odell claimed this happened twice, and Damon was empathetic to his then-girlfriend. Meanwhile, Paltrow allegedly believed that the 'Stranger Things' star was making up the robberies for the sake of attention. 'Damon consoled her, but Gwyneth and Affleck believed Ryder fabricated the robberies as a ploy for attention (there's no proof of this),' Odell writes in the book, per the Daily Mail. 'Gwyneth was annoyed that Damon couldn't see it. Though Damon was kind to her friends, Gwyneth didn't seem to like him after that.' 'Her friendship with Ryder would only deteriorate further, and Gwyneth gave her the nickname 'Vagina Ryder,'' Odell claims. Reps for Paltrow and Ryder weren't immediately available to Page Six for comment. Elsewhere in the book, Odell claims, per People, that Paltrow swiped the lead of 1998's 'Shakespeare in Love' from Ryder after originally turning it down. 'After a story about Gwyneth allegedly stealing the script from Winona's coffee table reached the media, Gwyneth told friends that Ryder had started the rumor, and insisted she'd received the script through her agent,' the author alleges. While Ryder or Paltrow never addressed their alleged feud, the latter previously spoke of a 'frenemy' who wanted to see her demise in a 2009 Goop blog post. 'Back in the day, I had a 'frenemy' who, as it turned out, was pretty hell-bent on taking me down,' Paltrow wrote at the time. 'This person really did what they could to hurt me.' 'I was deeply upset, I was angry, I was all of those things you feel when you find out that someone you thought you liked was venomous and dangerous,' the 'Iron Man' star continued. 'I restrained myself from fighting back. … But one day I heard that something unfortunate and humiliating had happened to this person. And my reaction was deep relief and happiness.'
