Lulu pleads with Sharon Osbourne to contact her hours before Ozzy's funeral
Lulu reached out to Sharon Osbourne ahead of the funeral of Black Sabbath icon Ozzy as the Scots star appeared live on ITV. The Shout singer was speaking with Lorraine host Christine Lampard on Wednesday morning when she sent out a heartfelt plea to Sharon to get in touch with her, hours before the funeral will take place.
Ozzy will be laid to rest today after a procession through his hometown of Birmingham. Before it starts around 1pm this afternoon, Lulu pleaded with former X factor judge Sharon, or her assistant Melinda Varga, to contact her. She said: 'I wanna say, Sharon, I know you won't be watching but if anyone is watching, Melinda, can you call me? I know they're busy but I want to get hold of you guys because I really, really want to be there to support Sharon."
Just two weeks before Ozzy's sad passing at the age of 76 last week, he had performed at an epic homecoming show at Birmingham's Villa Park. Referring to the Back to the Beginning concert, Lulu added: 'Unbelievable, you couldn't make it up. You couldn't plan that exit."
Rock legend Ozzy s set to make his final journey through the city that made him when his body will be taken by hearse through the streets of Birmingham, giving fans a chance to say farewell before his private funeral.
The cortege will begin its journey down Broad Street at approximately 1pm, passing through landmarks which honour the rock legend's life and career.
Among the key stops will be the now-famous Black Sabbath Bridge, where fans have covered a bench with heartwarming tributes and heartfelt messages since news of his death.
The hearse will be accompanied by a moving live performance from a Birmingham based brass band, as well as other local musicians. Additionally a tram named after Ozzy, which was unveiled in 2016, will be parked nearby outside the Birmingham Library as the procession moves through the city.
A source told The Sun that the funeral guest list includes several of the star's longtime friends and other musicians. The source stated: "His Sabbath bandmates, Tony Iommi, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler, will be there, along with James Hetfield from Metallica."
"Elton John is also hoping to join the family at the church. Sharon and his family have been so touched by messages they received not only from Ozzy's friends, but also his fans around the world," they concluded.
Singer Yungblud is also expected to attend and give a reading at the private service.
Lulu, who was appearing to discuss recent duets with Robbie Williams and Rod Stewart and also to promote new book If Only You Knew, found her message to Sharon ahead of the funeral didn't get too warm a reaction from Lorraine viewers, as reports the Mirror.
One wrote on X: "Lulu asking Sharon to get in touch with her. Painful."
Another added: "Lulu making it all about her. And Sharon's avoiding her calls. Lol."

Ray Brooks, whose TV career spanned five decades, has died aged 86. The actor was best known for narrating the 1970's children's show Mr Benn, but also had notable roles in Cathy Comes Home, Big Deal and Running Wild. Maya Jama 'offered millions for Love Island as Netflix tries to poach her
Love Island host Maya Jama could reportedly secure a lucrative deal for ITV's longtime reality show hit to prevent losing her to rivals like Netflix. The twist-filled, sunny dating show just wrapped up for another year, and the show seems to be on the up and up with some fans hailing it 'the best season ever' and their viewing figures hitting 2.5 million – higher than it has been in years. A large part of this recent success coincides with the 30-year-old host taking over as the presenter in 2023 (after it experienced all-time lows of 1.3m viewers), not only revitalising the format but also gaining 3.2m followers along the way. All Stars. The 46-year-old former footballer is said to be returning to the jungle alongside a number of other former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! contestants from previous years and the ex-Soccer AM host will be hoping to do better than his original stint in 2014, when he was the first campmate to be voted off. A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "Jimmy had a brilliant time in the original series he took part in and it really opened the door to his broadcasting career. "He was voted off first last time and he felt he had a lot more to give. "Now he's got the chance to get stuck in again, although he's a bit older so he is worried he might find it harder to rough it. "His banter is still on top form though. Producers are hopeful he'll have a bromance with Harry Redknapp, who is also taking part." As well as Jimmy and 2018 King of the Jungle Harry Redknapp, The Only Way Is Essex star Gemma Collins - who lasted only three days in the jungle when she took part in the 2014 edition of the programme - and 2016's third-placed Adam Thomas are also set to take part. "It's the perfect time for him to head back into the jungle and affirm his position as Mr Bushtucker Trial." The first legends series aired in 2023 and saw the returns of former campmates Myleene Klass, Helen Flanagan and Jordan Banjo. "We're very excited about bringing back campmates from over the years in a brand-new setting in South Africa."
