Speaking exclusively to The Sun, he said: 'Is It's always sad when you finish the job.
'It's a massive shame to say goodbye to the character and not going to be able to play him anymore but to be fair, I didn't think I'd ever get a chance to play him again.
'So I'm very happy that the opportunity come around to come back and bring the character back and is quite interesting ending so I'm quite satisfied.'
Viewers watched today and discovered that the Robbie they'd seen over the past few months, trapped in serial killer Jez Blake's shed, was actually a vision in Jez's head.
And the ghostly appearance has given him hope that Robbie could make a further appearance once day back in the village.
'I always say it is Hollyoaks you know a lot of come out from the dead who knows,' he said.
'I never said never the first time so I'll never say never again so we'll see what happens but as of now as at this moment Robbie is gone.'
He said of missing the 30th: 'It is gutting actually.
'It has been so lovely going back and I've done everything I wanted to do and it worked out brilliantly and that is the only seeing if I was being really greedy I would've loved to have done it but to the contract just didn't fall over that that time and date which is a shame because I was there for the 21st and I was 21 and I'm 30 now I'd love to be the 30th.
'But I knew that would only be at least three months and then I got to come back for a year and I knew it knew it gonna be a year.
Cheating scandal, rival soap star and huge shocks in Hollyoaks' explosive summer trailer
'But we didn't know what the end was gonna be. I haven't really thought about it the whole time to be honest I just assume because the character is gonna come back maybe I just do the same thing again.
'He was every time I have to leave to do another job or have a bit of a break or ever will be always kind of went on the run so I assumed we might go on the run again.
'I'm really pleased that's just not the same old and that because he means it's a little bit different and little bit special.
'And I don't know if it's been done before it might have certainly not something I've seen or done so I think actually to close the door on it in a way that you know it was very different and a bit of a risk.'

Kate Garraway shares gushing thanks to 'gallant stranger' for his act of kindness after enjoying Wembley Oasis gig with her kids
Kate Garraway has shared her gushing thanks to a 'gallant stranger' for his sweet act of kindness at an Oasis gig. The broadcaster, 58, took to Instagram over the weekend to share that she had been lucky enough to catch the Gallagher brothers' at Wembley the week before. Kate had been joined by her children, daughter Darcey, 19, and son Billy, 16, who she shares with her late husband Derek Drape - who tragically died last year at the age of 56 from COVID-19 complications. But Kate revealed that a kind stranger made her experience at the concert even more enjoyable, putting her on his shoulders so she could get a good view and 'relive her 20s'. She wrote: 'For all those catching the @oasis lads #murrayfield tonight you are in for the time of your life. This was us last week at Wembley - loving every second of it. 'Special mention has to go to the gallant stranger (bottom right) who hauled me onto his shoulders for #champagnesupernova to relive my 20's at #knebworth 96. 'I can only assume he didn't realise a) I'm heavier than I look & b) how long that song actually is !!! Do hope he's not spent all week at the chiropractor but eternally grateful!' Kate has been forced to sell her second home after Derek fought a brave four-year battle against Covid before tragically passing away in January last year. She is also battling company debts after Derek's psychotherapy firm Astra Aspera Ltd went bust owing hundreds of thousands to creditors including a huge sum to HMRC with Kate currently trying to pay back some of the debt. Now, the Good Morning Britain star is flogging a stunning three-bed, four-storey townhouse in Islington, north London, which the couple bought for £550,000 in 2004. The property had been up for rent for £6,750-a-month, but is now in the process of being sold, confirmed by the Land Registry Office, and should fetch around £2 million. In January last year, the Mail on Sunday reported that Kate was faced with having to sell her five-bedroom family home in Muswell Hill, but by selling her second home, this appears to have been avoided. Daily Mail have contacted Kate's representatives for comment at the time. One source said at the time: 'It is so sad for Kate. Not only has she had to watch her beloved husband suffer for almost four years but her financial worries have never been far away from her thoughts. She wrote: 'For all those catching the @oasis lads #murrayfield tonight you are in for the time of your life. This was us last week at Wembley - loving every second of it' 'It has cost hundreds of thousands of pounds to look after Derek and do everything she could to get him better but it's left her struggling. 'The house is about all she has left financially and she is now facing up to the fact it might have to be sold.' According to the rental listing for her Islington pad, it has a roof terrace and private garden. The blurb states: 'This beautifully presented 3-bedroom terraced house offers a perfect blend of modern living and period charm. 'Spread across four spacious floors, this property is ideal for those seeking comfort, style, and convenience. 'The ground floor features a welcoming living area with original features and ample space for relaxing or entertaining. 'The fully fitted kitchen is stylish and functional, leading directly to a private garden, perfect for outdoor dining or enjoying the fresh air. 'On the first and second floors, you'll find well-sized bedrooms, each offering plenty of natural light and built-in storage.
