Egypt Sets November 1 as Official Opening Date for the Grand Egyptian Museum
Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly has officially announced that the Grand Egyptian Museum will be inaugurated on November 1.
During the weekly Cabinet meeting held at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, the Prime Minister directed all ministries and relevant bodies to continue finalizing the preparations for this historic event. These include technical and organizational arrangements for both the museum and the surrounding area to ensure the opening ceremony reflects Egypt's cultural prestige and accommodates visiting delegations and guests appropriately. The date was approved by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Dr. Madbouly highlighted that the inauguration will welcome a large number of official figures from various countries and will feature a series of cultural and tourism-related events. These celebrations aim to underscore the museum's significance as a global cultural destination that showcases the richness and continuity of Egyptian civilization through the ages.
Earlier, Dr. Madbouly had announced that the official opening of the museum had been postponed to the last quarter of 2025, after initially being scheduled for July 3.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the delay was due to regional developments, with a new date to be determined in coordination with all stakeholders to ensure the event meets international standards and reflects Egypt's cultural and touristic stature.
The ministry emphasized that the decision reflects Egypt's national responsibility and its commitment to presenting the event in a way that honors its ancient heritage and attracts global attention.
Meanwhile, the museum continues to welcome visitors as part of its soft opening phase until the official inauguration takes place.
Back in February, the Prime Minister had announced President El-Sisi's approval for the July 3 opening, with planned festivities to extend over several days. At that time, Madbouly had emphasized ongoing coordination between various ministries to ensure the event would serve as a powerful promotional platform for Egypt and its recent achievements.

Egypt categorically condemns Israel's decision to completely occupy Gaza - Foreign Affairs
Egypt condemned in the strongest terms on Friday the Israeli cabinet's decision to adopt a plan for the complete occupation of the Gaza Strip, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. In a statement, the ministry said this plan aims to entrench the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, continue the war of extermination in the Gaza Strip, eliminate all elements of life for the Palestinian people, and liquidate the Palestinian cause. Cairo further condemned this plan, which also aims to undermine the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the realisation of their independent state. It described the plan as a blatant and unacceptable violation of international law and international humanitarian law. "Israel's continued policy of starvation, systematic killing, and genocide against the defenseless Palestinian people will only fuel the conflict, and further escalate tensions," the Egyptian foreign ministry said in the statement. Egypt further reiterated that Israel's policies will also deepen hatred and spread extremism in the region, which has already been exacerbated by the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza, causing an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe. Cairo called on the international community, including the UN Security Council and all relevant parties, to assume their political, legal, and moral responsibilities and to take urgent action to stop Israel's policy of lawlessness and arrogance of power. The Egyptian foreign ministry emphasised that Israel's lawless and arrogant policies seek to impose a fait accompli by force, undermine the prospects for achieving peace, and eliminate the viability of the two-state solution. Egypt reaffirmed that neither Israel nor the region will enjoy security or stability except through the realisation of the Palestinian state based on the lines of 4 June 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Earlier on Friday, Israel's political-security cabinet approved a plan to seize control of Gaza City, thus expanding military operations there despite intensifying criticism at home and abroad. The decision also comes following multiple failed attempts to mediate a ceasefire and a rising international outcry over Israel's starvation policies against the Palestinian people, especially women and children. Israel's announcement has sparked widespread global condemnation. Numerous countries and global organisations warned that such a move violates international law, undermines peace prospects, and exacerbates the already dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza. On Tuesday, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi described the war in the Gaza Strip as no longer about captives or political objectives but a war of "starvation, a genocide," and an attempt to liquidate the Palestinian cause. During a press conference in Cairo, El-Sisi accused the international community of standing by, watching as the lives of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank become political bargaining cards. Since October 2023, the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza has left over 60,000 Palestinians killed, and more than 150,000 others injured, most of them women and children. El-Sisi rejects Palestinians displacement in call with Abbas - Foreign Affairs
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi affirmed Friday Egypt's firm and categorical rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from their land during a phone call with Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas. According to the Egyptian presidency, El-Sisi further underscored Egypt's ongoing intensive efforts to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, and secure the release of captives and detainees. During the call, the Palestinian president expressed his sincere appreciation for Egypt's unwavering positions in support of the Palestinian cause, praising Cairo's firm stance in rejecting the displacement of the Palestinian people. Abbas also appreciated the ongoing humanitarian aid provided by the Egyptian state to the Palestinian people amid the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in Gaza. He affirmed that the Palestinian state stands with the Egyptian leadership, army, government, and people in confronting any attempts to destabilise its security and stability. Additionally, Abbas emphasised the importance of an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the release of captives and detainees, and the entry of humanitarian aid. He warned of the gravity of the Israeli government's recent decision to reoccupy the Gaza Strip and displace its population to the south. This decision, Abbas said, constituted a new crime added to the series of Israeli violations in the West Bank and Jerusalem. Moreover, the Palestinian president affirmed that he was determined to continue all levels of political action to mobilise regional and international support against these plans. These actions include approaching the UN Security Council, the League of Arab States, and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. He also stressed the need to enable the Palestinian state to assume its full responsibilities in the Gaza Strip, including security, with Arab and international support. Furthermore, Abbas emphasised that the Israeli occupation must withdraw its forces from Gaza to allow the restoration of a unified law, including the retention of weapons by a legitimate authority, under the umbrella of a Palestinian state. On Friday, Israel's political-security cabinet approved a plan to seize control of Gaza City, hence expanding military operations in the strip. Israel's decision comes amidst mounting criticism at home and abroad of its genocidal war on Gaza, which Israel has waged since 7 October 2023. The decision also comes following multiple failed attempts to mediate a ceasefire and rising international condemnation of Israel's starvation policies against the Palestinians in Gaza, particularly women and children. On Tuesday, El-Sisi described the war in Gaza as no longer about captives or political objectives but "a war of starvation, a genocide," and an attempt to liquidate the Palestinian cause. During a press conference in Cairo, he accused the international community of standing by, watching the lives of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank become a political bargaining card. Michael Bay Exits Will Smith Netflix Action Movie "Fast and Loose"
Yara Sameh Netflix is back to searching for a director for "Fast and Loose," after Michael Bay and Will Smith were unable to bridge creative differences and Bay exited the project. "Fast and Loose" stars Smith as a man who wakes up in Tijuana with no memories. As he pieces together his past, he learns he's been living two lives: one as a crime kingpin and the other as an undercover CIA agent. The script was written by Jon Hoeber, Erich Hoeber, Chris Bremner, and Eric Pearson. The film has action as well as comic moments, but Bay wanted more emphasis on the former while Smith wanted to lean into the latter. They are looking to shoot in October, and Netflix will lock in a new filmmaker to keep things on track. Bay has plenty else to do. He is discussing with Paramount a return to the Transformers fold with a new version of that tentpole, and he's also percolating at Universal OutRun, an adaptation of the video game that is a star vehicle for Sydney Sweeney. Jayson Rothwell is scripting with Bay and Brad Fuller producing with Sweeney. A reunion between Bay and Smith was significant because their stars launched together with 1995's "Bad Boys." That film was Bay's film directing debut, and it was the vehicle that provided the first glimpse of how well Smith would fare as a charismatic action star. "Fast and Loose" is being produced by Smith's Westbrook Studios and Kelly McCormick and David Leitch for 87North. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results
