BREAKING: Star defender joins Orlando Pirates!

Orlando Pirates have reportedly secured the services of Baroka FC defender Tshepho Mashiloane. The 23-year-old is expected to make the switch at the beginning of July.
'We still got to pay Mashiloane until the end of June, but Orlando Pirates have purchased Mashiloane for the coming season, not this season,' Baroka's chairman Khurishi Mphahlele informed iDiski Times .
'But if Pirates want Mashiloane earlier there's no problem we've got an agreement with Pirates. We can always make provision for that, but we are going to pay Mashiloane at the end of June because his contract ends at the end of June and the Pirates contract begins on the first of July.
'From the first of July he is an Orlando Pirates player, until then he's still our player and we pay him.'
Mashiloane is just one of many names expected to arrive in the offseason after the Buccaneers failed to sign a single player during the January transfer market.
According to reports, Orlando Pirates have reignited their interest in Cape Town City youngster Jaedin Rhodes.
'One of those reinforcements could be a long-time target, Jaedin Rhodes. Although the 22-year-old has endured an underwhelming season with Cape Town City, he remains a high priority on the Buccaneers' list,' a source said.
'The club [Orlando Pirates] has been met with resistance by City in previous attempts to lure Rhodes to Gauteng, but according to sources, will try once more in the upcoming window. Complicating matters will be the Citizens' peculiar situation.'

Orlando Pirates starting XI vs Stellenbosch FC

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has named his strongest possible starting line-up for Wednesday's clash against Stellenbosch FC. Kick-off at Orlando Stadium is at 19:30. Ouaddou is under immense pressure to deliver a win over Stellies as Pirates are currently sitting 15th on the log. They are one of the only two teams with no points this season – the other being Richards Bay FC who are 16th on the log. Now, Ouaddou has made a single change to the team that faced Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend. Patrick Maswanganyi is the only player who is missing from the starting line-up, and his place has been taken by Oswin Appollis. Pirates to face Sundowns in the MTN8. Orlando Pirates: Devin Titus vs Mashiloane?

Stellenbosch forward Devin Titus has been a thorn in the Orlando Pirates side for a few years now. The last time he played against the Buccaneers at the Orlando Stadium, he scored the only goal as his team handed Pirates their first league defeat of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season. On Wednesday, the 23-year-old forward returns to the very stadium he silenced thousands of Bucs fans just eight months ago. Both Pirates and Stellies are yet to win a league match after two rounds and will be desperate to turn things around. The Bafana Bafana star is known for his pace and eye for goal and has led Stellenbosch's attack with the departure of Iqraam Rayners. Pirates are vulnerable in defence, having conceded every league match this season. It remains to be seen who Abdeslam Ouaddou will field at right-back. Tshepo Mashiloane has been the coach's preferred right-back for the Buccaneers but the ex-Baroka defender has struggled so far. If Orlando Pirates start with Mashiloane, Titus might have a good outing in Orlando once again. Oouaddou might also consider ex-stellies captain Deano van Rooyen, who played against Mamelodi Sundowns this past weekend. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211.
