Sophie Ellis Bextor 'gatecrashes' Irish wedding and serenades newlyweds
The Murder on the Dancefloor singer, 46, belted out her best-known hit while rocking heart-shaped sunglasses, trainers, and a cheeseburger-shaped backpack, showing this was truly a spontaneous appearance.
Despite her dressed-down apparel, the guests looked like they were having a whale of a time as the star took over on the mic and performed alongside a live band.
Shouting 'Congratulations!' mid-song, she was keen to make the performance about the bride and groom, on their special day at Ashford Lodge in Mayo, Ireland.
'Best wedding crasher ever,' captioned the TikTok shared online from a wedding guest named Jennifer Gillespie.
Jennifer went on to explain how the celebrity gatecrasher came to be a spontaneous performer at the wedding.
'She was staying in the hotel and had just played at another wedding in the castle!' she explained to one commenter.
'She had also played @Galway International Arts Fest during the week.'
She explained further to another commenter: 'Sophie was playing at another wedding in Ashford Castle that night and staying in The Lodge.
'One of the guests spotted her in the lobby singing along when her song came on and asked her to come out and sing which she was kind enough to do 🥰 she made the bride and groom's night 🤍'
The star had a massive comeback in 2024 after the release of the 'freaky' erotic thriller film, Saltburn at the end of 2023. More Trending
Her song Murder on the Dancefloor was used in the final scene, where Barry Keoghan's Oliver triumphantly dances fully naked through the halls of stately home Saltburn to the track, immediately cementing the scene in cinema history and seeing the popstar soar back into the charts.
She spoke to the BBC about her song's return to the charts: 'It was over Christmas last year, we were at home, and just seeing the numbers going crazy for people interacting with the song on streaming and TikTok.'
She added: 'To be honest, at that time it was all quite abstract, and I think this year has been about turning it into an actuality.'

Moments later, she revealed a comment she often hears from haters: 'Ew, housing association tenants don't look after their house.' But eager to clap back at keyboard warriors, Paige uploaded a series of snaps of her gorgeous home, leaving many gobsmacked. Paige confirmed that she nabbed bargains from the high-street to create a trendy, beige aesthetic. Alongside the video, the content creator wrote: 'Love our little home.' Paige later revealed that she bought her kitchen table and chairs from B&Q for just £50. She also acknowledged that the property has been painted with the Dulux Trade Brilliant White paint, which you can buy from B&Q, Screwfix and Wickes. Trolls say council houses can't look nice but my stunning hallway will prove them wrong Not only this, but the bargain hunter bought a large mirror from The Range, which was reduced from £100 to £50, as well as garden furniture from Dunelm. The savvy mum then confirmed that she is 'not allowed to decorate' the council house, so rather than using wallpaper to add style to her child's bedroom, she added wall stickers from Shein. She explained: 'It's a brand new build so I have to wait a year for it to settle so I'm finding other ways I can give it a bit of personality without painting and wallpapering!' DIY fans were impressed with Paige's beautiful home and many eagerly raced to the comments to express this. Wow! You've made that a home TikTok user One person said: 'It really annoys me how some people look down on others just because they live in a council house. We work hard, and if we want to, we can make our home look beautiful - even without spending a lot of money. 'People shouldn't judge based on that. Well done you, your house looks amazing.' Another added: 'You've made it into a beautiful home for you and your family. Your housing association is lucky to have such good tenants.' The reality of living in a council house LEANNE Hall, Digital Writer at Fabulous, has discussed what it was like growing up in a council house, and why those living in such properties are often judged... When I was a child I grew up in a council house, and was blissfully unaware of the discrimination that came with that, until I became an adult. My younger years were spent running up and down the stairs of my flat, meeting with other friends who lived there and making the most of the communal garden. But now, it seems no matter your circumstance, everyone has something to say about why you shouldn't be there. Living just outside of London like I did, rent prices are still high, and as my mum was at home raising three kids at the time, it wasn't easy to find a job that fit around that. People in council houses are often labelled as 'scroungers' or 'lazy' but it's nothing of the sort. Most families in council homes experience overcrowding, and let's not even mention the horrendous amount of damp and mould that comes from living in old social housing that hasn't had work done to them in 50 or so years. It's not ideal for many, but it does provide a secure home without the fear your rent will shoot up every single year, which I would argue is vital to children growing up on the poverty line. A third commented: 'Stunning home.' Meanwhile, someone else beamed: 'My dream.' Whilst another gushed: 'Wow! You've made that a home.' In response, Paige wrote back and confirmed: 'Thank you! It's getting there. I still have so much to do/put up etc!' Unlock even more award-winning articles as The Sun launches brand new membership programme - Sun Club

Major royal 'won't get involved' in Harry rift talks after 'extreme disloyalty'
Royal expert Jennie Bond has claimed the Duke of Sussex has missed his chance to patch things up with one major royal, who, at one point, may have held the key for a reconciliation As rumours of peace talks between Prince Harry and King Charles continue to swirl after senior aides to the two royals were spotted at a meeting in London, a royal expert has weighed in on the claims that one major royal could mend the rift. Earlier this week, a royal insider shared Harry should've reached out to his aunt, Princess Anne, more during the turbulent times within the royal family that eventually led to Harry and Meghan quitting royal life and relocating to California. The insider, a friend of the princess, who also played second fiddle to her brother, King Charles, said that they had first had the thoughts after Prince Harry's tell-all autobiography Spare was released. But despite the insider's beliefs, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes it is too late for the Duke of Sussex to confide in the Princess Royal, and to lean on her to help mend the relationship between Harry and King Charles, given his 'extremely disloyal' actions towards the Firm. The insider allegedly said, as reported by the Sunday Times: "He [ Prince Harry ] really ought to talk to Princess Anne. She often talked about how, as children, she was treated so differently from Charles. She was second to him and kicked further down the line of succession as a woman, but she forged her own path. "In her twenties, she was bolshy and upset about a lot of things, but she came through that. He should talk to her about her experiences. She is shrewd. She could tell him a lot about what she went through." But as Jennie claims, the time for Anne to give Harry advice, both on how to navigate life as a 'spare' and how to fix his relationship with the royal family at large, has passed. Jennie exclusively told The Mirror: 'Yes Anne would have been the perfect person to offer advice and guidance, but sadly, this is no longer relevant as Harry has made it quite clear that he has no desire to return to life as a working royal. 'She could have told her nephew that 'playing second fiddle' is the wrong way to look at his status. Instead, as she has shown, the second born can be an invaluable support to the institution of monarchy, and a vital friend, confidant and wingman/woman to the monarch. 'She could have explained that they are a team, a firm, working together to keep the monarchy relevant and using their platform to help charities and communities.' Jennie also speculated that Anne may not want to get involved in rehashing the drama between Harry and Charles, and even questioned whether the Princess Royal knew the extent of the family rift. She said: 'It may be that the King has discussed his family troubles with Anne, but I rather doubt that she would want to get involved. To Anne, loyalty is paramount, and I suspect she feels that Harry has been extremely disloyal to his father, his brother and the monarchy. She might well find that hard to forgive.' Rumours of a royal reconciliation first emerged earlier this month when Harry's chief communications officer, and Liam Maguire, who runs Harry and Meghan's UK public relations team, met the King's communications secretary Tobyn Andreae at the Royal Over-Seas League at the private member's club is right by Clarence House - Charles' London residence. While it is not yet known who initiated the appointment, the meeting has been described by sources as informal, with casual drinks intended to open a channel of communication between both camps.

Mum leaves Butlins after ONE night after 'beds were wet' and daughter had 'poo on hands'
One mum took to TikTok to share her disappointment with the accommodation at the Skegness Butlin's holiday park, sharing clips of the filthy room - including a dead bug on her bed Butlin's has apologised after one family checked in to a "grimy" and "damp" room in need of "a massive deep clean". Mum Jasmine took to TikTok to share her disappointment with the accommodation at the Skegness holiday park, sharing clips of the filthy room with her 19,000 followers. "I could make a 10-minute video on all of the issues in here but here's some of them," she captioned the clip."Even walking up to the room I felt grimy. This is the Butlin's comfort room. This is my sign to not blindly book something hahaha." She went on to give a tour of the room - which they couldn't stand to sleep in for more than one night - showing dirt throughout, including in the shower and the bin. Brit's 'holiday from hell' as family given mouldy caravan 'with a giant hole in it' 'Friend wants me to pay £200 for bride's hen party - but I didn't go' In her voiceover, Jasmine said: "I was meant to book the apartment but I didn't realise. When I first walked in there and I saw there's only two rooms and one bathroom in the middle, I thought, 'Where's the rest of it?'. "I am going to emphasise that was not Butlin's fault at all though to be fair - it was my fault. So anyway I don't know if the videos can do it justice because the smell when I walked in there was just absolutely wild. "This isn't the cleaner's fault or anything like that - it's the turnover rate is the issue. These rooms need massive deep cleans because a quick once over is not going to help." "I didn't even want to shower in there - in fact, I didn't shower in there. I ended up going to the swimming pools to have a shower. "We spent one night in this room and the beds were so damp - my daughter even woke up asking why the bed was so wet. "I can't explain the smell. I know I keep saying it but it was horrific. The mould was over the windows, there were cobwebs up the walls... This was a dead bug on our bed and then our daughter got poo on her hand walking out and I was like 'nah, that's it, 100% I am going.' "The stuff kids can do here is amazing though - I will not fault Butlins for that. It is just a shame about the room." When The Mirror contacted Butlin's, a spokesperson for the holiday park said: 'We're sorry and disappointed to see the cleanliness issues the guest experienced with their accommodation. This certainly isn't the high standards we expect our guests to receive when they holiday with us. We carried out a full reclean and offered a gesture of goodwill which was accepted.' Others shared similar experiences in the comments, with one person writing: "This looks so much cleaner than our room [laughing emoji]." Another person said: "Skegness I had the most horrible room haven't ever gone back. It was a hot year window broke couldn't open it, bedding didn't get changed stuff left under the bed etc was horrible." However, another visitor insisted they had only ever had positive experiences at the holiday park, writing: "Which Butlin's is this?? We've always been to skeg one and never had a room like this. That's grim."
