While it's her first in Hollywood, Sooyoung is not new to acting. The K-pop idol long ago turned to on-screen roles and has played key parts in various K-dramas and movies, including Not Others, Fanletter, Please, If You Wish Upon Me, Move to Heaven, So I Married an Anti-Fan, Run On, and so on. The lead dancer and rapper of Girls' Generation made her debut in 2000 with SM Entertainment. For fans waiting for her new K-drama, she will first lead the soon-to-air tvN K-drama Second Shot at Love alongside Gong Myung, Jo Yoon Hee, Kang Hyung Suk, Kim Sung Ryung, and Kim Sang Ho. The K-drama is scheduled to premiere on May 12.
Len Wiseman's directorial Ballerina promises a blend of professional choreography and intense action that fans expect from the John Wick series. Other stars like Lance Reddick, Norman Reedus, and Ian McShane are also part of the cast. The character posters of the movie were released a while ago. The movie will also star Gabriel Byrne, who will step into the shoes of Chancellor, the spinoff's main antagonist, facing off with Ana de Armas' Eve. 'The opportunity to have my movie and actually just go for it, go crazy, it was a no-brainer,' Armas said, speaking to USA Today about her role in the movie. 'I knew I wanted to be a part of that world, and that specific tone of 'John Wick' was really cool.'
The Oscar-nominated star has time and again wowed her fans with actioners like Ghosted, The Gray Man, and the James Bond film No Time to Die. Keanu Reeves, Ana de Armas are teaming up for the third time after Exposed in 2016 and Knock Knock in 2015. During CinemaCon, Armas revealed how she first met Reeves, 'I met him when I barely spoke English when I moved to L.A. 10 years ago.' She recalled meeting the actor for the very first time in Santiago de Chile during a lunch with the filmmakers of Knock Knock. Armas was sitting across the table from him and was nervous. 'I couldn't talk to him much because I was so self-conscious about my English,' Ana recalled, adding, 'I was really struggling and really trying hard to follow the conversation,' she told The Hollywood Reporter.

TXT's Taehyun reveals abusive training days at the company that launched K-pop legends BTS: ‘We did get hit back then…'

The K-pop industry is no stranger to stories about how tough it can be for idols before they debut. Behind the glamour and global stardom lies a notoriously competitive system where young trainees are pushed to their limits. But over time, as K-pop has gone international and idols have found support in millions of fans worldwide, the industry has slowly started to leave behind some of its harsher, more conservative practices. TXT's Soobin and Taehyun Recently, TXT leader Soobin shed light on just how intense those trainee years were. In a now-viral clip from a Weverse livestream, he revealed that both he and his bandmate Taehyun were subjected to physical punishments while learning choreography. According to Soobin, this all happened when they were still kids. 'This was when me and Taehyun had just been dancing for a week or two we were both extremely young kids, 8th and 10th graders who couldn't even stretch our arms out properly…the seventeen hyungs do really hard choreographies, right? And they suddenly asked us to dance to this song and it's not even like the teacher taught us the choreography, they told us to learn it ourselves by watching the video so me and Taehyun watched the video at 0.5x to learn the choreography and it seemed reallllly tough, so it was a given that we wouldn't be able to dance well to it.' To which Soobin added, '(Sighs) Taehyun ended up saying it but we did get hit back then…we got hit while we learnt it…' The leader further admitted that some other trainees actually had it even worse than them. While the revelation was shocking for many fans, Soobin reassured them that the industry is no longer the same. 'They had physical punishments back then but if they physically punish someone now, they'd get in huge trouble,' he said. For MOAs (TXT's fandom), the livestream was a mix of emotions — heartbreaking to hear what their idols endured as middle schoolers, but also relieving to know the industry has made progress since then. 'This is actually so heartbreaking and I hope him and everyone else who endured this treatment have healed and are okay… that company can go to h3ll like,' was one comment under the post. One more comment said, 'I'm glad they talked about it, people need to realise what this industry is like. I'm glad they're not beating people up any more, but that doesn't mean they're not being treated harshly anymore :(.' Another concerned fan wrote, 'This is so upsetting how was this allowed???' TXT, short for Tomorrow X Together, is a five-member boy band under Big Hit Entertainment — the same label that launched global icons BTS. The lineup includes Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and HueningKai. They officially entered the K-pop scene in 2019, with their debut EP The Dream Chapter: Star, fronted by the energetic title track Crown.

Yoon Eun-hye hints at stress on SNS following Kim Jong-kook's wedding announcement

Kim Jong-kook and Yoon Eun-hye in a scene from the reality show that started the legendary rumor 17 years ago. Actress Yoon Eun-hye , acclaimed for her performances in popular Korean dramas and her pivotal role in the groundbreaking girl group Baby V.O.X, is capitalizing on current media waves to heighten excitement for a key event. On August 18, coinciding with major industry news, she uploaded a social media video captioned "Baby V.O.X concert practice!!! September is approaching so fast, it's making me nervous," displaying her active involvement in rehearsals that feature the group's classic energetic choreography and vocal synergy. Since their 1997 debut, Baby V.O.X has been celebrated for hits like 'Get Up', 'Coincidence', and 'Killer', which topped charts and shaped early K-pop. Rumors as a Promotional Catalyst The enduring rumors linking Yoon to singer Kim Jong-kook , stemming from their iconic on-screen dynamic on SBS's 'X-Man' over 17 years ago, have long been a staple in Korean entertainment lore, consistently generating media and fan scrutiny. Kim's wedding announcement on August 18 via his fan cafe-"I've always prepared for this day, but now I'm more nervous than imagined. I'm getting married."-has revived these discussions, providing an opportune moment for Yoon to channel the attention toward her own endeavors. While both have denied any real romance, with no evidence emerging even after 2022 speculations from her channel content, the timing of her posts suggests a savvy use of the spotlight to promote the Baby V.O.X concert. Turning Attention into Opportunity Ultimately, Yoon's handling of the situation transforms speculative interest into a promotional advantage, enhancing her visibility in K-entertainment as she prepares for the concert, demonstrating a calculated approach to career management amid ongoing public fascination.
