Heliot Ramos, Giants stun Rangers with wild walk-off 'Little League home run' after late errors
The San Francisco Giants pulled off a ridiculous "Little League home run" on Sunday afternoon that left the Texas Rangers — and just about everyone else watching the matchup in the Bay Area — absolutely stunned.
The Giants, thanks to a walk-off hit from Heliot Ramos, beat the Rangers 3-2 at Oracle Park after a wild final play. After a couple of bad errors by the Rangers, Ramos had his single turned into a game-winning "home run."
Ramos hit a dribbler back at Rangers closer Luke Jackson, though Jackson sailed the throw well past first base and up the right-field line after bare-handing the ball. So Ramos immediately kept going and made his way to third. First baseman Jake Burger, however, also missed the mark when he tried to throw Ramos out at third.
So Ramos took off for home and made it safely with plenty of time to spare. That sparked a massive celebration at the stadium. Ramos was even hit with a Gatorade dump behind home plate while he appeared to try to make sense of what he just pulled off. It was officially a hit, two errors and a run.

'Tell me you've seen that one before!' NBC Sports Bay Area announcer Duane Kuiper said.
'Well, not since my oldest son was 10 years old,' analyst Mike Krukow responded.
The hit was Ramos' second of the day. The 25-year-old holds a .234 batting average with 10 RBI and three home runs this season, his fourth with the franchise. The win pushed the Giants to 19-10 and gave them back-to-back wins over the Rangers after dropping the opening game of the series Friday.
While Ramos' hit shouldn't have been anywhere near good enough to push the Giants to the win — he was the first batter up in the inning, and it didn't even make it past the mound — the Rangers fell apart at the worst time. The loss is sure to sting for quite some time.

Jaxson Dart throws absolute dime for first Giants touchdown pass
Access the Giants like never before Get texts from Paul Schwartz with all the latest Giants news and insights, exclusive to Sports+ subscribers. tRY IT NOW BUFFALO – Jaxson Dart dropped his first NFL touchdown pass right into the bucket. The Giants' rookie first-round pick, making his preseason debut Saturday, put perfect leading touch on a 29-yard strike down the left sideline to Lil'Jordan Humphrey, who fought through tight one-on-one coverage for the score against the Bills. Perhaps the most impressive part of the touchdown, however, was that Dart hung in there to deliver the throw even as T.J. Sanders bared down with an up-the-middle pressure and drilled him just after he let the ball. Dart popped to his feet and excitedly slapped his offensive linemen to let the celebration begin. The touchdown capped a seven-play 80-yard drive in the second quarter that saw Dart complete three of his four passes, including catch-and-runs by Dante Miller (18 yards) and Montrell Washington (28 yards). Dart also ran twice — once by design and once when he held the ball too long, pump-faked and pulled it down for a one-yard scramble. It was Dart's second series, after the Giants gained one first down and punted in his first taste of action against the Bills' starting defense. Dart, who came in ahead of Jameis Winston off the bench to replace starter Russell Wilson, found a rhythm against Buffalo's backups.

NFL Fans React to Jaxson Dart's First Touchdown With NY Giants
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. It's just preseason, but New York Giants fans can't help but be excited for their rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, who threw his first touchdown pass in Saturday's game. During the second quarter of the matchup against the Buffalo Bills on the road, Dart threw a 28-yard pass to Lil'Jordan Humphrey for the first touchdown of the game for the Giants. They went up 10-7 over the Bills. via @BiasedNate: Stood in the pocket and delivered a DIME @Jake_Cage: WERE SO BACK @BiggestJohnStud: So that's what a real QB looks like? The Giants entered Saturday's first preseason game against the Bills with intentions of giving Dart plenty of opportunities to put his first couple of weeks of progression to the test. First, the team wanted to see what they had in their offseason acquisition, Russell Wilson. The former first-round pick landed the start for the Giants, which came as a shocking decision, since he's guaranteed to start during the regular season, and has been in the NFL since 2012. Wilson went 6-7, throwing for 28 yards. He set the Giants up for a field goal. When Dart came in, he crossed 100 yards within his first 10 passes. He was turnover-free during that stretch, and put the Giants ahead. More Bryan M. When he wrapped up his college career, Dart had 45 games under his belt. As a starter in 41 games, he achieved a 28-13 record. Dart left the NCAA with 11,970 yards, 81 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions. Back in the spring, the Giants traded back into the first round to select Dart with the 25th overall pick. He was added to a QB room, which includes notable veterans such as Wilson and Jameis Winston. Throughout his first season in the NFL, Dart is expected to remain in a backup role, learning from Wilson. Therefore, the preseason serves as an important stretch of games for Dart, who has plenty to learn at the NFL level. So far, he's off to a positive start. Dart enters the organization as the latest high-end pick at the QB position, following New York's former quarterback, Daniel Jones, who wrapped up his tenure with the team midway through the 2024 NFL season. Jones is now competing for a starting spot with the Indianapolis Colts. For more New York Giants and NFL news, head over to Newsweek Sports.

What channel is the Bills game on? How to watch Buffalo Bills vs New York Giants
ORCHARD PARK - Old friends Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen bring their New York Giants to Highmark Stadium Saturday to play the Buffalo Bills in the preseason opener for both teams. Unlike their counterparts in Buffalo, Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane, both of who are rock solid in their positions now into their ninth years, this is probably a make-or-break season for Daboll and Schoen in New York. Since Daboll and Schoen left Buffalo to become the coach and general manager of the Giants, respectively, Big Blue has a sorry record of 18-32-1. They made the playoffs in their first year at the helm in 2022 and won a wildcard game before getting routed by the Eagles, but then went 6-11 and 3-14 the last two seasons and have dealt with a constant cacophony regarding their future employment. There is renewed hope with the Giants roster, though, as Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and rookie first-round pick Jaxson Dart are competing to become the starting quarterback, while Malik Nabers is already a star receiver in his second season, and the defense should be vastly improved with the addition of 2025 No. 3 overall draft pick Abdul Carter. The biggest obstacle for the Giants is they play in the NFC East where the Eagles are defending Super Bowl champions, the Commanders reached last season's NFC Championship Game, and the Cowboys, while always overrated, are also always capable of being very good. McDermott said Thursday that Josh Allen will not play in the game - Mitch Trubisky will start - but the other starters might get about one quarter of action.
