Vijayawada will become Gateway of Amaravati, says Andhra MP Kesineni
Speaking on the occasion, Kesineni said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has extended his support for developing the city. 'Ever since the NDA government came into power, many developmental activities have been fast-paced. However, the previous YSRCP administration had halted all the works undertaken between 2014 and 2014,' the MP added.
Rammohan accused former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of not releasing a single paise for the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation's (VMC) exchequer during his five-year tenure. He added that the TDP-led NDA government had sanctioned Rs 300 crore in a phased manner for Vijayawada's development.
He revealed that the CM will sanction thousands of crores of rupees for the city's development. The MLA directed the officials to prepare a comprehensive Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the intended Vijayawada development, and informed that the DPR is being prepared by IIT Madras. He also reiterated that there is no scarcity of funds for the city's growth.

Mahabubnagar: Mahbubnagar MP DK Aruna toured CC Kunta village in Devarakadra constituency, where she laid the foundation stone for several development works on Saturday. With Rs 18 lakh from her MP funds, two community halls will be constructed, for which she performed the groundbreaking ceremony along with local BJP leaders. Prior to the programme, she offered special prayers at the Valmiki Temple and the Ganga Bhavani Temple. Speaking on the occasion, Aruna said, 'There will be no compromise on development. I am allocating Rs 65 lakh per constituency from my MP quota. Already, high-mast LED lights worth Rs 2.05 lakh have been installed in CC Kunta.' She appealed to the people to give BJP a chance in the upcoming local body elections. 'You have seen ten years of BRS rule, and now you are experiencing the deceptive Congress rule. If you elect BJP this time, I will change the face of CC Kunta and take full responsibility for its development.' Aruna highlighted the central government's schemes, pointing out that roads, Anganwadi centers, midday meals, streetlights, and crematoriums in villages are all funded by the Centre. She noted that ration rice, Mudra and Vishwakarma loans, PM Awas Yojana houses, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, fertilizer subsidies, and drones for farmers are all benefits being extended by the Modi government. On the issue of Boya Valmikis' inclusion in the ST list, Aruna said that she had already raised the demand in Parliament and discussed it with Union Ministers. Rajya Sabha MP Laxman also raised the issue. 'I will make every effort to ensure your long-cherished dream of being included in the ST list becomes a reality,' she assured.

Three Republican-led states said Saturday (August 16, 2025) that they were deploying hundreds of National Guard members to the nation's capital to bolster the Trump administration's effort to overhaul policing in Washington through a federal crackdown on crime and homelessness. They have been patrolling at landmarks like the National Mall and Union Station and assisting law enforcement with tasks including crowd control. The Republican Governors of the three states said they were sending hundreds of troops at the request of the Trump administration. Delhi gets Rs 11,000 crore road push as PM Modi to inaugurate 2 highway projects today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Sunday inaugurate two major highway projects in Delhi, built at a combined cost of nearly Rs 11,000 crore. In Rohini, heavy vehicles will be stopped at Madhuban Chowk, Deepali Chowk, Jaipur Golden Hospital Crossing, Wazirpur Depot and multiple other have urged commuters to plan their journeys in advance and, where possible, use the Delhi Metro.- Ends
