Fred Armisen, 58, reveals what he learned from Wednesday costar Jenna Ortega while speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the season 2, Part One London world premiere
Armisen, who plays Uncle Fester in the hit Netflix show, says Ortega, 22, taught him to be more 'meticulous' as an actor
Wednesday season 2, Part One debuts on Aug. 6, followed by Part Two on Sept. 3Fred Armisen says he picked up an important lesson from his Wednesday costar Jenna Ortega while filming season 2 of the hit Netflix show.
Armisen, who plays Uncle Fester on the series, spoke to PEOPLE exclusively while attending the Wednesday season 2, Part One World Premiere in London on July 30. During the conversation at Central Hall Westminster, the SNL alum shares that Ortega, 22, inspired him to be more 'meticulous' and 'pay attention' as a scene partner.

"It's great watching Jenna, because she keeps track of the script in this way that she understands the logic of her character,' Armisen, 58, says.
He adds, 'It's not like she just shows up and it's like, 'I'm just gonna do this character.' She's like, 'Why does this moment count? So she's very meticulous, and it makes me want to be more like her. I'm like, 'No, I gotta [...] pay attention.' '
The comedian goes on to share one of his favorite behind-the-scenes moments while filming the upcoming season.
'There was a scene in the insane asylum, and it's raining and it really felt like 'Wow. I'm really on a TV show,' you know? This fake rain and lightning and stuff, and it, it just makes me feel like if I was a little kid watching myself, I'd be like, 'Wow, I'm really on a TV show.' '
Armisen isn't the only Wednesday actor to rave about Ortega's talent and work ethic. Season 2 star Steve Buscemi called the actress 'the best' while speaking exclusively to PEOPLE while attending the Family Dinner fundraising event hosted by Exploring the Arts in New York City in April.

'Oh, she's great,' Buscemi, 67, told PEOPLE at the time. 'She's just, she's so sharp and funny and down to earth. And just a wonderful actress, a wonderful scene partner. The best.'
Christina Ricci — who played Wednesday in the original Tim Burton Addams Family films, and who also appears in season 1 of Wednesday as Marilyn Thornhill — echoed the sentiment while speaking to Variety back in 2022.
'Jenna is incredible," Ricci, 45, said of Ortega. "I saw some of the wardrobe photos before I went [to set], so I knew [what she looked like in character] and I was like, it's such a great modern take on Wednesday."
The season 2 London premiere was a star-studded affair, with appearances by Ortega, Buscemi, Emma Myers, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Joy Sunday, Tim Burton and more.

'Peaky Blinders' Creator Reportedly Will Write Next James Bond Movie

Although the next James Bond movie will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, the actual script might be written by veteran British writer Steven Knight. And, if that name is familiar, it should be. Knight is not only the writer of movies like Dirty Pretty Things and Eastern Promises, but he's also the creator of the sensational crime drama, Peaky Blinders. Although not announced formally by Amazon MGM, Deadline has reported that "sources" are saying that "Steven Knight has been set to write the pic." If confirmed, this will almost certainly be good news for Bond fans. But, could Knight's resume give us a bigger hint as to what the movie is about? Steven Knight's movie and TV track record Until very recently, Knight was actually attached to write the next Star Wars film focused on Daisy Ridley's Rey, though, as someone who has been writing screenplays for several decades, the notion of changing projects is very common. But, in terms of Knight's biggest work, Peaky Blinders is probably the best indication of where he could take a James Bond film. At once violent, dramatic, and with a touch of elegance, Peaky Blinders arguably made Cillian Murphy into an even bigger star than he already was. And, the show also proved that British action-adventure and crime dramas don't always have to be set in the present. But, wait. What could that mean for Bond?Could the new James Bond be a period piece? Because of Knight's work on Peaky Blinders (and his work on the 2019 Christmas Carol), one might jump to the conclusion that the next Bond reboot film could be set in the past. In fact, the idea that the next James Bond reboot movie could be a period piece is a rumor that's been circulating for at least two years. Recently, Andor creator Tony Gilroy even mentioned that a historical Bond was something he and Steven Soderbergh attempted decades ago, and that he believed it was possible that the plan for the next Amazon-produced Bond was similar to he and Soderbergh 1960s throwback that never happened. "It sounds to me very much like what they're doing now," Gilory said. A James Bond movie set in the 1960s would be one thing, but perhaps the more interesting move here would be if Steven Knight went back to the actual beginning of James Bond: the 1950s. If Villeneuve and Knight are doing a direct adaptation of one Ian Fleming's novels, then a historical Bond movie set in, say, 1953, would be incredible. In fact, it would be the one thing that the franchise has never done, not once: A period-accurate adaptation of one of Fleming's original books. Could Knight and Villeneuve make it happen? If so, the next era for James Bond might be the realization of Fleming's dream, seven decades later.'Peaky Blinders' Creator Reportedly Will Write Next James Bond Movie first appeared on Men's Journal on Jul 31, 2025 Solve the daily Crossword

One Marvel Star Maybe Just Took Himself Out of the Running For James Bond and Nobody Noticed

Once Denis Villeneuve was named as the director for the next James Bond movie, rumors immediately started flying as to who he might want as the new 007. At the top of that list of possible actors was Tom Holland, best known to millions as the incumbent Peter Parker in the Spider-Man and Avengers films. But now, it's possible that Holland has quietly taken himself out of the running for Bond. Here's why. Will Tom Holland be the next James Bond? While it's possible that Holland could still be cast as James Bond, his commitments to other projects, including various Marvel films, might prevent that from happening. In fact, in a new interview with the U.K. edition of GQ, published on August 1, 2025, Holland indicated he will be taking a break from acting sometime in 2027. "You can't be in every movie, and you can't do your best work when you're burnt out," Holland said in the interview, referring to the idea that he wants to avoid burnout. "I've got a slightly busy year next year, and then I'll probably take a bit more time off in 2027. We'll see." The busy year next year almost certainly refers to the fact that Holland will be promoting Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which hits theaters a year from now, on July 31, 2026. But, does that mean Holland won't be shooting a new film in 2026 or 2027?The Next James Bond Movie's Possible Release Date As of this writing, Amazon MGM has not nailed down an exact release window for the next James Bond movie. But 2027 is possible. Assuming the film was cast by the end of 2025, and went into production sometime in 2026, that means a release date of anytime in 2027 is reasonable. At least hypothetically. So, if Tom Holland is taking "time off" in 2027, that seems to suggest he's not going to play James Bond. Unless, of course, the movie is done by that point, which would mean he could maybe still be in the running. Still, with so many other actors' names being floated for the role, it seems more likely that Holland won't become both Bond and Peter Parker within the same couple of years. And, until there's a big bombshell dropped by Amazon, the next face of 007 will remain in the Marvel Star Maybe Just Took Himself Out of the Running For James Bond and Nobody Noticed first appeared on Men's Journal on Aug 1, 2025 Solve the daily Crossword

Birmingham tributes to Ozzy Osbourne will be taken down and given to his family

Tributes left for Ozzy Osbourne in his home city of Birmingham are to be taken down and given to the late star's family. Birmingham City Council has started the process of removing thousands of tributes in honour of the Black Sabbath rocker following his death last month at the age of 76. Fans had flocked to the city to pay their respects to Ozzy as flowers, keepsake items and handwritten notes were left at Black Sabbath Bridge - a spot that marks the Paranoid band's formation. The council says that the tributes will be preserved at a secure location before being passed on to Ozzy's loved ones. It stated: "In due course, they will be passed on the Osbourne family, so they may keep them as a lasting reminder of the public's affection and support." A concert ticket from 1995 featured among the tributes, which also included artwork and beer cans. Kate Brazier, head of city centre events at the council, said: "We've found all sorts - artwork, cans of beer and candles. We've found a box of tea with a message that says, 'Just in case you can't find a cuppa in heaven.' "But for me, the one that stands out the most is (the concert ticket) that someone's left a message on. It probably meant a lot to someone at one point in their life." Ozzy's family viewed the tributes during his funeral procession in the city last week and said they were "deeply moved" by the affection the public had for the Prince of Darkness - who had played his final gig with Black Sabbath at Birmingham's Villa Park stadium just 17 days prior to his death. A statement read: "We are deeply moved by the heartfelt tributes that have been placed at the Black Sabbath Bridge and at the Black Sabbath mural on Navigation Street in recent days. "These expressions of remembrance reflect the profound impact that Ozzy had on the city and its people, as well as fans from around the world - BIRMINGHAM FOREVER!" Lord Mayor of Birmingham Zafar Iqbal said: "We understand how important it is for the community to have a space to grieve and celebrate Ozzy's legacy. "We know fans will continue to pay their respects at the Black Sabbath Bridge and the mural on Navigation Street, as well as visiting the Ozzy exhibition."
