Why Khloé Kardashian became primary caretaker for Tristan Thompson's brother
In the July 30 episode of her 'Khloé in Wonder Land' podcast, the 41-year-old reality TV star fielded questions from her fans when she was asked about Tristan Thompson's 18-year-old brother, Amari.
Amari, who has LGS (Lennox-Gastaut syndrome), was being cared for by his mother, Andrea, until 2023 when she died of a heart attack, per People. She was 53.
According to the Epilepsy Foundation, LGS 'is a type of epilepsy with multiple different types of seizures, particularly tonic (stiffening) and atonic (drop) seizures.'
On her July 30 podcast, Kardashian clarified that Amari is unable to walk and has never been able to talk.
'Tristan is in the NBA, and he is in a different state literally every other day or every few days, and it's just not conducive for Amari to be on that many planes,' she explained.
'Amari has a handful of seizures a day with the type of epilepsy that he has,' she added.
According to People, Kardashian is now Amari's primary caretaker, while Thompson is his legal guardian.
'So Amari stays in L.A. with me, and I have chosen to take care of him and be there for him, because it's not good that he travels,' she continued.
Kardashian clarified that she has two 'sensational caretakers' that help her care for Amari at home.
'We just want to provide Amari with the best, most beautiful life that we know how. And he deserves that,' she added of her decision to step in and help.
In an April episode of 'The Kardashians,' Kardashian opened up about how Amari 'has never and will never be a burden,' per Page Six.
She echoed that statement in her July 30 podcast and revealed how having Amari as part of her family is beneficial to everyone — including her two kids that she shares with Thompson.
'Amari deserves someone who will be there for him, take care of him, provide a great lifestyle for him and so Amari deserves my love and care, regardless of where me and Tristan stand,' she explained.
As for her younger kids, Kardashian says it's 'so important' to expose them to 'all different types of people.'
'I think it teaches everyone compassion, understanding. It opens up their minds to seeing, wow, Amari is disabled, sure, but he's also just like us at the same time,' she said.
'And I love seeing how Amari lights up when he's around the kids,' she added.
Though Amari can't talk, Kardashian said he does express himself around those he's familiar with.
'You see the glimmer in his eyes. And he's just such an amazing, amazing young man. And I'm so proud and honored that I have Amari in my life,' she continued.
Kardashian and Thompson, who were together on-and-off from 2016 to 2022, share two children — daughter True, 7, and son Tatum, 3 — together, according to People.

Thayne Jasperson hasn't always been the 'stick-around' type. 'I did Newsies for a year, Matilda for a year, Finding Neverland for six months and the West Side Story tour for a year,' the 45-year-old actor, singer and dancer tells PEOPLE. 'I was the year guy.' That all changed when Jasperson joined the early workshops for a new Off-Broadway musical about founding father Alexander Hamilton. The show would soon become Hamilton, the cultural phenomenon still in performances at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre. "I knew Hamilton was going to be epic, so I knew I had to be part of it," Jasperson recalls of joining the ensemble and portraying the scene-stealing loyalist, Bishop Samuel Seabury. So why did he make it past a year? 'I couldn't leave before the Tonys, then it was the Grammys, then we were filming it [for Disney+], now we have all of these people coming..." he says. "I just couldn't leave." "Did I know Obama or Beyoncé would show up to the show? No,' he adds with a laugh. 'But it's become this huge, epic thing that's kept me tied in. I always tell Lin [Manuel Miranda], 'You wrote too good of a show… I can't leave.' " Miranda affectionately calls Jasperson 'the ghost of the Richard Rodgers,' and for good reason. Some of the performer's fondest memories live in the walls, staircases and, of course, the stage of the theater. 'I remember our Eliza [Phillipa Soo] and I used to run up and down the stairs singing, 'I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love with a wonderful guy,' just because,' he says. 'There was a group of us — me, [James] Madison [Okieriete Onaodowan] and two of the other ensemble boys — who all had longboards and would just skateboard through the streets downtown. I mean, there were a million amazing memories.' But with time came change, and not all of it was easy. 'The first change that was actually a hard one for me was when Hamilton became a bigger thing,' he admits. 'At first, we were this singular story; nobody else knew the words, no information, no video and I loved it when it was like that. Then it became this huge thing with casts around the country, and I had a hard time with that. But what's beautiful is that the story is so relatable.' Ten years later, Hamilton remains one of Broadway's most beloved shows, and Jasperson believes its staying power lies in how universal the material is. 'I think it's just the relatability mixed with truth,' he tells PEOPLE. 'It makes people proud of the country that was formed. They still have pride in what we've been able to do with the separation from the UK… That relatability keeps people coming back.' With a decades-worth of performance experience behind him, Jasperson says Hamilton taught him one of life's most powerful lessons: having faith in yourself. 'Hope in yourself is important,' he says. 'When I moved here with a one-way ticket, I stood in Times Square, set my suitcase down and my spirit was like, 'This is where you're meant to be. This is it. I had started my destination on Broadway, and I was gonna do it.' What's next for Jasperson? The future is unwritten, he says, and that's exactly how he likes it. 'You're gonna be wheeling me out in a wheelchair. I'm gonna be 82, and they'll be like, 'Get off the stage!'' he jokes. 'So what's next is more of this. I don't have a plan. I'm trying to be spontaneous and live in the moment. When something feels right, I move with it. This is where I'm meant to be. NBA great Dennis Rodman, others gather to celebrate the life of Hulk Hogan after private funeral service
Friends and family gathered at Hogan's Hangout in Florida on Tuesday evening to celebrate the life and legacy of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, who was laid to rest in a private funeral service earlier in the day. A funeral service for Hogan was held at Indian Rocks Church in Largo on Tuesday, where he was baptized in 2023. The service was intimate and attended only by close friends and family. WWE icons like Paul "Triple H" Levesque and WWE former co-CEO Stephanie McMahon were among those who attended the service. Other celebrities, including Kid Rock and Bam Marger, were seen. Fox News Digital captured the funeral procession following the service. But the celebrations surrounding Hogan's life continued that evening, when more people – including fans – showed up at the wrestler's restaurant in Clearwater. Hogan's lawyer, Henry Holmes and sports agent and County Commissioner Joe Mullins were just some of the many that were spotted at the restaurant. Actor Chuck Zito and Hogan's son, Nick Hogan, and Hogan's wife, Sky Daily, were also seen in the crowd. Five-time NBA champion Dennis Rodman was also in attendance. He appeared in the ring alongside Hogan in the New World Order (nWo), a professional wrestling group led by Hogan in the mid-to-late 90s. Rodman posted a tribute to Hogan following the news of his passing last month, and shared a photo of their wrestling days together. "N.W.O. 4 Life Brother," Rodman wrote in an Instagram caption. Notably absent from Tuesday's funeral services and celebrations was Hogan's daughter, Brooke Hogan. And although I know people grieve in many ways - and I'm so grateful for all celebrations and events organized to honor him, as his daughter, I had to make my own decision to honor him the best and most genuine way I knew way that made me feel the closest to him. He was 71.
