Madras Matinee follows the lives of an aging writer who is pushed by his caretaker to create a narrative about the common man instead of fiction. While unwillingly agreeing, the author tells the story of an auto driver and garbage collector from a lower-middle-class household. Although the author plainly states that such people's lives are typically uninteresting and mundane, he finds a man named Kannan as an exception.
Kannan and his wife Shelly are depicted throughout the film as hard-working individuals who go above and beyond to provide a good life for their family. They have various goals for their children, who want to be financially independent. Kannan and his family take the stage to highlight the difficult realities of people's lives, which are far from polished and perfect.
The film features Kaali Venkat, Roshini Haripriya, Shelly Kishore, Sathyaraj, Vishva, George Maryan, Sunil Sukhada, and others. Appreciating the film , Coolie director Lokesh Kanagaraj said, 'I watched the film and really liked it so much. Everyone has performed well. I have liked all of Kaali Venkat anna's films, and only through Coolie, I was able to get a chance to work with him. He had performed really well, along with Sathyaraj sir and others. Anyone with a middle-class upbringing would be able to connect with the film. Especially the last shot, and a few other moments connect with us," as quoted by Times Now.
Karthikeyan Mani wrote and directed Madras Matinee, which is produced by Dream Warrior Productions. KC Balasarangan composed the film's musical score.

What did Ayan Mukerji say? The makers held a pre-release event for the movie in Hyderabad on August 10, where Ayan Mukerji spoke about Jr NTR. Ayan said, 'We are smart enough not to make a movie where he comes in only at the interval point. That much sense we have. But I can assure you that Jr NTR's entry sequence is one of the major highlights of the film, and you have to watch War 2 and discover that on your own.' More about War 2 War 2 is the sixth installment in Yash Raj Films' Spy Universe and a sequel to the 2019 hit War. The production of War 2 involved shooting across various international locations, including Spain, Italy, Abu Dhabi, Japan, Russia, and India.
