'Prabhas' The RajaSaab Will Cross Rs 1000 Crore', Director Expresses Confidence
Last Updated: The RajaSaab has been shot in India's largest horror-fantasy set ever created. Apart from Prabhas, the film also features Sanjay Dutt, Nidhhi Agerwal and Malavika Mohanan. Director Maruthi, whose upcoming magnum opus 'The RajaSaab' featuring pan Indian star Prabhas in the lead, has expressed confidence that his film's collections will breach the Rs 1000 crore mark when the horror-fantasy entertainer hits screens on December 5 this year. Director Maruthi, who turned up for an interaction with mediapersons who had assembled in Hyderabad from all across the country for a mega teaser launch of the film, was asked if The RajaSaab would break the collection records of Prabhas's earlier films 'Baahubali' and 'Kalki', which made well over a 1000 crores each. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Prabhas (@actorprabhas) Replying to another question on whether Prabhas plays two characters in the film, Maruthi clarified that Prabhas played just one character in the film. The movie is already breaking records even before its release. The RajaSaab has been shot in India's largest horror-fantasy set ever created. A towering, haunted mansion steeped in secrets and ominous silence has been erected for the film. In the teaser, which was recently released, Prabhas appears in two striking looks — one brimming with irresistible swag, boundless energy, and screen-dominating charm, and another that hints at darker, mystical undertones. Apart from Prabhas, the film also features Sanjay Dutt, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar — each adding layers of mystery to the cursed mansion's tale. Produced by People Media Factory and directed by Maruthi, 'The RajaSaab' is slated to release on December 5 this year in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam as a pan-Indian entertainer. Aamir Khan rejects Rs 120 crore OTT deal for Sitaare Zameen Par; stands firm on 9 am FDFS, fair ticket rates: ‘No blockbuster pricing'
Despite not being a big-ticket, action-oriented star vehicle typical of this era, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par is generating massive hype. Helmed by RS Prasanna, known for the Tamil romantic comedy Kalyana Samayal Saadham (2013) and its Hindi remake Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017), the sports comedy-drama is billed as a spiritual successor to Aamir's directorial debut Taare Zameen Par (2007). Interestingly, social media is abuzz with expectations that the film will offer a breath of fresh air amidst the current flood of mindless actioners. With the movie's release just around the corner, Aamir Khan, who also serves as the film's co-producer, has made some bold decisions regarding its theatrical and OTT premieres, including its first-day-first-show (FDFS) timing. In a significant and gutsy move, the actor-producer has reportedly turned down a massive offer from a major OTT platform, choosing instead to give the movie a full theatrical run without rushing a digital premiere. Also Read | Boman Irani recalls Sunil Dutt's precious life lesson that he follows till date: 'On Munna Bhai sets, he asked why would I eat alone' According to trade analyst Komal Nahta, Amazon Prime Video offered Rs 120 crore for the digital rights to the film, but Aamir declined the deal. While many might assume this was a tactic to attract higher offers from other platforms, Nahta clarified in Film Information that Aamir made the decision 'to try and change the game'. In recent times, Aamir has frequently voiced concerns about the standard eight-week window between theatrical and digital releases, calling it a 'faulty business model'. With this, the Bollywood biggie has once again proven that he isn't one of those 'all talk and no action' stars and that he has decided to lead by example and be the change he wishes to witness around him. Nahta pointed out that if Aamir's strategy works and the film's absence of an OTT release drives up box office revenue, it could be a revelation for the industry. On the flip side, if the strategy backfires, Sitaare Zameen Par could end up losing Rs 120 crore in easy revenue. Meanwhile, ahead of the film's release on June 20 (Friday), Aamir has also issued a series of instructions to exhibitors regarding show timings. According to Bollywood Hungama, the makers have requested not to begin shows before 9 am. They've also asked theatres to maintain popular weekend pricing, rather than inflating ticket rates as per the blockbuster pricing technique. While single-screen theatres wishing to screen Sitaare Zameen Par have been instructed to dedicate all shows exclusively to the film, without alternating titles, cinema halls with two screens have been asked to allot a total of eight shows per day for the sports comedy drama. 'Multiplexes with 3, 4, 5 and 6 screens need to play 11, 14, 16 and 19 shows a day, respectively. For 7-screen multiplexes, 22 shows are a must while for 8-screen plexes, 25 shows are mandatory in a day. There should be 28 shows in 9-screen cinemas and for multiplexes with 10 screens and more, the requirement is 31 shows,' Bollywood Hungama quoted a source as saying.

This superstar's first Pan-India film to feature a set worth Rs 50 crores, costing more than RRR and Ramayana
Most Indian films rely on visual effects (VFX) rather than the usual norm of creating massive sets. While this may be true, some filmmakers still create elaborate sets to achieve authenticity. However, do you know about the largest set being built for an Indian movie? Superstar Mahesh Babu and director SS Rajamouli are joining hands for the first time with the tentatively titled SSMB29. The magnum opus, touted as one of the most expensive ventures ever made in India, will feature a grand film set worth Rs 50 crore. According to reports, the makers of the upcoming adventure film have recreated the entire city of Kashi in Hyderabad. Being set partly in Varanasi, the makers have crafted the ghats and temples in the city owing to the logistical constraints of shooting on location. In a leaked image from social media, the set could be seen being erected in Hyderabad. See the massive set for SSMB29 Recently, Prabhas starrer The Raja Saab created a massive set, which is the biggest indoor set in the world. As the film set is said to span 38,000 square feet, the makers required six months to create it, although the cost remains unknown. The upcoming horror comedy film, directed by Maruthi, features the story of a young man trying to flip an ancestral home in hopes of swindling money. With the Rebel Star in the lead, the movie has Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Sanjay Dutt, and many more in key roles. Talking about the Mahesh Babu starrer, SSMB29 is reportedly being made on a massive budget, making it one of the largest productions in Indian cinema. We at Pinkvilla had exclusively reported that the film would be a single release, as opposed to the initial idea of a two-part cinematic venture. The film is expected to continue shooting until 2026 and be released in 2027. With Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran playing key roles, the film has yet to confirm its complete cast.
