Tiktokers who think they are funny are pranking London commuters with fake Apple Pay payments, but victims are quite literally fighting back.
The viral trend sees Tiktokers play the Apple Pay 'ding' sound next to a stranger's phone, saying 'thank you' and walking away.
This leaves the victim of the prank thinking they have had money taken from them.
One influencer, F Boogie, walked up to a tourist on the River Thames and pretended to take £1,000 from them.
But the tourist, enraged at the thought he had so much money taken from him, physically restrained the Tiktoker.
A plainclothed police officer then arrived at the scene, and handcuffed F Boogie who shouts: 'Oh my hand bruv, my hand, you've f***ed up my hand.'
The prank does not cause any financial or physical harm, but it can leave victim's distressed and confused.
Users who are choosing to pull the prank on someone, pretend to make a contactless payment with their phone against someone else's.
The prank is complete with the classic Apple Pay 'ding' and a a graphic on the user's phone signifying payment has been complete.
Pranksters tend to say 'thank you' at the end to really ham home the act and get a reaction out of their victim.
Some commenters beneath the videos have said it is cruel, and is only being done for Tiktok hits.
Londoners will be pleased to know that money can never be taken from them from someone else's phone.
Apple Pay requires authorization and a payment terminal.
So phones are unable to transfer funds just by touching.

When the police show up with a warrant, Tracy thinks she's done for when they find the mobile tucked away. Tommy Robinson kicked out of London restaurant because ‘staff didn't want to serve him'

Tommy Robinson's entourage is upset after being kicked out of a restaurant for making staff 'feel uncomfortable'. The right wing activist – real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon – was out eating at the Hawksmoor restaurant near Regent Street, central London, before staff realised who he was. Footage taken by EDL member Guramit Singh Kalirai, who was dining with Robinson, shows the restaurant manager explaining 'staff felt uncomfortable'. Kalirai replied: 'Is it because of the colour of my skin?' The manager responded: 'No, no, no. We have a duty of care to our members of staff. We like to look after our people, as I'm sure you can understand. 'I'm very sorry. I hope it hasn't inconvenienced you.' The footage was posted to X, with Kalirai saying: 'Just been kicked out of Hawksmoor steak house for no reason. Literally just had our starters.' The manager could be seen handing Robinson a business card with the CEO of Hawksmoor's details on it 'if he has any questions', and told him the restaurant will cover the cost of the drinks. Metro has contacted the Hawksmoor for comment. On Thursday Robinson appeared at Westminster Magistrates where he denied two counts of harassment causing fear of violence in August 2024. Prosecutors said he harassed two news reporters, and sharing multiple posts about them on his social media. Robinson was released from prison last month after he was jailed for repeatedly lied about a Syrian refugee. But he had his sentence reduced, and was released from HMP Woodhill in Milton Keynes. check our news page.

Brit backpacker faces 20 years in jail for 'killing man in e-scooter crash'

A British backpacker faces up to 20 years in jail in Australia after being charged with killing a pedestrian in an e-scooter crash. Alicia Kemp, 24, is said to have spent six hours drinking before ploughing into the back of 51-year-old Thanh Phan on a footpath in Perth's central business district on May 3. Mr Phan died in hospital from brain injuries suffered in the collision. Kemp's passenger, a 26-year-old woman, suffered a fractured skull and broken nose when she was thrown from the scooter. Kemp was denied bail when she appeared in court in the city charged with dangerous driving occasioning bodily harm and dangerous driving occasioning death. Her application was refused after prosecutors told the magistrate the risk of her fleeing in the face of a 20-year maximum sentence was too great, the Sydney Morning Herald reports. Mr Phan's family paid tribute to a 'beloved husband, father of two, brother, and dear friend'. They also called for a review of e-scooter hire regulations 'to help prevent further serious incidents that put lives at risk'. Kemp had been out drinking with a friend from 2.30pm on the day of the crash, the court heard. After her friend was asked to leave for being too drunk, they were said to have walked along Murray Street and hired an e-scooter just before 8.30pm. More Trending Kemp's 'inexplicably dangerous' riding was caught on CCTV, the prosecutor said, with other pedestrians having to get out of their way to avoid being hit. She was travelling at up to 25kph at the time of the collision, hitting Mr Phan while he was waiting to cross the road, the court heard. Kemp is next due in court on July 15.
