Sarah Roberts: Home And Away star discusses divorce, sex scenes
Former Home And Away actor Sarah Roberts says shooting sex scenes on a TV set is in 'no way glamorous', as she confirms she has found love again after her high-profile divorce from ex-husband, James Stewart.
In a new interview with the Stellar podcast, Something To Talk About, Roberts discusses the role intimacy co-ordinators play in racy scenes – and how it's nothing like real sex.
As she unveils Make It Look Real (a documentary about the topic), Robert recalls one instance where 'there weren't any crazy sex scenes; they were more kissing scenes with an actor that I hadn't worked with before,' Roberts tells Something To Talk About, in a new episode out today.
'It was about, 'How are we going to film this kiss? Do you want to use tongue? Do you not want to use tongue? Where are you going to put your hands? Where should I put my hands?'

'There's absolutely nothing glamorous about shooting intimate sex scenes or kissing scenes in front of a massive crew,' she adds.
'My first kissing scene on Home And Away was with my now ex-husband [James Stewart, whom she married in 2019].
'No-one had walked us through what we were doing. It's hard. Having an intimacy co-ordinator just make it all so much cleaner; it takes the stress away.'

Meantime, after a turbulent period of her life – including the loss of her beloved brother in 2019 and her divorce from Stewart last year – Roberts has some happy news: she's found love again.
'I love two people now: I've finally found a love for myself, which I know now in retrospect I didn't have for so long,' Roberts told Something To Talk About.
'I am still finding myself, but I have beaten myself up for a long time because I stayed in something that wasn't healthy. But now I have found this love for myself – and also fallen in love with a man. I'm so in love.'
The actor and DJ also revealed she used to be a 'yes girl' with 'absolutely no boundaries.'
'Now that I'm 40, I look back on my life so far and it would have been great to have some boundaries and some respect for myself as well,' she said reflectively.
'I would sometimes bend over backwards so far that I would break my back and I got very sick for a moment in time.
'Now I feel very confident walking onto sets. I feel more confident in my day-to-day life as well in relationships. I know what I'll stand and what I won't stand for.'

In terms of her personal life, Roberts and Stewart met in 2017 on the set of Home and Away and married two years later. Stewart is now dating his co-star, Ada Nicodemou.
Speaking to Stellar, Roberts said it was difficult to navigate heartbreak and her marriage breakdown in the public eye.
'I imagine dealing with a divorce is hard enough,' she said. 'Dealing with it all in the spotlight – and then everything that came out in the media after – absolutely ripped my heart in a million little pieces,.'
Make It Look Real premieres at the 2025 Sydney Film Festival, June 4-15. For details, visit sff.org.au

Home And Away's Lynne McGranger reveals which storyline had the biggest impact on her as she leaves the show after 33 years
Long-running Home And Away character Irene Roberts — played by Gold Logie-winner Lynne McGranger — has seen it all. Arriving at Summer Bay as an abusive alcoholic in 1993, the classic Aussie battler has been through the ringer. Roberts has battled a stalker, dated a killer and accidentally shot a cop, to name a few of her high-octane storylines. Now, after 33 years, she will say goodbye in touching scenes which show her in decline as she comes to terms with a devastating Alzheimer's disease diagnosis. 'I love what Irene has been able to represent, the comfort she has been able to bring people,' McGranger told on Tuesday, just hours before her character's final scenes go to air. 'Irene does dumb stuff. She's quick to anger. Yet, she's also quick to forgive.' McGranger, who is on a career high after winning this year's Gold Logie, said she was proud of the Alzheimer's story arc, but equally proud of others. 'I would say when Irene had breast cancer, it was very moving,' McGranger said of the 2011 storyline. 'We were mirroring the storyline off one of my best friends who lives in York, her daughter Nicki was diagnosed with breast cancer at the same time. Sadly, she didn't make it. 'But it was very important to honour my friend and her daughter.' McGranger said she was also proud of a storyline dealing with child grooming. In the episodes which aired in 2019, teenager Bella, played by Courtney Miller, is attacked by much older Tommy, played by Adam Sollis. Irene arrives home just in time to save the frightened teenager. 'It was an issue that was everywhere in the press at the time,' McGranger said. 'Obviously with the way people are meeting on the interne, it was extremely important.' McGranger initially trained to become a teacher in the city of Wagga Wagga, in regional NSW, and says she caught the acting bug during those years. She famously won the Best Actress Award at the 1974 Wagga Wagga Drama Festival, an award she mentioned when accepting the Gold Logie. 'After I won the award, I thought, 'I'm really going to have a crack at this',' McGranger said of her decision to pursue an acting career. She appeared in TV series The Flying Doctors as Janet in 1989, in Skirts as Dot in 1990, and in the 1992 TV movie Street Angels as Joan. In 1993, she was offered the role of Irene. 'I was just given a three-month contract,' McGranger said, adding she left her partner Paul McWaters, who she has been with since 1984, back home in Melbourne at the time. 'Then they asked, 'Would you like to come back for a year?'. I was ecstatic. As a young person, I couldn't believe they were going to pay me to act.' Fast forward 33 years, it was bittersweet for McGranger as she watched her final scenes on Home And Away in a special viewing at Seven's Sydney headquarters alongside the cast and crew of the long-running series. 'It was lovely. The whole room was watching the show, myself included, and I have to say I did get a little bit teary and, hell, I was doing it!' she said. 'Even the hard-nosed lighting and sound guys, they were all a little bit teary. I thought that was a good indicator of how it would affect Australia and the people around the world who watch and love Home And Away.' As the episode airs on Tuesday, McGranger will be on her way to Tasmania as she tours her show The Grandparents Club. The actress said more theatre was in her future. 'I would like to go back to the UK, do some theatre,' McGranger said, hinting at her next career move. 'I'd love to do Shirley Valentine or play Shirl, the bartender, in Priscilla: Queen Of The Desert.' The star encouraged everyone to support the arts. 'Go and get involved. Go and watch shows, productions,' McGranger said. 'Be part of it.'

Sarah Jessica Parker claps back at And Just Like That hate-watchers after controversial series finale
Don't miss out on the headlines from TV. Followed categories will be added to My News. Sarah Jessica Parker is unbothered by viewers who love to hate-watch And Just Like That after the disastrous season finale aired. 'I don't think I have the constitution to have spent a lot of time thinking about that,' she told the New York Times in an interview published on Friday, per Page Six. 'We always worked incredibly hard to tell stories that were interesting or real. I guess I don't really care,' the Hocus Pocus actress, 60, added. 'And the reason I don't care is because it has been so enormously successful, and the connections it has made with audiences have been very meaningful.' The series wrapped up for good recently. Picture: Marc Piasecki/WireImage The finale sparked a very mixed reaction from fans. Picture: Supplied Sex and the City debuted in 1998 on HBO and starred Parker (as Carrie Bradshaw), Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones), Kristin Davis (Charlotte York) and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) as best friends navigating relationships in New York City. The HBO show's reboot, And Just Like That, premiered in 2023 and featured all of the original cast except Cattrall. Though it became the network's most-watched series debut upon release, viewership quickly declined due to the outdated themes and empty attempts to remain culturally relevant. Two weeks before the season three finale, HBO announced the series was ending and would not return for a fourth chapter. After the final episode titled 'Party of One' aired last week, it was met with wide criticism over the storyline of Bradshaw exiting the show as a single woman. Parker has defended the final episodes. Bethenny Frankel blasted the Sex and the City revival series, labelling it the 'worst show ever' in an 'unfiltered' rant posted on Instagram on Friday. 'This is the worst show ever. Honestly, this is 'from hero to zero'. It's just so forced,' the former Real Housewives of New York City star told her followers in a clip. Frankel, 54, also wrote across the video, 'And just like that SUCKS.' '25 pounds of disaster in a 5-pound bag — and yep, it explodes,' she captioned the post, referring to the series finale that featured a clogged toilet. The Bethenny Ever After alum also criticised the show's fashion and characters. 'Everybody's just a weird caricature of themselves and it's just the most bizarre, forced show,' Frankels said, adding that she also took issue with the show's 'woke' storylines. 'Put it in the back and shoot it. Put it to rest,' she concluded. This article originally appeared in Page Six and was reproduced with permission. Live review: Kita Alexander leaves her mark on Perth with intimate set
Don't miss out on the headlines from Music Tours. Followed categories will be added to My News. Research emerged last year that found that streaming platforms with their algorithmic recommendations have created a monoculture dominated by US and UK artists, leaving very little room for homegrown talent to truly flourish. As so many artists are getting lost in the mix, now and again someone with such discernible talent comes along that they just can't be ignored; and that's Kita Alexander. She's been kicking around for a decade now, working hard to cement her position as an indie darling in Australia and capturing the attention of US pop star Madison Beer and UK pop diva Dua Lipa, who both asked her to support them on tour. 'Legislate it': Artists have come ... more Now 29, Alexander, who's married to Australian professional surfer Owen Wright, has experienced some chart success throughout her career, with her single Hotel going 2x Platinum after its release back in 2017. What struck me most about Alexander was the warmth that emanated from her the moment she stepped out onstage. As someone who beforehand knew only of Alexander's album track I Just Killed A Man – which is genuinely one of the most meticulously crafted break-up songs I've ever had the pleasure of hearing – I wasn't entirely convinced how easily she would be able to win me over with a relatively short set of 15 or so tracks. But any doubts immediately melted away from the moment she sung her first note. Sometimes you meet someone and are inexplicably drawn to them and their energy, and Alexander has that in spades. Kita Alexander. Picture Lachie Millard Her voice sounds like a blend of the pop rock sensibilities of Olivia Rodrigo paired with the warmth and smokiness of a 1920s jazz club singer, and some of the nuances in her delivery that she brought to songs depending on what genre they leaned into brought them to life so wonderfully. Communication was a clear standout for me, a gorgeous slice of glittering break-up pop that would feel at home on Taylor Swift's Midnight's record. Her cover of Djo's modern classic End of Beginning was so enrapturing that my partner turned to me and was convinced it was her own original song. The last handful of songs was banger after banger, kicking the set into a higher gear and with the small but loyal crowd in the palm of her hand singing back lyrics. Alexander would occasionally take a moment to have a giggle with the crowd and let her personality shine through, but there was one moment where she spoke earnestly of having children at a relatively young age that I really connected with, and it's those times when an artist really gives you an unedited glimpse into the lives that truly helps you form a better understanding and appreciation for their discography. It seems clear to me that with a team and a label behind her that believes in her talent, Alexander is one breakout hit away from becoming a powerhouse within the music industry Down Under, and I don't think it could happen to a more deserving woman. Now go and listen to I Just Killed A Man and give Alexander the streams she deserves! Originally published as Kita Alexander leaves her mark on Perth with intimate set
