In honor of Happy Gilmore 2, watch these 5 Adam Sandler movies on Netflix

There are few actors more universally beloved than Adam Sandler. Over decades, he's built up a reputation as a fun-loving family man who, when called upon, can deliver pretty serious performances.
The Sandman has also built a pretty productive relationship with Netflix, and while not everything he's done with them has been great, he's made his share of gems. Adam Sandler is a deeply lovable performer, and in light of Happy Gilmore 2's upcoming release, here are his five best Netflix movies.
Hustle (2022)
If you know three things about Adam Sandler, one of them is likely to be that he loves basketball. He's made more than one movie about it, but Hustle is his most pointed movie on the subject. Sandler plays a scout on thin ice with the Philadelphia 76ers who finds a European player with NBA potential.

As he works with his potential star recruit to make him great, he struggles with ownership and his place inside the organization. A movie littered with cameos from NBA legends, Hustle is a wildly entertaining sports movie thanks chiefly to Sandler's performance.
You can watch Hustle on Netflix.
You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah (2023)
A movie more about his daughters than Sandler himself, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah stars Sunny Sandler as one half of a teenage friendship that frays as the two of them plan each of their bat mitzvahs.
Although a light comedy, the movie transforms into a remarkable depiction of two young Jewish girls struggling with growing up. It's a lovely comedy, and one that suggests that both of Sandler's daughters might have a future in acting, all while Sandler plays the kind, supportive, funny father.
You can watch You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah on Netflix.
The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) (2017)
Noah Baumbach's partnership with Netflix has produced some fascinating movies, but none is more underseen than The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected). The film follows three siblings who are estranged from each other and from their father as they come together in New York City to celebrate their father's work as an artist.
Sandler plays one of the siblings. Although his performance is more subdued than usual, it's a perfect match for Baumbach's writing and the world of turmoil he creates.
You can watch The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) on Netflix.
Hubie Halloween (2020)
Look, Sandler has proven time and time again that he knows how to be a serious actor. Sometimes, Sandler should just be silly, and Hubie Halloween afforded him the opportunity to do exactly that.
The film follows a character named Hubie as he finds himself in the middle of a real murder investigation, even as he continues to be the object of derision from his fellow townsfolk. Although Hubie Halloween is fundamentally deeply dumb, it's also a pretty sweet movie, and that's what ultimately redeems it.
You can watch Hubie Halloween on Netflix.
Murder Mystery (2019)
Alongside Jennifer Aniston, Sandler stars as a married man on a yacht vacation who finds himself implicated in the murder of a hugely wealthy man. As he and his wife use their sleuthing skills to get to the bottom of the mystery, various hijinks ensue.
If what you're interested in is a chance to see Aniston and Sandler bounce off each other, then Murder Mystery will go down really smoothly for you.
You can watch Murder Mystery on Netflix.

San Diego Comic-Con attendee taken away in ambulance after suffering medical emergency

A convention staff member told EW that someone suffered an emergency near the escalators at the entrance to the San Diego Convention Center. A 2025 Comic-Con attendee was taken away in an ambulance after suffering a medical emergency inside the San Diego Convention Center on Saturday. An Entertainment Weekly reporter at the scene was informed by a convention staff member that 'someone' suffered an emergency near the escalators at the convention entrance, but would not disclose any additional information about what occurred or their condition. The individual was subsequently taken away on a stretcher and loaded into the ambulance, which left the scene just after noon PT. Video footage from the event taken by EW shows a growing crowd surrounding the convention center entrance, with the ambulance parked out front. As a result, entrance to the convention center was briefly paused on Saturday in order to allow emergency services to pull up to the front of the building and aid the individual. Attendees were allowed to enter the convention shortly after the ambulance departed. The incident comes just one day after a confusing fire alarm announcement rang out near Hall H and Ballroom 20, despite no alarm actually being heard. Security notified attendees during a Dexter: Resurrection panel to 'remain calm' and await further instructions. "I'm not calm," moderator Jamie Chung said, to which star Michael C. Hall replied, "Thank God Dexter's with us." Outside of general confusion from the crowd — and a brief delay from one Hall H panel to the next — the fire alarm did not cause any major disruption on Friday. Check out more of . Sculpture inspired by Jane Goodall Barbie doll to be unveiled to public

A sculpture inspired by Mattel's Barbie doll of Dame Jane Goodall and made entirely from recycled ocean plastic will be unveiled to the public in central London. The work by Slovakian-Bulgarian artist Daniela Raytchev called All Of Me will be displayed on board the tall ship Oosterschelde moored at Tower Bridge Quay on Monday. The event is part of a series of celebrations marking the return to the UK of the Darwin200 Global Voyage – a two-year international conservation expedition inspired by Charles Darwin's journey aboard HMS Beagle in the 1830s. The sculpture, made entirely from recycled ocean plastic collected by the expedition along the coastlines of Brazil and Uruguay, is based on Mattel's Barbie doll of Dame Jane, released in 2022 as part of its Inspiring Women Doll collection. Dame Jane is a renowned primatologist and widely considered the world's foremost expert on chimpanzees. She said: 'Daniela's sculpture puts the spotlight on the plastic crisis and highlights the importance of working together towards a better future for all.' Ms Raytchev said: 'I created this piece to show how working in harmony with nature can turn waste into a message of hope.' The Duke of Edinburgh visited the Dutch three-masted schooner on Friday – a day after its return to London – to recognise Darwin200's role in promoting environmental conservation around the world, and viewed the sculpture. Proceeds from the sale of the artwork will raise money for Darwin200 and Dame Jane's Roots & Shoots UK project, an environmental and humanitarian education programme for young people. Every year, more than 11 million tonnes of plastic enter the world's oceans – equivalent to one rubbish truck every minute, a spokesperson for the Darwin200 project said. The toy industry is 90% plastic-based and uses approximately 40 tonnes of plastic for every one million US dollars (£745,000) of revenue. In 2023, the global toy market reached 108.7 billion US dollars (£81 billion) in sales. According to the United Nations, if current trends continue there could be more plastic than fish by weight in the ocean by 2050. Members of the public will be invited aboard the historic tall ship between 10am and 1pm and between 2pm and 5.30pm on Monday. A panel discussing topics of creativity, scientific innovation, and environmental action will also take place at 3pm, with panellists including geologist and founder of Darwin200 Stewart McPherson, American actress and activist Rose McGowan, and Princess Katarina of Yugoslavia.

Matthew Lawrence Proposed Using AI To Bring Back Robin Williams

AI is used for lots of purposes these days — and if he could, Matthew Lawrence would "love" to use it to resurrect his Mrs. Doubtfire co-star Robin Williams. Related: Matthew made the revelation in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. He said he thinks Robin's "voice is just so iconic" and that using AI could provide a way to "do something really special" with it. He said, "I would love — now, obviously, with the respect and with the okay from his family — but I would love to do something really special with his voice because I know for a generation, that voice is just so iconic." He insisted he's not the only one who thinks so, either. "It's in everybody's head," he shared. "And it would be so cool." Related: Apparently, Matthew got the idea from one of Robin's old commercials before the actor's 2014 death, which saw him speaking in a "computerized voiceover." "And it always stuck with me," Matthew shared. "And then, during his passing, with the AI coming out, I'm like, 'Man, he's gotta be the voice of A.I. He's gotta be the voice in something.' So yeah, I would love to do that." Related: "Fuck no," one reader tweeted in response. "This feels incredibly disrespectful." "I doubt his family wants that," another said. "And no AI can replicate Robin Williams." "Absolutely not," someone else agreed. Related: Other people pointed out that it couldn't happen anyway — at least not for a while, as Robin reportedly has a trust that strictly prohibits using his voice or likeness for 25 years. "That doesn't honor him," a fourth person wrote. "that disrespects him and his memory especially when he was against that." Another person took a difference stance, saying that they would be "okay with this if Robin's family is." I love Robin Williams, too, but I personally think we should leave people alone, especially if that's what they wanted! Tell me what you think in the comments.
