Actor Aubrey Plaza opened up about how she's coping with grief after the sudden death of her husband, Jeff Baena.
Plaza talked about the "daily struggles" she goes through during an appearance on the podcast Good Hang – hosted by her Parks And Recreation co-star Amy Poehler.
"I feel happy to be with you. I'm here and I'm functioning and I feel, you know, I feel really grateful to be moving through this world," Plaza said.
Baena, an independent filmmaker, died by suicide in January. The couple tied the knot in 2021 and collaborated on several films together, such as Spin Me Around , The Little Hours , and Life After Beth .
During the interview, Plaza compared her grieving process to the recent film The Gorge starring Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy.
"In the movie, there's a cliff on one side and then there's a cliff on the other side and then there's like a gorge in between and it's filled with all these monster people that are trying to get them," she said.
Plaza added: "There's like a giant ocean of just awfulness that's right there and I can see it. And sometimes I just want to just dive into it and just be in it. And sometimes I just look at it. And sometimes I'm just trying to get away from it, but it's always there. It's just always there." – Los Angeles Times/Tribune News Service

(Video) Aubrey Plaza Opens Up About Husband's Death & How She's Dealing With Grief

American actress Aubrey Plaza had a tragic start to 2025 due to the death of her husband, Jeff Baena, in January 2025. Months later, the star opened up about her loss and how she views her grief. The actress recently appeared on an episode of the 'Good Hang' podcast, hosted by her 'Parks and Recreation' co-star, Amy Poehler. In the episode, Aubrey and Amy discussed various topics. However, the interview started on a solemn note, with Amy asking how Aubrey is doing since the tragic death of her husband, Jeff. Jeff Baena died on 3rd January 2025 at the age of 47 after committing suicide at his Los Angeles home. Aubrey and Jeff had been together since 2011 and got married in 2021. While reports say the pair had quietly separated in September 2024, the two were still married at the time of Jeff's death. Responding to Amy's question, Aubrey said, 'Right in this very, very present moment, I feel happy to be with you. Overall, I'm here and I'm functioning. I feel really grateful to be moving through the world. I think I'm okay, but it's like a daily struggle, obviously.' The actress then touched on grieving, likening it to the movie 'The Gorge'. She explained, 'In the movie, there's a cliff on one side and a cliff on the other side, and a gorge in between that's filled with monster people trying to get them.' The actress continued, saying, 'I swear when I watched it I was like, 'That feels like what my grief is like,' or what grief could be like. At all times, there's a giant ocean of awfulness that's right there, and I can see it.' Aubrey added, 'Sometimes I just want to dive into it and be in it, and sometimes I look at it. Sometimes I try to get away from it. But it's always there, and the monster people are trying to get me, like Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy.' Aubrey and Amy then moved on to other topics, including Aubrey's start in acting and comedy. Reacting to the video, many netizens and fans commended Aubrey's vulnerability and how Amy approached the situation. The actress is preparing to make her first comeback since her husband's death, alongside Margaret Qualley in 'Honey Don't'. We wish her the best in her project, and we hope to see more of her soon. Sylvester Stallone shows off his luxurious home in Florida

Photo: TNS Just as you'd expect from one of Hollywood's most famous action heroes, Sylvester Stallone is living large and in charge. The Rocky star, 79, became a Florida man after he and his wife Jennifer Flavin, 56, snapped up an incredible 13,241 sq ft (1,230 sq m) mansion in Palm Beach's North End in late 2020. Price tag: A cool $35.4mil (RM149.60mil). The Stallones, married 28 years with three grown daughters, opened the doors of their compound, built in 2014, for a tour, in the latest issue of Veranda magazine. Besides a private beach, the seven bedroom, 10 bathroom waterfront estate has a number of other fabulous amenities. Think: A gym (naturally), library, movie theater, elevator, temperature-controlled wine room, fireplaces galore, vaulted ceilings, pool/spa and more than 250ft (76.2m) of water frontage. (The actor's plans to build an underwater barrier, to keep prying boaters away, was axed late last year.) The palatial abode, which got a glam makeover by celebrity interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, also features Stallone's immense art collection, a work in progress. 'It's like furniture,' said the Hollywood icon said of his collection that includes a Botero in the entryway. 'Messing around, moving it around, constantly restimulating our minds.' And, good to know: If you ever get a coveted invite over there, just relax and make yourself comfortable. 'I've always made every house we've ever had a home,' Flavin said. 'I don't care if someone spills something. I can replace the rug or get it cleaned. We have three dogs and a cat and lots of children – nothing we own is precious.' – Miami Herald/Tribune News Service
