Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 specs and features
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7's USP is its integration of advanced Galaxy AI with an edge-to-edge cover screen. It offers the largest and brightest FlexWindow on a Galaxy Z Flip with 4.1-inch Super AMOLED panel, a peak brightness of 2,600 nits and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. There's the main 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that comes with Vision Booster.
Samsung also says that the Galaxy Z Flip7 is the slimmest Galaxy Z Flip to date, measuring 13.7mm when folded. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the cover and back, a robust Armor Aluminum Frame, and a thinner, redesigned Armor FlexHinge for strength.
Powered by the Samsung Exynos 2500 SoC and paired with 12GB of RAm and 512Gb storage, the Galaxy Z Flip7 gets support for Samsung DeX. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 houses the largest battery ever in the Galaxy Z Flip series—a 4,300mAh battery. The phone will run Android 16 with OneUI 8 on top.
The FlexWindow also gets Gemini Live support for hands-free voice searches and task completion. Users can plan trips by asking Gemini to pull flight details from Samsung Wallet, set airport reminders, and find top-rated restaurants, with all information saveable to Samsung Notes.
The new Now Bar shows real-time app activity, podcast progress, and alerts directly on the cover screen, with expanded third-party app integration. Now Brief provides personalised daily updates including traffic, reminders, calendar events, and fitness summaries, alongside customised music and video recommendations.
Coming to the camera, the Galaxy Z Flip7 gets a dual rear camera system that includes a 50MP Wide and a 12MP Ultra-Wide lens. Other features include Enhanced Nightograph, 10-bit HDR support for richer colours and deeper contrast in videos and a new Zoom Slider for quick framing adjustments.

European country Tesla CEO Elon Musk 'name checked' during earnings call for 171% jump in sales, announces 'surprise tax hike'

Tesla is facing tough time in Europe. Ever since Elon Musk decided to join Donald Trump's government, his political decisions have hurt the Electronic VEhicle (EV) maker almost across Europe. Elon Musk's souring ties with President Trump's administration too has not helped. The only bright spot in Europe for Tesla has been Turkey. In Europe, Turkey has been one of Tesla's fastest-growing markets. However, Tesla's efforts to mitigate slumping European sales with gains in Turkey may be at risk after a surprise tax hike in the country. Turkey has raised the lowest tier of its special consumption tax for electric vehicles — which includes Tesla's top-selling Model Y — to 25% from 10%, according to a presidential decree published in the country's Official Gazette. Tesla sales jump 171% in Turkey Turkey has emerged as an increasingly significant market for Tesla, helping alleviate falling demand elsewhere in Europe. In fact, CEO Elon Musk name-checked the country during the company's quarterly earnings call recently. Tesla sales in the country soared 171% in June to 7,235 units, with the Model Y taking the top spot among EVs. In same month, Tesla registrations across Europe dropped 23% to 34,781 vehicles, according to data published Thursday by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Brain tumor has left my son feeling miserable; please help! Donate For Health Donate Now Undo What helped Tesla grow in Turkey Tesla's success in Turkey, driven by a locally tailored Model Y qualifying for a 10% tax rate, faces challenges as a new levy could raise prices by about $6,000, potentially dampening demand. Previously priced at 1.87 million liras ($46,100), the Model Y may lose its edge, while many combustion-engine competitors' tax brackets remain unchanged. This tax hike compounds issues for Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who has flagged tough quarters ahead due to fading US EV subsidies and delays in autonomous vehicle progress. The policy shift also threatens competitors like BYD Co., which plans local production in Turkey and offers models like the Dolphin, Atto 3, and Seal in the same low-tax bracket. Other manufacturers, including Volkswagen AG, Hyundai Motor Co., and Stellantis NV, with affordable EVs in Turkey, may also feel the impact. AI Masterclass for Students. Dixon's JV with Chinese firm gets govt nod, other Indian companies may follow

Kolkata | New Delhi: Several electronics contract manufacturers in India are plotting partnerships with Chinese companies, enthused by the Centre's nod to a joint venture between Dixon Technologies and Chinese original design manufacturer (ODM) Longcheer Intelligence . Dixon, the top homegrown electronics contract manufacturer, said late Thursday that it has secured Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) approval to form a joint venture with Longcheer which will be 74% owned by the Indian company and 26% by the Chinese partner. Undo For the domestic electronics industry, the Dixon approval signals a softening of the Modi government's stance on allowing Chinese firms to join the burgeoning manufacturing footprint in the country. The industry was closely following the fate of Dixon's JV proposal. Live Events More Cos to Explore Equity Partnerships Currently any application with a Chinese entity needs multi-ministry government approval under the Press Note 3 (PN3) norms. 'The industry needs 1-2 cases of Chinese joint venture approvals before forming similar partnerships with Chinese companies,' said the chief executive of a leading contract manufacturer. 'Dixon's approval will now help everyone. Chinese companies are more comfortable with joint ventures than just technology licensing.' Mobile phone manufacturer Karbonn is finalising a JV with a Chinese company for component manufacturing, on the lines of the Dixon proposal where the foreign partner will own 26%, a senior official said. Contract AC and TV manufacturer PG Electroplast managing director (operations) Vikas Gupta said the Dixon approval is a positive for the industry since the Indian electronics industry needs technology and support from Chinese companies. He said the company will now explore equity partnership with Chinese firms for the electronics component manufacturing scheme. Meanwhile, Dixon is awaiting government approvals for two other Chinese JV proposals—with HKC to manufacture display modules, and smartphone brand Vivo for assembling handsets. According to Dixon, the MeitY approval was issued under the Foreign Exchange Management (Non-Debt Instruments) Rules, 2019, and the government's Press Note 3, 2020, which states that an entity of a country sharing land border with India, can invest only after receiving PN3 approval from the government. The proposal was approved on July 23, it said. ET reported in its July 21 edition that the Centre is likely to support Chinese investments in the electronics sector, only through JV agreements, after the industry's request to ease the process. The government has however pushed for technology transfers instead of only setting up assembly units. Niti Aayog has also recently proposed easing curbs on Chinese investments in India . The government's move also comes close on the heels of external affairs minister S Jaishankar's meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing. Post the meeting, India, for the first time in five years, resumed issuing tourist visas to Chinese citizens from July had imposed the curbs following the Galwan valley clashes in mid-2020 and issued PN3 norms that require multi-department approvals for investments from businesses and entrepreneurs based in land bordering countries such as China. This forced Chinese compressor maker Highly Group and Voltas to scrap a JV agreement in which the Chinese partner was to hold 60% two years ago as the proposal did not get the government's PN 3 approval. Renewed attempts by both companies to form the JV could not materialise in the absence of clear signals from the government though the talks can be revived again, an industry official said. Indian companies have been pushing for a review of trade ties with China, particularly concerning PN3. Joint ventures with Chinese companies are crucial for the success of the recently announced Rs 22,000-crore electronics component manufacturing scheme, experts said. The government is expected to extend the July 31 deadline to apply under the scheme as potential participants race to ink JV pacts to acquire expertise in manufacturing electronics components and sub-assemblies.

DRDO tests missile fired from drone

NEW DELHI: Flight-trials of an advanced precision guided missile launched from an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), which can be fired in plain and high-altitude areas during day and night, have been successfully conducted by DRDO. The UAV-launched precision guided missile or ULPGM-V3, which is an enhanced version of the ULPGM-V2 missile developed and delivered by DRDO earlier, was tested at the National Open Area Range at Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh. "The ULPGM-V3 is equipped with a high-definition dual-channel seeker that can strike a wide variety of targets. It has a two-way data link to support post-launch target/aim-point update," an official said on Friday. The missile is equipped with three modular warhead options, including an anti-armour one against modern tanks and infantry combat vehicles equipped with rolled homogeneous armour with explosive reactive armour. The other two are a penetration-cum-blast warhead with bunker-bursting capabilities and a re-fragmentation warhead with "a high lethality zone". Calling it "a major boost" to India's defence capabilities, defence minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO and its industry partners, MSMEs and start-ups for the development and successful trials of the ULPGM-V3 system. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like No annual fees for life UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo "This success proves that the Indian industry is now ready to absorb and produce critical defence technologies," he added. The missile is jointly developed by the DRDO labs like the Research Centre Imarat, Defence Research and Development Laboratory, Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory, High-Energy Materials Research Laboratory, Integrated Test Range and Defence Electronics Research Laboratory. The UAV, in turn, has been indigenously developed by start-up Newspace Research Technologies, Bengaluru. "DRDO is actively pursuing integration of ULPGM weapons with long-range and high endurance UAVs from several other Indian companies," the official said.
