EastEnders confirms Elaine's future with exciting new job after the Vic
Forthcoming scenes on the BBC soap will see Elaine offered a new job by none other than her sworn enemy Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins).
Yes, you read that correctly.
The shock offer is set to come as Elaine begins to struggle after she and daughter Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) sold off the Vic to Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) earlier this month.
As she pops in her former home for a drink, Elaine confides in her friend Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) that she misses the boozer during an emotional heart-to-heart.
Shortly afterwards, her prayers appear to be answered when she finds herself behind the bar of The Albert.
Elaine joins forces with Cindy, who has been struggling with staffing since the departure of Felix Baker (Matthew James Morrison) last month, during a busy night of service.
Grateful for Elaine's help, Cindy stuns her by offering her the job of co-manager of the place.
Will Elaine accept?

Elaine has resented Cindy's presence in the Square since her return from the dead in 2023, as Cindy was still carrying a torch for her ex-husband – Elaine's other half, George Knight (Colin Salmon). More Trending
But with Elaine currently in the process of divorcing George, does Cindy's offer signal a truce between the two women?
Something tells us that there's going to be fireworks behind the Albert bar…

Jeremy Clarkson feeling 'nostalgic' as he makes Top Gear return after BBC exit
Jeremy Clarkson says he is feeling "nostalgic" as he reflected on his time on BBC show Top Gear now the broadcaster has started airing reruns of his series Jeremy Clarkson admits he is feeling "nostalgic" as he reflects on his Top Gear return. The Clarkson's Farm star fronted the hit BBC motoring show with James May and Richard Hammond. Following that, Freddie Flintoff, Paddy McGuiness and Chris Harris took over full time but the show was put on hiatus after Freddie suffered life changing injuries in a horrific accident on set. Now, the BBC have started airing old episodes of Top Gear, featuring Jeremy, Richard and James, something which has made Jeremy feel quite nostalgic as he reflected on his career so far and his decades on the show. It comes after one Top Gear host admitted he 'never got along' with Jeremy Clarkson as he made a bold statement. Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones split as he joins a notorious dating app on a lads' holiday Taylor Swift sparks engagement rumours as fans spot Travis Kelce's lock screen "It's lovely actually. Sunday nights without Top Gear feel a bit weird so no it's nice to see them coming back actually. I'm delighted," he told Time Radio, "You know the funny thing was last Sunday. I was wandering through the sitting room and it was on. I did pause for a few minutes. I did watch it and yeah it was quite nostalgic. "I think there were some pretty good shows in there. There were some pretty terrible ones as well but there were some good ones." Aside from Top Gear, it's been a tough week for Jeremy as he's been forced to close his Diddly Squat farm for two months after a breakout of bovine TB in his cattle. He said: "It's awful, it is awful. You have a test every six months on the cows and then you sort of become blasé, it's a hypothetical threat. And then the vet looks up as he did yesterday lunchtime and said 'I'm really sorry this one's failed'. So that means we're now locked down and it's just dreadful, absolutely dreadful. "It's only been not even 24 hours since I found out and it occupies my mind. Well it was occupying my mind but I got up this morning and found one of my puppies has died. And we've got a very sickly calf. Honestly, farming? I'm not enjoying it this week." Jeremy also revealed that the farm will be closed for "certainly two months because that's how long we have to wait before we do another test" but said that the farm shop was unaffected as "it's only cows that get affected by it".

Mrs Brown's Boys has been a magnet for criticism since its launch and came under fire amid a racism scandal last year involving its lead star and creator, Brendan O'Carroll. Currently scheduled to air at 9:30pm, it seems like telly watchers will be opting not to tune in after branding it the 'worst' show ever. Commenting on the programme on X: "Worst programme in human history should've never been commissioned." Another added: "Just speechless... I honestly don't know one person who thinks this show is remotely funny." A third also posted: "I don't know anyone who will admit to liking, or even just watching, this show." Brendan was forced to apologise over a racial joke but later told how he thought it was a "good thing" for the BBC as it allowed them to raise awareness. Crew were left 'shocked' when O'Carroll made a racial slur during rehearsals for the beloved comedy's Christmas special and complained to bosses. Production was suspended whilst the Beeb launched an investigation and he later said he 'deeply regretted' his "clumsy attempt at a joke". However, he bizarrely shared his belief the BBC came out of it well, as it showed they took action. Brendan said: 'The one thing that that incident did is give great awareness about racism, and great awareness about the BBC, they don't take any messing. Mrs Brown's Boys star SNOGS his own father in stomach-churning Christmas special scenes 'The context of it… it was completely taken out of context 'However I think in the long run it was a good thing, because it got people talking about it.' Brendan was speaking for the first time about the row on an Irish YouTube show, Conversations With Gerry Kelly.

'Dark and beautiful' period drama starring Downton Abbey icon is now streaming
The show based on a famous gothic novel was adapted for the BBC in a 2014 miniseries and it stars a familiar face from Downton Abbey. BBC enthusiasts have been left gobsmacked by a period drama miniseries they're calling a "masterpiece" – and it's crafted from the pages of a novel by a "queen of the genre". The gothic tale of Jamaica Inn, penned by Daphne Du Maurier in 1936, has been brought to life in a gripping 2014 adaptation. Set against the backdrop of 1821, Jamaica Inn spins the story of Mary Yellan, who after the heartbreak of losing her mother, goes to live with her aunt at the eponymous coaching inn in Cornwall. However, Mary soon discovers the inn's lack of guests hides a dark secret, as she stumbles upon a nest of criminal dealings and finds herself entangled in romance with a dashing petty thief. The series features Downton Abbey star Jessica Brown Findlay portraying the intrepid Mary and Matthew McNulty as her roguish love interest Jem Merlyn, joined by Emmerdale 's own Danny Miller and Andrew Scarborough. Upon its initial release, Jamaica Inn faced a barrage of criticism over sound issues, with complaints about the cast's "mumbling" – yet, those revisiting the series over a decade later are now singing its praises for its captivating allure, reports the Express. One critique read: "This adaptation struck the right mood, it seemed to me - dark and subtly sinister." Another viewer was enchanted, describing it as "dark and beautiful", and adding: "Very beautiful adaptation of the Du Maurier classic novel to a TV mini-series. There is a reason why Hitchcock directed this back in 1939. The atmosphere set is hypnotic at times. "The music is well-chosen. It sets the right mood. When I first read the book, I imagined the setting to be similar but not quite as beautiful as shown here." The New York Times lauded the novel behind the adaptation, hailing it as a work by "the queen of the form", and an ideal read for "readers of Gothic thrillers". Jamaica Inn is no stranger to screen adaptations; its most renowned version was Alfred Hitchcock's 1939 film. The story also graced television screens in an ITV miniseries back in 1983 with Jane Seymour taking the lead, and it even crossed over into French television with a TV movie in 1995. Jamaica Inn is available to stream on ITV Premium.
