Nixa's Cantwell delays college decision
Hello everyone, I'm Dan Lucy on the Ozarks First digital desk.
Starting Thursday and going through Saturday, the best college football players in the country will be drafted by NFL teams.
It's something that every football player dreams about since buckling their first chin strap.
And that's the case for Nixa's Jackson Cantwell.
The difference is that for Cantwell that dream will become a reality in the next few years.
Toward that goal, Cantwell is in the process of picking where he wants to go to college.
More specificially, which college program will prepare him the best for the National Football League.
Jackson Cantwell will be a junior this fall, and is already the top recruit in the class of 2026.
He's a five star recruit at offensive tackle.
Cantwell is a 6-foot-8, 305 pound athlete that is one of the best prep shot putters and disc throwers in the country as well.
Cantwell has narrowed his choices down to four programs.
The Georgia BulldogsThe Miami HurricanesThe Ohio State Buckeyesand The Oregon Ducks.
Cantwell had planned on making his decisions April 30th.
But Wednesday, the Nixa Eagle posted on his instagram account a change of plans.
The post reads:New schedule.I'm adding an unofficial visit to Georgia at a date to be named later.New commitment day May 13th.Sorry for the delays had to make sure I did it right the first time.Still deciding between the same list.
Jackson Cantwell is visiting Oregon this weekend.
Then another trip to Athens to visit the Bulldogs.
And after that a decision.
