Ohio State football 'Student Appreciation Day' sights and sounds
Saturday was the annual "Student Appreciation Day" for the Ohio State football program. It's a tradition Urban Meyer and continued by Ryan Day before being put on pause by the COVID-19 pandemic. It was reinstated in 2022, and we just witnessed the latest iteration of the event on Saturday at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
With students and fans still basking in the glow of a College Football Playoff national championship, the energy in the building was evident with a throng of students there to take in a scrimmage, photo opportunities, and more, and thanks to the Ohio State Football "X" account and the social media posts of others, we got a pretty good look at some of the best moments of the shindig on Saturday.

‘Stranger Things,' ‘The Goldbergs' actors spotted at Miss Vicky's in Liverpool
LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A post-Sunday night dinner sweet treat had a little celebrity flair for those at a Liverpool ice cream shop. Gaten Matarazzo, known for 'Stranger Things,' Sean Giambrone, known for 'The Goldbergs,' Peyton Elizabeth Lee, known for 'Andi Mack,' and a few others were seen enjoying some ice cream on the rainy night at Vicky's Tasty Treats. The picture of the stars was posted to Vicky's Facebook page, with the caption:'Thank you, Gaten Matarazzo ( Dustin from Stranger Things), Sean Giambrone from the Goldbergs, and Peyton Elizabeth from Andi Mack for stopping by for a Tasty Treat .' Of the photographed crew, Matarazzo and Giambrone are the only two confirmed as cast members in a new Hulu comedy, which is being filmed at American High, a Liverpool-based production company. The movie is currently called 'The Untitled BriTANicK Pizza Movie' on IMDb. It is said to be about two students who face 'an unexpectedly epic journey when they must navigate two flights of stairs to retrieve their pizza delivery, turning a simple task into a surreal adventure.' Nick Kocher and Brian Mcelhaney — the pair who make up BriTANicK — are writing and directing the movie. A few weeks prior, Matarazzo and Giambrone were spotted at Dinosaur BBQ in downtown Syracuse. 'This is your sign to bring your crew to Dinosaur BBQ, you never know who you'll run into! We've fed a lot of amazing people over the years…this week, we added Dustin Henderson to the list!' the restaurant's social media post read in part. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Oklahoma Sooners earn commitment from 2026 blue chip offensive lineman
Oklahoma Sooners earn commitment from 2026 blue chip offensive lineman The Oklahoma Sooners added their ninth pledge in the 2026 recruiting class on Monday, picking up a commitment from four-star offensive lineman Noah Best. Best is the No. 15 interior offensive lineman in the class according to Rivals and is also a four-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry ranking. Best marks the second offensive line commitment in the class, joining Will Conroy, another interior offensive line prospect in 2026. Best chose the Sooners over offers from Missouri and Kansas State and had a total of 24 Power Four offers across the SEC, Big Ten, ACC, and Big 12. It's a big win for Bill Bedenbaugh and the Oklahoma Sooners, who add another physical interior offensive lineman of the future. Best is a force at the point of attack and imposes his will on defenders. He moves really well in space, displaying the athleticism to pull across the formation and climb to the second level in the run game. As a pass protector, Best displays really good footwork. He doesn't allow defenders to beat him around the edge. He's a strong player. Once he gets his hands on the rusher, they don't go anywhere. Although he projects as a guard at the collegiate level, his experience and the talent he has shown at offensive tackle will provide Best the position flexibility to make an impact at multiple spots along the offensive line.
