Officials told to allocate TIDCO houses to eligible persons
Nellore: Nellore Municipal Commissioner YO Nandan has directed the officials to ensure allocation of houses under PM Avasa Yojana (PMAY) through Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TIDCO) to the eligible poor in the city.
The NMC Commissioner has conducted a review meeting with the officials over the status of TIDCO houses at Venkateswarapuram, Allipuram, Akkachrruvupadu and Kallurupalle Layouts in the city on Wednesday.
The Commissioner has directed them to allocate the houses to the new beneficiaries in place of old once like death cases, ineligible for bank loans, etc reasons.
He said that selection of new beneficiaries should be transparent manner in the interest of justifying the needy.
Nandan has said that as per the guidelines top priority should be given to the family hereditariness of deceased and not secured bank loans. He said that as per the norms of Reserve Bank the beneficiaries, who wanted to secure the bank loan must have good Credit Information Bureau India Limited (CIBIL) score only such persons should be enrolled as joint partners of the project. He directed the officials to select the beneficiaries under the CIBIL score concept to secure bank loans.
He ordered them to hand over houses to the new beneficiaries by completing all necessary official formalities including arranging bank loans by June 12.
Commissioner Nandan has appealed the bankers to ensure for sanctioning the loans liberally in the interest of eligible poor to own the houses.

Union Agriculture Minister announces approximately Rs 6,262 crore for MNREGA for Madhya Pradesh this year
Sehore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 7 (ANI): Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various development works worth crores of rupees in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh, the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare said in a release. As per the release, on this occasion, Chouhan said that for the MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act), Madhya Pradesh will receive approximately Rs 6,262 crore this year. Chouhan called upon everyone to actively participate in development initiatives and said, 'We will leave no stone unturned to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047. The development of villages and the nation is only possible with the support and cooperation of the people. The development of the country depends on the development of its villages.' Chouhan added that consistent work is being done to bring Narmada water to Sehore, and the people can expect the waters of Narmada to reach the region soon. Efforts are also underway to supply Narmada water to farmers' fields in Ashta and Ichhawar. Speaking on urban development, Chouhan noted that Bhopal is being designated as a metropolitan city, and this will significantly benefit Sehore as the two cities grow closer and progress together. Regarding housing for the poor, Chouhan shared that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), 14 lakh homes were approved for the poor as per the 2018+ list. He announced the approval of the remaining 7,85,356 houses. He also mentioned that the survey work for the scheme is underway, and after verification, new eligible applicants will also be approved to ensure that every deserving poor family gets a home. The Minister proudly stated that 1.48 crore women across the country have become 'Lakhpati Didis' (women earning Rs 1 lakh or more annually), and the government continues to strive to ensure no woman remains poor. Efforts are also being made to increase this number further. Chouhan further discussed the ongoing Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, stating, 'I have asked 16,000 scientists to step out of laboratories and go into villages. These scientists are now visiting rural areas, sharing their research directly with the farmers. I urge farmers to listen carefully to the scientists and adopt their recommendations to increase productivity. It is our resolve to achieve Viksit Krishi (developed agriculture) for a Viksit Bharat.' Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, also addressing the gathering on this occasion, assured that irrigation facilities will be extended to every farm and that, wherever necessary, full water support will be provided to ensure complete irrigation, the release added. PMAY-G transforms rural India, says Union Minister of State Pemmasani
GUNTUR: Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandrasekhar on Friday emphasised the pivotal role of rural transformation in India's progress. Addressing the Regional Rural Workshop in Goa, held under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G), he said the event showcased the collaborative spirit required to build a new India. Chandrasekhar noted that PMAY-G, launched in 2016 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, embodies the principle of Antyodaya—uplifting the most marginalised. 'The scheme is not just a policy but a movement turning aspirations into concrete homes, offering families a journey from uncertainty to security,' he said. The Centre aims to build 4.95 crore rural homes by March 2029. Of these, 3.90 crore have been sanctioned and 2.76 crore completed. 'Each number represents a secure family—children studying safely, elders living with dignity, and parents resting peacefully,' he added. The Minister stressed that PMAY-G is about holistic development. Integrated with flagship schemes like Ujjwala Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Swachh Bharat, it is ensuring access to clean water, sanitation, and cooking gas in rural homes. He also highlighted the adoption of green housing technologies and the use of Artificial Intelligence to ensure transparent beneficiary selection, noting that the government's focus remains on long-term impact over mere statistics. Calling microfinance a key bridge to fulfilling rural aspirations, Dr. Chandrasekhar said the future lies in innovation, data-driven decision-making, and inclusive financial support. These, he asserted, will drive the transformation of rural India into a model of sustainable development.

Andhra Dy CM Pawan extends Rs 50 lakh aid to kin of Pahalgam attack victim
NELLORE: Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has extended financial support of Rs 50 lakh to the family of Madhusudhan Rao, a software engineer from Kavali in Nellore district, who was killed in a recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. On Friday, Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh, TIDCO chairman Vemulapati Ajay, and JSP Nellore district general secretary Gunukula Kishore visited the grieving family and personally handed over the aid as per Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's instructions. The aid was distributed as follows: Rs 22.5 lakh each to Madhusudhan's son, a Class 8 student, and daughter, who is in intermediate, and Rs 5 lakh to his parents.
