Morocco, Oman Seal Several Agreements, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) & Executive Programs

The Kingdom of Morocco and the Sultanate of Oman signed several legal texts aimed at strengthening the framework governing bilateral cooperation, during the 7th Moroccan-Omani Joint Commission, held on Sunday in Muscat.
These are:
- A memorandum of understanding between Morocco's Ministry of Transport and Logistics and the Omani Ministry of Transport concerning the recognition of certificates issued in accordance with the provisions of the 1978 International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW), as well as its amendments.
- A memorandum of understanding in the field of renewable energy between Morocco's Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development and the Omani Ministry of Energy and Minerals.
- A memorandum of understanding between Morocco's Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports and the Omani Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in the field of sports and school sports.
- A memorandum of understanding in the field of digitalization and the exchange of expertise between Morocco's Ministry of Justice and the Supreme Court of the Sultanate of Oman.
- A memorandum of understanding concerning the twinning between the city of Fez and the city of Nizwa in the Sultanate of Oman.
At the close of the session, both countries expressed satisfaction with the level of bilateral relations and their positive development, in line with the political will and the enlightened High Guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His brother, His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik of Oman, may God preserve Them, who are committed to elevating these ties to higher levels and broader horizons, capable of infusing them with a strong momentum aligned with the aspirations of both leaders and the two brotherly peoples.

Ahead of the forum, the ministry organised a virtual workshop with the GCC General Secretariat, involving representatives from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait. It focused on practical outcomes and mechanisms to support sustainable mobility and boost environmental and economic cooperation in the region. To raise awareness locally, Dhofar governorate will host sports and awareness activities for children on August 15 and 16. These include a marathon and a cycling track conducted in a safe environment under specialist supervision. Sharjah government to hire 700 Emiratis by end of 2025

Image for illustration Sharjah government has announced its decision to hire 700 UAE nationals by the end of 2025. It follows the directive of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. Sheikh Sultan also approved the promotions for 1,523 government employees at an annual cost of AED 22 million. The government said it will also change the status for 254 employees who've gained academic qualifications at a cost of AED 8,420,803.

Sharjah Ruler unveils decent living grant for some Emirati families

Sharjah has announced a "decent living grant" to help Emirati families live better with an aim to increase their monthly income to AED 17,500. It follows the directive of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide financial assistance to 3,162 families registered with the Social Services Department. The Department will be given an additional AED 134 million annually to be disbursed to the families starting September. Sheikh Sultan also announced plans to build a new "Social Care Complex" in Al Ruwaidat with several facilities including a centre for women, a home for the elderly, a mental health facility, and a care home for children, all in one place. The complex will cover an area of 140,000 square metres and will also include recreational facilities, as well as a mosque and gym.
