Daily Mirror5 hours ago

Sunday Brunch fans were quick to share their thoughts on social media
Sunday Brunch welcomed viewers with a brand-new episode on June 22, sprucing things up with Vicky Pattison as the fresh new co-host alongside Simon Rimmer.
The Channel 4 show saw a roster of stars including Rosie Jones, Tim Key, Fleur East, Gavin Rossdale, and Nicky Campbell, plus appearances from Jeremy Pang, Allie Sherlock, and Susannah Fielding.

While Simon was at the wheel of the show, his regular partner in crime, Tim Lovejoy, was notably missing from the Sunday line-up.

Vicky stepped in to fill Lovejoy's shoes, quickly proving herself to be a hit with the Sunday Brunch faithful.
Audiences took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the shake-up, with many throwing their support behind Vicky and dubbing her a "breath of fresh air", reports the Manchester Evening News.
One viewer tweeted: "Joke about Vicki all you want, but its good to have some feminine energy co-presenting and female POV on the sofa while chatting with the guests. #sundaybrunch @SundayBrunchC4 @VickyPattison."
Another chimed in with praise: "What a breath of fresh air @VickyPattison is #SundayBrunch," and another added, "I honestly don't think Tim should go, but having Vicki is a nice change from two bald blokes being blokey and exciting only really by any footie talk #sundaybrunch."
Instagram also lit up with compliments, with a user enthusing: "Best presenting duo ever, Vicki should do more on Sunday Brunch. She's just what's needed for a Sunday morning."

And someone concurred: "Yay, @vickypattison should be on every week please."
Vicky took to Instagram to announce her excitement about joining Simon on the Sunday Brunch sofa, sharing the news with her followers two days before the show aired.
"I HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS!" she exclaimed to her fans. "As a long time friend of @sundaybrunchc4 it is an absolute HONOUR to be wearing a slightly different hat this week! I will be joining my good pal @rimmersimon as his co host while the lovely @timlovejoy_official has a very well deserved break!!!"
She continued: "I am buzzing like an old fridge to chat to all of our gorgeous guests, eat some delicious food and hopefully give anyone watching and nursing a hangover a bit of light comedy reprieve. See you bright and early Sunday my loves... and wish me luck."

Gogglebox's Mary Killen, 67, addicted to vaping after 'never smoking cigarettes'

Gogglebox star Mary Killen has revealed that she has become 'addicted' to vaping in her 60s as a lifelong non-smoker. The 67-year-old TV personality appears on the Channel 4 reality show with her husband Giles, with the pair amusing the nation with their upper class aesthetic and, occasionally, out-of-touch commentary on the hottest cultural topics. They've been dubbed everything from 'posh' to 'eccentric' with their unique brand of humour and have been a staple on the show for a decade, after joining in 2015. For the most part, casual viewers have pieced together an image of their cottage-dwelling life from snippets they've revealed on the show and Mary's past as an author, Spectator columnist and etiquette expert. Now, she has opened up about a vice that has haunted her in her later years – vaping, in a new column for Mail Online. The media star explained that she only picked up the habit 'a couple of years ago' after having a puff from a Juul offered by her 22-year-old son of a friend. Mary revealed that she had 'never been interested in normal cigarettes' and would even 'decline' smoking them during her younger years when all her peers were, somewhat influenced by the fact that her father was a doctor. She doesn't even 'drink alcohol'. As for the appeal of the vape (which her son's friend casually gifted to her), she explained: 'I loved inhaling the odourless air and blowing it out again. It just looked so chic and felt cooling in the palm of the hand.' Soon enough, she found herself buying 'replacement pods', reasoning that it would 'be good if I were to appear to have at least one addiction' and allow her most social acceptability in 'drinking circles'. There is currently no long-term research on the health effects of vaping, with the NHS cautioning against taking up the vice if you do not smoke, while Mary herself cited one UK health website which even advocated for the benefits of nicotine as a 'stimulant'. According to the NHS website, 'nicotine vaping is less harmful than smoking' and is used as a tool for those looking to quit cigarettes. The website stipulates, however: 'Vaping is not completely harmless and we don't know yet what the long-term effects may be. Children and non-smokers should never vape.' She added, however: 'Nicotine is highly addictive and I now waste about £14 a week on four Juul replacement pods, each one delivering roughly the same amount of nicotine as 20 cigarettes.' 'And the addiction is a problem, because if I run out of replacement pods I become self-pitying and argumentative.' All this (as well as new studies on the impact on children's health) has prompted her to make a new resolve to quit vaping, although she joked she would 'probably kill or be killed' by family members is she went 'cold turkey'. Ultimately, she called the habit 'very enjoyable' with no especially scary health risks, and there was easy access to 'feed' her addiction. More Trending On the screen, Mary and her husband remain a controversial inclusion to the Gogglebox line-up. In February, they faced backlash from viewers after they commiserated about a by-election in which there had been a massive swing against the Conservative party with fans calling them 'insufferable' and 'utterly unbearable' View More » Then, in March, Mary got into hot water after calling Stephen Graham 'that actor who always plays short northerners' during the height of Adolescence's popularity. Beauty and the Geek star forced to deny she is involved in grisly murder case

Beauty and the Geek star, Kiera Johnstone, has taken to social media, refuting allegations she is involved in a murder case, which was reported in Australia last week The winner of dating show, Beauty and the Geek, has vehemently denied her involvement in a grisly murder in New South Wales, Australia. Kiera Johnstone, 26, who appeared on the Australian version of the series in 2021, insisted she has nothing to do with the shocking case after reports surfaced on Friday that a woman who starred in the reality TV show had been charged with a murder in Port Lincoln. A man's body was discovered in a home in the coastal town in Australia after emergency services were called to a property at about 3:25pm local time on Thursday following reports of a small fire. When crews arrived, they found a man dead inside the residence. A 34-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and later charged with murder. A suppression order preventing the publication of any information that could identify the woman, the victim, or the specific details surrounding the man's death was issued. However, after the news broke, speculation surfaced online attempting to link Keira with allegations stemming from the police report. Telling her followers there were rumours she had been involved in the murder for "reasons beyond my understanding", the reality star took to her Instagram Stories today. Insisting she wanted to be "absolutely clear", Keira said: "Hi everyone. A former contestant from Beauty and the Geek has been charged with a very serious crime. "Although no names have been released, for reasons beyond my understanding, there has been speculation online suggesting that I am involved. "Let me be absolutely clear: I am not involved in any way. I have not been charged with a crime. I have literally never even had a parking fine. The allegations being discussed have nothing to with me, and the fact that I even need to says this is incredibly upsetting. "It's deeply disturbing to see people spreading false information, making assumptions and sharing screenshots. I understand the internet can be quick to judge, but this kind of speculation is damaging and invasive and is something I take very seriously." Asking anyone 'fuelling the gossip' to "please stop", she continued: "If you are part of the group fuelling this - sharing, gossiping or silently watching - I ask you to please stop. "This is not entertainment. This is a serious situation, that involves real victims. you're literally sick if you think this is at all funny. "As this has nothing to do with me, this will be the only time I speak on the matter. Thank you to those who reached out with kindness and common sense." It comes after The Courier Mail reported on Friday that the woman arrested for the alleged murder was once a contestant on reality show Beauty and the Geek. South Australia Police have confirmed the victim and the accused knew each other and had been in a relationship. The woman was refused police bail and remains in custody. Assistant Commissioner Parrott said a cause of death had not yet been established and no further details could be released, as the victim's family had not yet been notified. The woman did not apply for bail and has been detained under the Mental Health Act. She is expected to return to court in December. The suppression order regarding the accused's identity is set to be reviewed by the court next week.
